Guise, get this... There's a local FB page that sells stuff. Someone said they were moving and selling all their tools and would sell them all to DH for $1200 which was a steal given what they were selling! They drove an hour to deliver to DH today. He said they couldn't get out of there fast enough and not to judge, but had major meth mouth (we live in an area where the meth rate is suuuuuper high). They immediately messaged me and asked what bank we used. DH called me and said he had a really bad feeling that all these tools were stolen. He called the sheriff's office from their county and a detective is supposed to be calling him because there were some tools reported missing recently. I put a stop payment on the check in the meantime. I'm totally freaked out. I don't know what to tell them when they realize we stopped the check... They know where we live and have DH's phone number!

@kelly422 - that's super creepy!  I think notifying the Sheriff's office was definitely the way to go, and I'd keep my curtains drawn and my cell phone ready to call the police if anything feels sketchy!

@kelly422 have you heard from the police yet? If they call you about the cheque (check for the americans in the crowd), then apologize and say you aren't sure what happened... maybe tell them your DH and a friend of his(a very large friend) will return all of the tools to them at a local walmarts parking lot. Where there are a ton of cars and people around!

I decided to come back and join you ladies. I feel like everything has settled, and I shouldn't penalize myself for something I didn't do. We found out who messed with my car, and it was un-related to the board. Plusandalso I need some serious help with sleep training. HI AGAIN!

@ColieAnn31 - I could not agree with Zig more! We have a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder. We bought t before I ever got pregnant so it wasn't my first thought, but it's a pretty good size SUV so I never even considered that it could be an issue. The backseat is AWFUL for installing car seats. It just isn't deep enough. I'm sure it's not as small as some, but there is no way we could install a seat RF behind the drivers seat and still be able to drive. Definitely something I will be looking at more closely with the next vehicle we buy.

Glad to hear everything settled down. What about whoever called the police on you? Was that unrelated as well?

Whew, everything checked out. They ran their names and nothing came up. Police said to go ahead and reinstate the check and consider ourselves lucky for scoring such a great deal! Got the check "unheld", so luckily they won't ever know anything happened!

It was someone from May board who said they called the authorities on me. I never got a call, or received anything, so I'm guessing it was just a threat.

YGPM. I wasn't trying to blame the June13 board at all. There was just a lot of coincidences, and I wanted to lay low for a while until things cleared up.

Thanks for the car recommendations!!! We haven't decided for sure if we should just get an SUV or just stick with a sedan. We will definitely be taking the car seat with us when we look though!

Since folks are recommending cars - I'm going to put my vote out for a Subaru Outback.  It's basically an SUV these days (they used to run a little smaller) - but it's wonderful, AWD, decent gas mileage, and *really* safe feeling.  We got ours shortly before I got pregnant, and I am so happy we got it!

E had just fallen asleep on me when DH got home so I texted him from the nursery to let him know to be quiet when he came in. What does he do?? He starts clanging pots and pans and loudly chopping vegetables. The kitchen is connected to the nursery by a door so he things because he wants to make dinner that it's okay to bang shit around and wake her up. I know he read my text because we both have iPhones. I set her down gently and fling the door open and whisper yell for him to please be quiet, and he dramatically hurls a head of cauliflower across the kitchen, slams the knife down on the cutting board, and storms out. No "sorry" or "whoops my bad". JFC, DH, you're acting like a two year old. I swear our 7 month old controls her emotions better than you. I'd much rather eat a pb&j than put up with his temper tantrum.

Edit: sorry for the rant. I know I'm a bitch wife because I have a husband that wants to come home from work and start dinner and I griped at him.

My favorite is when people tell me my daughter needs to learn how to sleep through the noise. I'm pretty sure that's not teachable, she will either do it or she won't. So, when those people are sleeping I don't bother being quiet. After all, they have to learn how to sleep through it! 8->

@ilovemarfa her husband got a job at SUNY. She just had a baby in Dec (so I really do need to visit) and I think she's getting Canadian mat leave pay so she's not working right now.

@araziza let her know that there are some good moms groups here too. I'm a member of 2 of them and we have play dates often. They also have meet ups often for just moms as well.

Go check out Carmax! They are great and have all the cars. :-) if you find one online you like, they can ship it to your local store (for a fee, of course). My last two cars have been from them and I've had no complaints.

Thank you! We're waiting to see what the insurance people are going to do before we make a decision. We still have the rental for now. I am wanting a Chevy equinox lol
