Am I the only one without a crock pot!? I need one. I'm so tired of cooking lately and it's all the same thing and boring.
Crock pot = mom's best friend! You do need one, it's amazing when you have a newborn, put dinner in the morning, let it cook all day and it's done at dinner time.
Just thought I'd catch up on here while on bed rest. The creative and adventurous swing my engineer husband built for us came crashing to the floor last night and my doctor has ordered bed rest in order for my stitches to heal. The pull up bar dislodged and surprisingly found its way up inside my ass. My husband tried to dislodge it but seeing as he was still inside me I figured it would be rude not to let him finish- he DID just make this awesome toy for us. So while he finished i dialed 911 since it was pretty obvious I needed medical attention. Somehow the bar had made a hole so that when my husband ejaculated the semen flew out my ass. However this really made the EMTs happy- they used the lubrication from the semen to dislodge the pull up bar from my rectum.
Thankfully the sheets were red so there isn't much damage there. I wish I would have read your warnings before hand...obviously I just didnt know what I was getting into!
I made a massive amount of baked ziti, in multiple batches - got 4 freezer meals, some for us, some for a friend whose husband has been sick, and dinner for tonight out of it. And DS ate the spinach I mixed in without any fuss or attempt to pick it out!
But a few hours of cooking totally kicked my ass; my back and feet are sore. I want to take bath, but I don't want to go clean all of the toys out of the tub - or really move from this comfy lying in bed position at all. Life is so hard, I know. :P We're supposed to have someone come stay with us next week, and I have no clue how I'll make the house presentable. Oh hell, and a super bowl party too.
Here's my little chef making the sauce! I laid out the spices and gave him a spoon, and he went to town.
SO handsome!! I let DS help me cook chorizo day-before-yesterday for breakfast...he's SO into helping right now, especially with the cooking.
DH bought some donuts today. I already ate one and there is one more for me (chocolate covered) and then another one (glazed) for him or DD. I really want both of them.
DH is going on a low carb high protein diet starting monday. Dinners will be interesting around here. All I seem to want is pasta and garlic bread for dinner and he's talking steak and more steak.
Mine is on a low cholesterol diet and it sucks. All I want lately is Pizza and cheeseburgers and he's not supposed to have any of it. It's hard, I try to get my fill when he is at work so I don't feel guilty eating it in front of him ;-)
DH is a workaholic and has only taken breaks to eat today. It's pissing me off. It's the weekend. I decided I'm sick of waiting on him to get dinner tonight, so I'm going to all the fast food places that sounds good, getting everything I want, bringing it home, and I'm not going to share. Anything.
My bf and I used to have these really fun Saturday nights where we would stay in, make some type of bar food like a wings platter with different sauces, play cards and get drunk. Then have crazy sex all over the house. I miss that.
@danamarie421 - I also don't use any fabric softner for DS1's clothes and I didn't use any for mine & DH's clothes for the first month or so (since i figured he would be laying on us a lot). We haven't had any issues with his clothes.

This! New Years Eve last year we made Pizza Rolls and drank a ton of Rum and had crazy sex. I even put Pandora on a station that played all the music from when we were in high school haha. It was a blast. It will be forever before we get to do that again!
I can't wait til the first time we do it post baby. I'm soooo leaving baby with my mother over night lol
GUYS. Ready for a complete AW, braggy post all about me? Sure you are!
So, I might have mentioned I own a cheerleading gym... Today, all of my teams won, got grand champions of levels 1, 2, and 3, and my junior 3 team won grand champions of the entire competition (meaning they had the highest score of everyone there). Because of this, they are being featured on the cover of a cheer magazine! They are coming to the gym and doing an entire photo shoot!
It was such an awesome day, unless you were from not my gym, in which case you just glared and gave me and my kids looks like you wanted to stab us when they announced our name over and over again... Hopefully they don't expect my fat butt to be in these pictures, because I'm looking not so hot with this bump...
Wtf is fabric softener? Is that something you use in addition to detergent/soap or is that just another name for detergent?
Is this an American thing or am I just that stupid...?
It is used in addition to detergent. Some people use a liquid that goes right in the wash. Some use sheets that go in the dryer. It keeps the clothes from getting stiff and from having static.
I feel like a bad bumpie but where do you live? I am sure you have said before?
Toronto! Apparently I might as well live on Mars because I seriously have never heard of it. Not that I'm all that invested in the laundry business per se...learn something new every day!
Interesting thing about that one... I was told by a washer repairman that unless you have hard water, it isn't especially beneficial to use fabric softener. Not all of them are great with high efficiency washers either.
So I have a stupid FTM question... I bought All Free and Clear laundry detergent to begin washing some of LO's clothes. It didn't even occur to me when I was in the store, but should I have also bought Free and Clear fabric softener? Are regular dryer sheets ok? I'm sorry if these are stupid questions, I am quickly becoming aware of how little I know when it comes to babies!!
It is ill advised to use fabric softener of any kind on your baby's clothing, as it destroys the flame retardant in the fabric.

Well, seeing as how I can't drink, I'd have to get sweet tea wasted, but this sounds like fun! DH and I may have to try this...like, tonight. Minus the food platter of course, cause A) ain't no way I'm cooking anything tonight after he gets home at midnight, and I've been shampooing my carpets for the last 6 hours.
Thank you to all who left me kind messages. I had a light bulb go off today. I realized I am looking at all these issues wrong. With my previous pregnancies, the baby had issues and I was fine. Physically fine. But in a constant state of panic and worry. This time I have all the issues and my baby is fine. I am beyond grateful to have a healthy baby. I would rather me have all the issues and not my baby. So I am going to deal with my issues but be happy that they are mine and not my son's. So a sincere thank you all for helping me realize this. I love you ladies!
WOO! It's 1:15am and I just finished shampooing my carpets...ALL of them (bedrooms, hallway, living/dining room, landing at the top of the stairs)...well, almost all - I still have to do the stairs. But those will come tomorrow if I'm feeling up to it. I started around 5pm today, so it took me a long time (plus I took frequent breaks to give my back a rest, and so as to not over-do it so I'll hate myself tomorrow). I'm pretty proud that I actually accomplished what I set out to do while DS is with my mom! Normally I'd end up half-assing it or only completing part of what I wanted to do, but I actually did it all this time! Highfive to me!
OMG, my husband earlier with the Google Maps GPS directions on his phone. We decided we wanted Culver's for dinner but didn't know where the one closest to our new apartment was, so I looked it up on Google Maps and turned on the audio navigation thing.
First thing DH did was name the voice "Cinnamon". When I asked him why, he said she was sassy and wouldn't take no for an answer. You just did things her way, or else! Ooooookay, whatever you say, weirdo. :P
When we finally reached Culver's he told me before we got out of the truck, "You'll have to put in our address again for the way home, 'cause I seriously have no idea where the fuck we are. This GPS thing is the shit!"
Pulling out of the Culver's parking lot, "Cinnamon" directed us a few miles around the block instead of telling us to just hang a left, and when we drove past where we'd basically just been DH called her a dumb broad. I mean, I can understand talking to Siri because at least she can "hear" you and respond, but... )

@soultermination I swear sometimes my husband is having an affair with Siri! He will get into these modes where he will try to banter back and forth with her. Also she always listens to him and seems to hate me! Lol

Went to bed with socks on my feet, woke up clutching one in each hand. :-?
I hate sleeping with socks on, but occasionally I'll be so cold that I'll give in and keep them on. I always wake up with socks all over the place, like I suddenly realize in the middle of the night how miserable socks are and can't stand it another second...
And thanks everyone! It was a super exciting day. I'll obviously AW myself and post the cover when it happens.
Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )
@megla I didn't know you were from NOLA either! There aren't many of us in A14.
