  • @Mamamonzo FX the contractions stop! Baby Monzo, you stay put and behave yourself!

@Aviola329 I'm glad the array came back normal! It sounds like everything is going as well as it can be so far!

Having seriously intense contractions. Not consistent at all but still there. I just want to make it through tomorrow. My shower is tomorrow and in the grand scheme of things it's not that big if a deal, but being on bed rest there is very little to look forward to. I want adult conversation and all the yummy food that we have planned!!!

    Fx crossed for you @mamamonzo

Whoa. Day 3 without electricity. This sucks big time!

How are you bumping?! Mobile? And are you using your car to keep your phones and stuff charged up? I can't stand having no power for an hour or longer - I can't imagine going 3 days without it! Especially since our stove is electric - no way to eat! How are you coping?!

So, Dh and I are talking about me quiting my job a month before my EDD. If I were to work up until labor  I wouldnt get mat leave anyway, even if I came back to work. My boss recently informed me all I would get time off wise would be my vaccation and sick hours which dont even equal one week and I would get a bill for my insurance (which I understand). Freaking out because we have to rethink all of our financials and DH hasnt heard anything form his union about health insurance. I would work until labor, but I am worried about running out of my current insurance while still in the hospital if LO had to go to NICU. DH thinks I should quit once I get on his insurance so I can rest before delivery and focus on taking care of myself.

That's stressful, I'm sorry! I do have a question though, are you even able to switch over to your husband's insurance right now? I thought open enrollment was only once a year (October?) unless you have a 'change of lifestyle' event (baby or marriage).

Loss of other coverage usually counts as a qualifying event. I'm sure each company has their own open enrollment time. Mine is may because our fiscal year is July to June. Good luck sorting it all out!

I think (but may be wrong) a change in job status may also qualify. I know when I was laid off a few years ago, I was able to hop onto DH's insurance in July.  It may have also worked since we had just gotten married, but I can't recall anymore...

The 3/31 vs 4/1 birthday thread irritated me to no end.
No ones gives a shit about being born on April Fool's Day. It's barely even a thing anymore. *I* think it's a stupid thing to worry about.

I will agree that it's a little silly since its not an actual holiday or a day with bad juju but since you do get to pick I can see why you'd pause and think for a moment.
DS was due on 8/4/11, but was born on 8/1/11. I'm due w/DD on 4/4/14. I regularly joke that I don't want a "repeat performance" of DS's arrival (ie coming 3 days early) so that I don't have to convince my mother that I really am in labor and not just pulling her leg as an April Fools prank. "No, mom, you *really do* need to come up and get DS...we're headed to the hospital now!"

That being said, it's totally a joke, meant to get a chuckle out of folks, but in reality I give no fucks about her actual birthdate, and in fact think it'd be kinda cool if both kids were due on the 4th of an A month (Aug/Apr) and ultimately born on the 1st of their respective A months. :)

ETA cause mobile bumping + autocorrect are being assholes.

  • T&Ps that the baby stays in awhile longer @mamamonzo!

  • @3crazykitties that sounds super stressful. I hope you guys get it worked out.

@KendraColeslaw thanks! I came across the fabric at the fabric store and fell madly in love. I'm in the process of decorating the master bedroom and the fabric fell right in line with the color scheme I chose.
  • My CD obsession is out of control. I need to buy ALL THE DIAPERS!!!

  • @medic99 I love Pho, so much that I've learned to make a fo-pho! At some Asian markets they sell Pho seasoning packets that you can add to broth then all you need is noodles, protein and some veg.

LOL @ "faux-pho"! But that sounds like a genius idea! Mmmmmm pho.... *drool*

  • Car seat saftey question: I know coats are a no no. Does that mean spring/fall jackets too? I have this little jacket that is about as thick as a sweatshirt, can that be worn while in the car seat? Where do you draw the line?

  • @stace0616 I probably wouldn't bother going. As mean as that sounds, I'd probably have a bad taste in my mouth the whole time and I wouldn't want to ruin anyone's time. I just think asking someone to pay for something you want because it's out of your means is kinda tacky.

    Ew, I said tacky.
  • It just baffles me how many people on Facebook think this is ok! Or are taking the "just don't expect gifts then" route. I'm trying to prevent a train wreck here before she ends up asking the same damn question on The Knot or WeddingBee...
  • Sometimes I feel so bad that DD knows that I had a miscarriage last year. Yesterday and today she has told me that she is afraid that Logan is going to die. It's so hard to reassure a 4 1/2 year old about something like that, because as we all know, its really out of our control.

I'm not sorry that she knew about the baby, just that she has to know the reality of life, if that makes sense. I love my sweet girl.

  • Sitting at a Starbucks alone for 3 hours while DH takes a big important test. So excited to get this time alone- then I realized that peeing is going to be difficult. If I get up, I won't want to leave my stuff on the table... But if I take it, my spot will most def get taken.

  • FTM freak-out?

After every appointment I always get paperwork back just to give an overview of the appointment, reminder for the next one, etc. It also lists my info at the top along with some basics about my pregnancy.

In the past it always said "Today You Were Treated For" and underneath "Supervision of other normal pregnancy" Today it said "Unspecified high-risk pregnancy" and underneath that "Anemia, antepartum"

What the heck?? Why wouldn't they tell me I'm now considered high risk and for what? It says unspecified, so it makes me think that it's not the anemia. But if it is, why wouldn't they tell me that when I was diagnosed like three weeks ago?? Or is it not that big of a deal?

I called to ask about it, but I've been waiting for 1.5 hours for a nurse to call me back. I've been worrying ever since. :(
