I just read the "how do you know it's real labor?" article on TB then all the comments people posted. WTF. It seems like almost all of them had a story of someone they knew or themselves going into labor without any pains. They just "didn't feel right" so went to the hospital and were 7cm dilated. Yeah, 'cause that's not scary for a FTM to read.

Having seriously intense contractions. Not consistent at all but still there. I just want to make it through tomorrow. My shower is tomorrow and in the grand scheme of things it's not that big if a deal,but being on bed rest there is very little to look forward to. I want adult conversation and all the yummy food that we have planned!!!

Two things from me today:

I wish I were having a shower, but this is #3. I don't want gifts (hell, we've been buying stuff every paycheck since 12 weeks, we don't need anything else!!!). I want the other parts of the shower. You know, the sherbet punch, cake, yummy food, friends, and a reason to get dressed up. Hahahaha. :-D

Today is the first day that I can type after the fabric rotary cutter incident of 2014. My finger is still the size of a grown man's due to the numbing block, but the docs all say not to worry. Hoping it goes down!!! Anyway, hey y'all!

Ok, 3. I'm about to try and shower and wash my hair for the first time by myself as well. Not feeling confident about the outcome, as I banged it on everything at the grocery store yesterday. Happy thoughts. Happy thoughts. Happy thoughts.

Hope your contractions let up. I laughed at this because my shower is next Saturday and the girls can come at any time. My sister told me not to have the babies before my shower and I told her I'd keep my legs crossed. If we both said that it must work!

So doc at appt today says I'm a inch short from measuring 3 weeks ahead, will give me one more appt to check before they will schedule a growth scan, but I haven't gained weight since 3 weeks ago. Not sure if this is a good thing or bad. They don't appear to worried.... This will be a long two weeks.

I love Pho! We have a restaurant next to us called Hello Pho, and it's huge portions for great prices. One large can last me three dinners for only $10. It was amazing first trimester.

When I was pregnant with my first, the nurse at my OB's office gave me some advice that I have always used to "know." If you the contractions don't go away when you lay down, drink water, take a hot shower or bath or go to sleep. It's real." False labor generally will slow down or stop when the above things are done, but real labor keeps on going.
