I just got a text from hubs saying the curtains we hung last night fell and now there is a huge whole in our wall from where the curtain rod fell... FML

I came home and he was cooking himself halibut for dinner. (I try but I don't like fish at all) So, then he asked me what I wanted... I asked him what he could make and this happened:
"Hotdogs"
"...we don't have buns."
"Turkey Burger"
"...we don't have lettuce (for a wrap)."
"Chicken"
"...we don't have any chicken."
"Spaghetti"
"...we don't have sauce."
"Well what do you want?"
"...You made that decision already. I will starve."
"I will go out and get you something, what do you want?"
"...NOTHING. DON'T GET ME ANYTHING, IT WILL TASTE BAD AND I KNOW YOU DON'T EVEN CARE BECAUSE YOU ONLY MADE YOURSELF DINNER."
"Ok" [Comes back with chicken, potatoes, and mac & cheese, while I pout watching TV]
See your problem was you were focusing on traditional dinner foods. YOU SHOULD HAVE SAID CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES!
In two days I will be 32 weeks.... Every time I have this thought my heart jumps. With my current diagnosis of a very possible preterm delivery I am slowly getting more anxious as each week moves along.
Oh so @Serenla, I thought you might appreciate this ( and I'm sure everyone else will just laugh at the geekyness) but DH has officially nick named our child Wolverine and that is how he is referenced to about 90% of the time...I have started to as well B-)

OMG if one more person expects me to be all happy and serenely pregnant I'm going to scream!!! MIL sent me an email on Monday to see how I'm feeling and I didn't reply because I've been in a bad mood this week (related to the whole unemployment pay being on hold STILL). She then called DH last night and texted him this morning to see if I was ok because I hadn't responded. Her email mostly consisted of how magical and happy pregnancy was for her, how can I worry about stuff like money/joblessness/pain/aches when this miracle is happening!?
I needed a couple days to put on my fake happy voice. I really AM excited for James to get here, but this pregnancy has sucked for me. It happened faster than we thought when we were just "not preventing" and I feel like it has been a bit overshadowed by having to deal with other life events the past 30 weeks--our wedding, busy season at work, being newly weds, getting fired, figuring out finances, etc. I'm sure I'll look back on this time with rosy glasses in the future, but for now, I just want to pee without getting kicked and sleep on my stomach.
Does anyone else feel like they are breaking "girl code" by not being ecstatic over waking up pregnant every morning? Just because I'm not shitting rainbows and glitter over it doesn't mean I want to be a mom any less than other women!
Fuck this snow, ice, and everyone who wanted it. It's only been a few hours, but it's coming down hard. I'm so pissed. The only good part of my day was my hair appointment and I had to wake up early after barely sleeping. (
I was trying to buy a brand new breast pump off someone on Craigslist who lives in another town. I said I'd drive up there on the weekend. She said she's going to be near my work today, but I can't leave my patient at the time she's going to be around (dental hygienist). She told me that if she's trying to be accommodating I should jump on it, so now she won't sell it to me. WTF. I'm WORKING you cow, not trying to be a pain.
Found this on my Facebook newsfeed. We may not be this far along yet, but I'm sure most of us can relate:
Lmao! When I was pregnant with DD I thought I was in labor but it was just has pains. In my defense, I was about 39 weeks too. I went to L&D and everything.
@Stace0616 Don't worry. I've been like this my whole pregnancy. I get tired of people saying enjoy it. It has not been a walk in the park and I'm constantly sick. Everyone is different and it's ok not to be ecstatic over the process of pregnancy. I don't understand why people equate lackluster feelings of pregnancy with not being grateful for a miracle.
I let DD drink some of my Starbucks coffee drink from the gas station. She took one little sip and is now running like a mad woman around the park. At least I took her here to burn off some energy.
Look at the adorable tiny baby tiger pillow I just got for the baby's room!!!! It's so cute and tiny! I actually didn't know it would be so tiny. It's almost more of a stuffed animal, really…
I don't yet have a crib, but I have the pillow to decorate it. Priorities, right?

Lol I give my kids sips of my coffee (Starbucks or home stuff) all the time...actually its more like they steal it when I'm not looking. I think because I drink so much while pregnant that they get no effects from caffeine They just might be addicted to it as I am.

I'm sure a few months from now when our babies start getting bigger and crawling around all over, we'll all look back on pregnancy fondly. After all, people do this more than once knowing what being pregnant feels like.
But for now? OMG get me some cake and let me vent, MIL!
Is there some special panties for pregnant women so you don't show panty lines? Like spanx but without the compression? I got a cute dress yesterday but it shows my panty lines and I hate that.
Spanx makes a maternity variety - no belly compression, just the legs as usual. I haven't worn them since December, and I'm planning on wearing them Friday, so I can give you an update on my thoughts on them then...
So about an hour and a half ago I get a call from my aunt (mom's sister). She says she and my dad have a surprise for me and my husband. I'm thinking, "Cool, they must've bought something for the baby!" She asks when we can come over, and I tell her we can come over whenever Brent (husband) gets home around 4:30 (an hour from now). She suggests a restaurant to meet at and says, "I don't think I can keep it a secret much longer," which in my mind changes everything.
Let me give y'all a brief back story. My mom left my dad about 18 years ago, but my dad and the aforementioned aunt had remained friends for the most part. They were friends even when my mom and dad were just dating. Well, about 8 years ago, my uncle left my aunt, and long story short, she and my dad have been living together ever since. He wanted to be there for her because he knew what it was like to go through a terrible divorce, and she needed a shoulder to lean on. She has always made it absolutely clear that they sleep in separate rooms and how much of "best friends" that they are.
But I'm here to call it! I'm calling that they got married at the JP. What the heck else could it be?? When she said "surprise" I thought present. But when she said secret it changed from present to information. Secret information.
Anyway, I just wanted to call it before I actually find out, and I needed somewhere "official" to do it. I can let y'all know afterwards if you want. I'm freaking out a little! I'd be okay with it, but at the same time it would be so weird having my aunt be my stepmom and my cousins by my stepsiblings. /:)

Ummmm congratulations... Or um... Hmmm what do you say in a situation like that? If you're cool with it, then awesome and I hope they are super happy together after all these years! Quite the twist in your day isn't it!?!? Can't wait to find out if you're right!
@poru Don't say that!! hahaha She'll be 54 in May, and I've seen her have hot flashes. I'd be completely shocked if that was it!
@Mamamonzo Exactly. I've been trying to convince myself that it can't be anything other than that and have been trying to figure out what I'm going to say and make sure I have a good poker face!

Being the caboose is so strange. I feel like there are all of these posts about symptoms that aren't happening to me and I just think I'm either weird or lucky. Then two weeks later, BAM I get that symptom too. This definitely happened with the increased discharge thread where I was glad I didn't have to deal with that and then suddenly my body decided I should join the club. Today I started freaking out because I feel like LO's movement has decreased and then I remembered a week or two ago all of the threads about how that as they run out of room there is sometimes decreased movement. In a way it's kind of nice to have you ladies pave the way for me so I know what to expect!

That's what popped into my head too. This is where I'm putting my vote so now I HAVE TO KNOW!

Random question. I rarely listen to anything I record or albums I have been recorded for. Does it make me AW-ish if I kind of like one of these albums now? I have been sneaking on to private sessions on spotify to listen to it. I feel weird!
@snmetz7@poru I just remembered that my dad had a vasectomy after my mom had me! (That's how he knew my little brother and sister weren't his.) So I know a baby isn't what it is. #:-S

haha. Not solo. Though, I did play our Duo album once with the sound off so it would at least have a play (we made $.05 from it!) Its some Italian pop album I recorded a few years ago. Kind of forgot I did it until I recognized the name somewhere. I just like what they did with the harp in the post-production stuff.
ETA, Should clarify, I was a studio musician on an Italian pop album. I, personally, did not record an Italian pop album. LOL
