@workinit We had to use the thermometer this morning. Poor kid.
@cl8badb Owww. Do you have to get your wisdom teeth removed?
LO starts his new daycare center tomorrow. I wasn't too worried til his grandparents came over today and he spent five minutes screaming in terror and clinging to me after they smiled at him. Now I'm dreading the drop-off with unfamiliar teachers.
Obviously every baby is different but L has been going through a major Mommy only phase and crying even if I leave him with his Dad but he has absolutely no problem when I drop him off at daycare so there's hope!
O's been biting me since November. Now that teeth 5&6 are poking through I'm so ready to throw in the breastfeeding towel. The issue I'm having is that he hates drinking milk now. He'll drink like 2 oz at a time and be done. We've been loading him up on solids and pouring breast milk into them so that he at least is getting more milk in him. My pedi isn't as concerned as I'd like him to be. I feel bad when my friends kids are all downing 6 oz bottles in 5 minutes when O barely drinks 4 oz 3 times a day when I'm at work. I think that why I haven't pulled the plug yet on his morning and night feedings. I don't know what to do about this!
My mom has William tonight so I can sleep! I am so glad he loves her so much so I can get some rest. He is so stubborn and sleep training isn't working. I am excited about the article that was posted on the not getting sleep thread! Trying that tomorrow. (After I have had sleep!)
@wasnotwas ouch!!! It hurts so bad Grayson did this to me a couple times, after I introduced formula he hasn't done it since. He can't be that smart really? Once his top teeth pop through I'm really gonna be scared.
I am I'm the same boat as @phishgirl29. Since Grayson prefers nursing I hate to give it up because he doesn't care for milk just solids and I'm worried he will miss out on nutrition. The days I work he just drinks a couple ounces at a time and waits for me to get home. I've never really wanted to continue nursing after 6 months but now I feel like I don't have much of a choice.
@wasnotwas - ouch!!! What a bugger! I hope it doesn't take too long to heal. Madeline has bit me a couple times, but thankfully never broken the skin. I screamed every time, and it's been quite a while since she's done it, so maybe she learnt?? I can hope right?
@libberluru He starts daycare March 9th. I just tried level 3 nipples today and he drank only 2oz of breast milk before he started swatted at the bottle. He then took 1 oz of milk out of his sippy cup in between bites do his avocado. My husband is home wih him and struggles to feed him bottles all day. I'm drying up too. Between him gnawing on my nipples for the past couple of months and going back to work, I'm ready to be done with nursing. I have enough of a freezer stash to give him a minimum of 2 bottles of breast milk a day until he's 1.
Is it normal to have a baby not drink milk? He's the same way with formula. Will only drink willingly from the boob. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong .
@subliminalrabbit regarding therapy...I know it's hard to find the time, but someone once said that you will have all the time for therapy once you are divorced...sounds harsh, but definitely puts things in perspective. GL to your family! If you need a sounding board, I know a few ladies with kids born in the same month who are great listeners
The past 2 weeks have been the hardest in regards to my marriage. Question for those with 2 or more LOs: do things really get easier marriage wise when you survive yr 1 of parenthood?
It really really does. Once your kid can stand/walk it even gets easier. The more they become their own person, the more you get back to being yourself. I wouldn't say it is ever easy, but it does get better.
@stargazer763 now i have the spaghetti version in my head and want a meatball!! "On top of spaghetti, all covered in cheese, i lost my poor meatball when somebody sneezed.... It rolled off the table and onto the floor... And then my poor meatball rolled right out the door..." Gotta love an Italian :bz !
Does anyone even know the real words beyond the first line? I have no idea how that song goes and with a music teacher for a mom, I know most kid songs.
3 nights in a row of waking up because she rolled to her stomach. I was really hoping we would sneak by withou that one I'm lucky she has only woken up once each night, and last night she was back asleep in about 10 min after I rolled her back. I have a feeling it is going to get worse before it gets better.
@bonnieK10 are you dealing with the same thing?

it rolled in the garden, and under a bush and then my poor meatball, it turned into mush!
Thanks to little richard singing this song on tv when I was little
I am stuck under a sleeping baby with a million things I need to do and I have a million things running through my mind. Random thoughts right now: 1. I have orientation for my new job today at 2. I am nervous, excited, and relieved. I don't want to go back to work but we need it financially. 2. Since my car is totaled we have to start looking for a new car. Part of me wants something with 4WD or AWD because of the snow we get here. But I am dreading looking for a new car. My car was almost paid off. We have to find a car that has a big enough backseat for the current car seat and any future car seats. 3. Today is our 2 year anniversary. It's been a crazy 2 years but we are stronger than ever as a couple and have the best little boy we could ask for.
Ok, my rant is over. Needed to get that off my chest.
Happy birthday to dS1!!! My little guy loves doing funny face selfies together. Love this guy. Oh and he will be SO excited to know I just learned a few more verses of "on top of spaghetti" because of you lovely ladies! Thanks!
CBC (in Canada) has really been doing a great job with our coverage up here, I think. Lots of live coverage and a good mix of highlights throughout the afternoon and evening. I've cried during every medal ceremony... Hormonal much?
Maybe this should go in the bitchfest, but enough with the freaking figure skating. Show me another sport. They have even showed the same performances two or three times! NBC you are killing me.
I watched the figure skating live yesterday on NBCsports, so I was annoyed when they should it again during their primetime coverage.
They also haven't been showing any medal ceremonies - or I keep missing them - I haven't seen any yet!
------------ I've only seen one medal ceremony last night for the Women's Snowboarding. I was thinking the same thing about the ceremonies.
@coliann31 If you're thinking of AWD, I absolutely love my Honda CRV. I have a 2012 which is the newer style. It has time is of trunk space, great gas mileage and I have never had any problems with it. But definitely check and see what your car seats fit in.
I did it… I succumbed to the peer pressure and bought the Playskool bandstand today at Babies R Us. LO and I were walking around the store and I just couldn't help myself. It was only $26! We didn't even have to pay for it because we used a gift card. I set it up already and LO seems to love it. He's trying to crawl forward to reach it, which is a first because he has only been crawling backwards. Definitely a good buy, thanks ladies!
You haven't seen crazy until you've seen two grown women battle over a seat on the train sumo wrestler style. I just watched a big chested woman use her boobs to basically bounce this other tiny woman off the train. Not sure why people get so ferocious on a train that if you take it from one end of the line to the next the trip can't last longer than 45 minutes. Relax people.
Quick question: is this super awesome bandstand toy meant for babies that can crawl or pull to standing? E can't do either yet.
It says sit, crawl, and stand on the box. LO is enjoying just sitting in front of it right now. But it has definitely enticed him to start moving in the 30 minutes that we've had it out of the box.
Popping in to say hey. I'm a busy B but am lurking here and there when I can. My last week before starting work and I have a mile long list of honey do's to tackle. I'll catch up when I can. Miss ya gals!
@subliminalrabbit I'm so glad to hear you got some you time recently (you soooo deserved it) and your DH is willing to do counseling. Sorry for the situation but wish y'all all the best. I saw this recently and thought of those of us weathering some marital storms..
I'm on my way to get the band stand now. It looks like we'll be cooped up in the house for the next few days because of snow, so I want her to have plenty of toys to play with!
This is an excellent idea. We're in the same boat. *scampers off to BRU*
Re: The thread of all threads!
I totally dug up the nipple shield and started using it again when LO got his first tooth. He's a biter too.

On Top of Spaghetti
On top of spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
I lost my poor meatball,
When somebody sneezed.
It rolled off the table,
And on to the floor,
And then my poor meatball,
Rolled out of the door.
It rolled in the garden,
And under a bush,
And then my poor meatball,
Was nothing but mush.
The mush was as tasty
As tasty could be,
And then the next summer,
It grew into a tree.
The tree was all covered,
All covered with moss,
And on it grew meatballs,
And tomato sauce.
So if you eat spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
Hold on to your meatball,
Whenever you sneeze.
What a happy kid song!! :-/
And not a moment too soon. I was about to google the going rate for exorcism in the Greater Boston Area.
