Aaaand we have a good game of GBCB bingo in the 3rd hand smoke thread. Been a while
The whole thread wreaks of stupid.
Guilty of encouraging it. X_X Heh
I enjoyed what you all had to say! I didn't understand the ignorance of pets and pot though lol. If some of these people gave research a chance, we'd live in a completely different world.
I just found that there is a dads/dads to be board . One of their threads linked to N'14 talking about ridiculous shit and it looks like N'14 has some sort of beef with N'13 ? I'm off to do more digging on what it is. I'm so bored. Friday nights suck now...
N13 and N14 got into it because some N14 person got pissy at N13 for their "advice from N13" GIF thread (thought it was annoying and that it was N13 trying to tell them how to run their board). Then N14 got pissy back. And also Parenting showed up. At that point it became Parenting vs. N13 I think. It was like a bag of cats; I have no idea.
Ok N14's pee sticks ain't even dry and they are trying to pick fights with other boards? Seriously?!?! Well, at least there might be some good drama to lurk over the next few months during late night BF sessions ;-)
Well, we did need a board to take up our A14 "crazy" mantle when we are all occupied with childbirth in April... We aren't going to have time to be the resident Bump loonies anymore when we're busy forcing the next generation out of our vaginas.

In fairness though, I THINK most of what is going on in that thread is between N13 and Parenting. I couldn't even make it through the whole thing let alone pay attention to affiliations.

I tried to get through the N14 mess, but I gave up after page 5.
I got to page 6 so far, kinda determined to get through it now!
Man N14 is going to be boring, going by page 6, GIFs are banned!!!!
ETA: I got to page 9, before deciding to give up and see just how many pages... 23!!!!!!!!!! nah cant be bothered! OK - on to the 3rd hand smoke thread....

That Tom Hiddleston, man... He's so precious. :x I don't know who decided it was a good idea to stick him and Chris Hemsworth in the same movie, but bless their brilliant soul. And don't even get me started on the Avengers, because I can't even.

wow page 3 of the 3rd hand smoking and I think I spotted the post that blew it all up......
Was it my sublime lyrics?? They were somewhat like a bomb of awesomeness
Your Sublime lyrics were....... sublime!!! hehe
Its a good thing that I wasn't reading that post live cause I would have said some serious shit about "some fleabag ripping off my babies face" or what ever the wording was..... just thinking about the fact it was worded that way makes my blood boil!!!!!
ETA the irony of my siggy right now..... but that kid deserved it!

My house is not ready for this baby! His whole room is scattered around my dining room. I feel like as soon as we get it set up, my water will break or something. Ahhhhh
So I'm thinking of doing yarn wrapped letters for lo's name since I have an abundance of yarn from making his blanket. Can't decide though if I should do his full name Thomas or the nickname we'll be using Tommy?
Are you talking about formal name/birth announcements? I would start with the full name in the main part of the announcement, and then refer to him as Tommy if you include any additional messages. "We are proud to announce the birth of Thomas ____ ____! Blah blah blah, so on and so forth... DH, Tommy and I hope to see you soon!" That kind of thing. Alternatively, I would simply use the full name and upon receiving any phone calls or visitors I would make a point to refer to him as Tommy.

Tommy is shorter, and those things are a pain to make.

Lol sorry I wasn't more clear....no I'm talking about the wooden letters for his wall...like these
Ohhh!! I thought you were talking about letters as in DIY written birth announcements with a yarn binding or something! WOW. Pregnancy brain. Wooden letters: go with Tommy.
If you need me I'll just be over here hiding under a rock in my shame. X_X

I'm Aw-ing. I made DH a "Yay, you're a daddy!" basket for his birthday, and he loved it! Look at all the daddy things! (Of course, I got myself a Mom tattoo mug also. Had to.)
Frickin frickity frack. I hate pregnant sleeping. Here's me every night:
1) Get into bed, turn out light. Try to go to sleep.
2) Can't sleep, so mobile bump. Try not to get annoyed at DH snoring away next to me.
3) Poke the baby, who has decided to take up parcour every night at 11 PM.
4) Check Pinterest, play a game or two. Feel gas building in my belly and acid being forced into my throat. Reach for the tums.
5) Accept that the tums aren't working. Decide to sit up and try and burp.
6) Flail legs in the air, dislodging covers and dogs in the process, and triggering intense sciatica stabbing pain. Set legs down gingerly.
7) Attempt to swing legs over the side of the bed, triggering more stabs. Give up and lie still a moment.
8) Leverage body to the side, ignoring shooting pains in the butt, and do an inverted push-up off the headboard to shoot myself into an upright position.
9) Breathe heavily for 30 seconds, recovering from the Everest of panda rolls.
10) Deep breath, bear down, and burp loudly enough to interrupt DH'd snoring.
11) Lie back down, attempting to find an increasingly elusive comfortable position.
Repeat steps 2-12 at least 3 times more, sometimes throwing in a Food Network show on Amazon for variety. If this option is chosen, add step 13: waking up hungry at 4am.

Or the add pillow to pile to prop myself up, nope too uncomfortable, remove pillow. Acid starts so add pillow again, I'm sure i can sleep with my head at 90 degrees... Nope, remove pillow... Repeat several times while dh snores away..

Is it irrational of me to be a little bit mad at DH for suggesting its no big deal to name our child something I have trouble pronouncing because "I'd learn?" I've been here for 8 years, if I can't say the name well now, I don't think its going to change. Also, I'm not willing to go spend money on speech therapy to learn certain things just so we can name our child something. Not to mention, none of my family would be able to pronounce it. It just makes me sad that he would suggest such a thing like its no big deal and then not understand why it would upset me. (I'm kind of sensitive about the words and names I struggle to pronounce here, whereas its VERY easy for him.)
@kcp913 glad your LO decided to stay put! Even though having practice runs at labor buddying is fun (and mildly panic inducing) let's bake these babies a while longer.
Just caught up on 200 posts, glad everyone is doing better!
My 2¢: I have a vicious pitbull that is crying right now because grandpa doesn't let him on the couch to snuggle. Big baby. I admit he can be very aggressive toward other animals and he is very protective of me, but he's a damn good dog. And I am guilty of being anti pitbull before him... My dad filled us with horror stories about them and I just had it in my mind that I would never be able to trust one. Eating my words now, this dog is my dog soulmate. I love him to pieces.
Also, 3rd hand smoke thread: holy.crap. I am glad I didn't miss all that. Needed some good bingo.
Baby shower is today! And went to BRU to do completion coupon last night because I had other coupons that were expiring, was very irritated because they went back on what they told me about discounts for my glider so it was 200 bucks more expensive than I thought, but my mom definitely made up for it by going around the store and being like "this is on your registry" and putting it in the cart. She only spent $170 with all the other coupons I had and got me my baby gate, humidifier, some clothes, sheet and changing pad protectors, portable high chair, and some nursing clothes. Holy shit I couldn't believe it. Her thoughts: "I've had so much control not buying you stuff, I have to start somewhere" and by control she means she only bought us a brand new crib, mattress, dresser, and a pack n play for her house. Holy shit I am blessed and can't even begin to express how grateful I am.
And sorry, last thing fr catching up, my sister went to chile to meet her inlaws for the first time and they sent home a bunch of handmade baby clothes for me. Another amazing generous gift and I absolutely love them!
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
Ugh I'm know. My mom nor my sister got them, but these boys are marking their territory. It's pretty disgusting how purple my stomach is. Talk about badge of honor.
I know! The NST nurse commented on them the other day (she wasn't rude and I was not at all offended). They have almost reached my boobs.
Mom to 10 year old DS and 7 year old DD. Twin girls coming soon!
