Shoes with characters on them? Just no. That itself probably isn't really unpopular, but I'd rather pay three times as much and get plain shoes at Stride Rite. That part might be.
Chevron patterns? Kinda cute, but not the most amazing thing ever.
Characters. NO. Actually, character clothing. NO. With the exemption of a minnie mouse hoodie from Disneyland that's adorable.
Patterns I don't really mind. These are some of my favorite Beb shoes.
And she does have cheetah print Toms and Uggs. ;;)
I hate when people make a big AW post about how they're deleting their FB account and they delete it for like a week and then reinstate it. I have people on my FB that do this on a regular basis. Make up your mind already, you either hate FB or you love it.

I have some "friends" who have done this too. My most recent was a college friend who was the biggest AW of her own kid, posting pictures every day, updating after every "nap time fail" etc. Then, sadly, she had a miscarriage. She made a big show of deactivating because looking at other people's children was too much for her. Fine, I can understand. But just go away. No need to post ten times about whether anyone will "miss" you, only to return after a week.

LOL All I wanna do is creep their facebook in peace. It's there, it's not there. I can't take the mind games!

I don't really like when grown women refer to themselves as "mommies." You don't really hear of grown men referring to themselves as "daddies." (unless you're into that..wink wink)
I'm talking about when adults are talking to other adults and refer to themselves in that way.
Yes!
To add on to this, my MIL refers to her husband as "Daddy" when talking to my husband and her other children. WTF lady! It creeps me the fuck out!
Oh god...MY mom does this!! she refers to my Dad as "Daddy" when talking about him to me or my sister. She doesn't call him Daddy herself, it's only when talking to us. but I've never in my entire life called my Dad "Daddy" that i can remember. maybe as a little kid? i think it started when my little sister was born (she's 9 years younger than me). it's freakin embarassing sometimes. like she would do it in front of guys i'd bring home, and still does it in front of my husband. When she did it in front of DH i used to be like "Daddy? you mean Dad? i don't call him Daddy!" but at this point i've just given up.
Don't know if this will be "unpopular" or not, but here goes anyway. Comparing "thin" shaming to "fat" shaming is not comparable. In fact, I almost find it insulting to compare the two if you are talking about someone who is just on the low end of a normal bmi or "borderline" underweight who is supposedly being "thin" shamed. Frankly, in general, our society promotes the "ideal" as being on the low end of normal. If you open up any magazine, watch any run way show, open up a Victoria's Secrets catalogue, watch pretty much any award show the majority of people/stars/models are either underweight or, at least, borderline underweight. It is not the same thing and it is not comparable. There are not shows called the "biggest gainer." A large portion of the ads on tv are not aimed at thin people. And there certainly isn't a multi-billion dollar industry aimed at people trying to put on 5-10 pounds.
At 5'8, I have been as thin as low as about 112-113 (as a teen) and about 120 as an adult. I have been as heavy as 224 toward the end of my pree/bedrest pregnancy, but was still over 200 after birth. I can tell you from personal experience that I was treated totally different on a regular basis when I was over 200 pounds than when I was normal or even slightly underweight. I can't even fathom how someone who is morbidly obese is treated...so if you are some woman who is at 18 or 18.5 bmi, please stop and think about what a morbidly obese person goes through before you start saying weight shaming goes both ways.
Mostly I agree with you, just wanted to point out there is an industry for thin men who want to bulk up. (Not sure how big it is, but it's definitely a real thing.)
@SisterJanet I think what you are referring to is the supplement industry that is geared toward both men and women to help with bulking up and over all muscle/athletic performance. That is a very targeted market and you really don't see it advertised as heavily as what I believe @ibackbevo is referring to. You see so many ads on TV for things like "Slim Fast", "Nutrisystem", and not to mention the "quick weight loss" gimmicks. These are all about losing weight but not necessarily in a healthy way. I do agree that there are women who have problems gaining weight, but there is really not a lot advertised or talked about in the mainstream about how to add size to your body through diet and exercise.
My UO is this, I hate the term little one or LO on here, it sounds to me like something that would be said on Star Trek " like oh my little one the force will be with you", just say baby or my kid or my daughter or son etc.
Re the "Daddy" conversation: My Thursday FFC is that I totally have started calling my husband Daddy since DS was born. I have gotten so used to saying, "Go to Daddy" or "Go give Daddy this or that" or "Go get Daddy to do this or that" that now I end up just calling him Daddy at random times. I will randomly say, "Hey, Daddy - Can you wash the dishes?"

I don't like alcohol of any kind. I think it tastes gross, is insanely overpriced, and makes people behave badly. When I worked, I declined invitations to company parties where alcohol was served, because I didn't want to see my coworkers act like idiots and then be forced to feign respect for them at work the next week. I have little patience for people who plan entire meals, vacations, events, etc., around alcoholic beverages, and I have even less patience for people who bitch and moan when they find out parties and get-togethers in my family are booze free. If the idea of going to a baby shower or wedding without alcohol -- or going 9 months without a drink while you're pregnant -- makes you panicked and grumpy, I think you have a problem.

I am pretty lukewarm on all things Disney. I enjoyed Disney World the couple times I went as a kid, (and once as a teenager with my high school's marching band), but I can't understand for the life of me the allure Disney holds for some adults. I have at least a dozen friends who make the trip once or twice every year. (none of these couples have kids) I know Disney has some events/attractions like the Food and Wine Festival and all the running races that are geared toward adults, but I can't imagine going twice a year. I would much rather explore new vacation destinations (either in the US or abroad) than traveling to the same resort all the time. My DH really hates Disney (mostly he can't stand the weather) so he says our kids are only getting one visit!

I've been calling MH "Papa" ever since we got a dog. IDK why. When referring to him for Beb I say Da-doo because thats how she says it.

@kramja01 this! I know a woman who is OBSESSED with Disney! She has so many Mickey items and always posts Disney stuff on Facebook. She goes several times a year with her adult kids. I don't understand the appeal either. But to each their own.

The flipside: I deleted my FB account with zero announcements a couple years ago, because I also hate that junk. Turns out a few people thought I had unfriended them and some were actually kind of upset. Of course, those were the people who were not very good at FB and couldn't deduce I didn't have a profile anymore.
Again, probably not an "unpopular" opinion, but an opinion nonetheless:
It is really stupid to call people out for posting on TB or for not having a life because you post on TB, etc. IN A POST ON TB. If you are posting on TB, that makes you just as big of a loser as you think the rest of us are! And trying to differentiate because you only post occasionally on TB as opposed to regularly (or post regularly but not as regularly as the some of us) is a distinction without a difference.

May you never find yourself at one of my family functions... You won't be able to get your nose high enough in the air to deal with us. That was a pretty high and mighty speech you just gave.
It's not a huge deal to me if someone leaves the bathroom without washing their hands. I don't get why people act like that person must be the grossest human to ever live. Because bathrooms (including public bathrooms) aren't that dirty compared to the other things we touch and don't think twice about. So you washed your hands after you (hopefully) didn't get poop on them in the bathroom? Congrats. But then you didn't wash your hands after touching your cell phone, keyboard, shopping cart, etc. So, they're still quite dirty.
Re: alcohol. I don't like it. I had a baptism of fire at 14 when my friend downed a half bottle of vodka and ended up in hospital having her stomach pumped. I don't like being drunk and I don't like drunk people. I don't however mind having a drink or 2,or being around people who are having a social drink. I just think its tacky to drink to excess. Do what you want, just don't expect me to join in.

I always side eye anyone who leaves the bathroom without washing their hands. I think it's disgusting and unsanitary. It spreads germs. And yeah, people should clean their cell phones, key boards, and shopping cart handles off regularly too.

I have a friend who does this every few weeks. She generally spouts something about privacy, capitalism yadayada, then disappears for a few weeks. Then she's back again, same as before. I wouldn't mind but she's almost 35. She should be over acting like a college freshman.

I think that if you're at a wedding, party or celebration of some sort and you think that it's tacky for people to be over indulging a bit with alcohol than I think you're a bit of a douche.
I am dreading ever taking my kid to Disney World and hoping it can somehow be avoided. DH thinks this makes me a terrorist.
Disney World is my hell on Earth. I hate crowds and places that just want to rip you off. I really hope my kid never asks to go there cause my DH hates that place too.
If I get invited to a wedding where there isn't any booze, I bring a cooler in my trunk and "use the restroom" every half hour.
Baby shower? Make it every 15 minutes.

Yeah I agree. Maybe I'm just a freak. I wash my hands and sanitize things all the time. Before and after I eat, when I get home from any store, if I sneeze in my hand, after I use the restroom etc. And with women that don't wash their hands after they use the restroom I wonder, what if you just changed a tampon. Ew ew ew.
@lauralou3x3 changing a tampon and not washing your hands is completely unacceptable. But please, give people the benefit of the doubt! Most bathroom trips are quick, mess free & involve minimal touching of items others have touched.

The only thing more obnoxious than a drunk person is a person riding a high horse.
Dude, I've come out of a public restroom after merely changing clothes and make sure to wash my hands. Not because I feel dirty or unsanitary but because I'm scared of the other people in the bathroom judging me. Stranger glares suck.

Oh I should totally be doing that. But I have OCD and my mind automatically thinks of it that way lol. It's just one of my "cringe" moments.
