    @colieann31 that's awesome! Glad Grayson likes the toy.

    @riansmommie I will PM you. :)

    @PSNLS We met with the coordinator but her assessment is the 18th. That was the soonest they could do it. There will be 6 people coming over to test her, and then they will tell me if she is approved for services with early intervention or not. In order to be approved she needs to have a severe delay in one area or a moderate delay in at least 2 areas, and they will look at everything- gross motor, fine motor, speech, etc... I will try to keep you posted. :)

    Don't like the assessment, but like that you posted!
    Agreed! I've been wondering about your LO.

    O wow! It may be a total loss?? That stinks. :(
    Yep, I owe just under $8000 so the damages are more than the car is actually worth now. Might have to start looking for a new car soon.

    Aw, thanks! I'm on the fence if I think she will qualify for services. I think her development is ok except her gross motor is behind. My sister has a 4yr old who has been in EI for years due to hypotonia (low muscle tone) and I feel like my daughter might have it MILDLY... Not as severely as her cousin... But she doesn't seem quite as strong as other babies her age and that would explain the delay in gross motor too. But it could just be that she is really relaxed and doesn't care about moving, too.

  • @kelly422 I think it was this thread you posted your daughters pig tails- wow! So cute!! Her hair is gorgeous, love the color, AND its longer than my baby's hair which I thought was crazy long!!!! Anyway, here's my little one with a single pony. Craziness.
    Aww, thanks! Her hair is really cute, too! :)
  • Totally random vent, but I just came across this while doing research: Just 2 to 3 people out of 100,000 are diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer. I thought lightning didn't hit twice? My mom's dad was diagnosed when I was 8, his dog was diagnosed when I was 9 (unrelated, but weird), and now my dad's mom has it? How is that even possible. I just don't understand. In the hospital my grandma held my hand and said "I hope I have a different outcome than your grandpa." Last weekend she said "I'm not mad at God, I just doesn't understand why he picked me", and I don't either. Sorry ladies, not baby related, but we aren't saying anything on facebook and I just needed to get that out. I should probably look into therapy.
    hugs to you, and keep us posted! We are here for you (in the creepy internet way of course)

    So I just totally bailed on my little sister. E and I were supposed to see her today because it had been a few weeks and she just broke up with her boyfriend of six years. She doesn't have a car so I would've had to drive an hour to pick her up and do something, and then an hour back. It would've taken the whole day, and I can't see her next weekend because the city is shutting down the freeway -- but after yesterday's breakdown and insomnia tonight, it became clear to me that I can't go another week without a no-commitments day and I just need time for myself. I'm rocking E with tears streaming down my face over bailing on her, that I can't be strong enough to make it one more week, but I just can't. Thanks for listening, my Bs. I just feel so lost right now.

    that sucks, I am sure your sister understands. Can you have tea or something over Skype for a bit? I hope you get some much needed and deserved R and R. eta-words

  • @subliminalrabbit I just wanted to echo what others said and you shouldn't feel bad. We all say that our babies come first, right? In order for our babies to be happy and well taken cared for, WE have to be happy and well rested. What you are doing is what's best for not only you but also E and you shouldn't feel bad about taking the day off from commitments.

  • @subliminalrabbit try not to feel too bad. Your sister is probably going through a really rough time but I'm almost 100% positive that she understands that you need you time. Take today to unwind as much as you can. Maybe spend a good chunk of the day talking to her on the phone! Just relax :)
