Got the crib! It definitely needs touching up but that's okay because I planned to repaint the furniture that's in there to match anyways. DH was so excited he put it together right away.

I made it all fresh the day of for a dinner party a couple months ago and THEN froze the leftovers in Tupperware containers with the leftover juices. So tonight we just put the frozen cube of meat and juices in a saucepan over medium until it was hot enough to eat. You could realistically use it for tons of recipes, but seriously, nothing beats just the meat and a little Mexican cheese in a soft tortilla for me!

Hubs and I both teared up at that mass wedding on the Grammys... Such a cool moment!! (Although Madonna kind of ruined it a little for both of us)

Finally! Nursery is clean and devoid of all non-baby things! We set up the twin bed today and I keep looking at it and thinking "I'm going to be snuggling my baby there soon". Only a few more days and then my parents will be up here to put the crib and changing table together It's getting real!

Hi ladies! I thought I'd pop in and check out what this thread is all about Anyone else in the midwest? I'm sitting here listening to the wind seriously howl outside our living room windows and debating whether or not I should call in sick tomorrow. It's going to be -45 by 3 a.m. and I'm panicked about going outside in that. Eek! Anyone else dealing with this? How are you coping?

Yep. I'm in Chicago and we are dealing with it too. It sounds like the wind is going to blow my windows in! I'm not currently working or I would be calling in sick tomorrow. My DH is because we only have one car and I am not driving him and he certainly isn't taking the bus is this nonsense! I always just worry about my car breaking down when it gets this cold and being stuck in it. Tuesday is supposed to be just as cold! I am SERIOUSLY over this winter!

irisheyez7, I'm in Chicago too and was just reading Tom Skilling's report for the week. Talk about depressing. I am leaning toward calling off, but have a similar situation to you: We only have one car and I'm the one with free parking at work, not DH. I'm anticipating him insisting on going to work tomorrow and just saying "Don't worry, I'll take the bus." Yeah, right! This weather is getting downright surreal! Let's go, spring! I hope you stay warm and cozy tomorrow!

I'm in Minneapolis and they already cancelled school for tomorrow. DH switched places with me so he could park his car in the garage. I don't plan on going ANYWHERE tomorrow! It's a pajamas and Downton Abbey kind of day. Especially after doing so much around the house today.

Dear high school students that I currently employ,
Stop being irresponsible little shits. Your teachers prepped you well on how to interview well for a job- bravo. I took a chance and hired you, turning down equally qualified applicants who happen to be older. I do not appreciate you repaying me by flaking out on your job, specifically "oh I can't work Mondays anymore because I decided to learn bass guitar" and "yes it's after 10pm on Sunday night, but I remembered I'm failing math so I need Tuesday off to get a tutor" while simultaneously hearing "I need more hours" (which actually means "I want you to pay me but I don't want to work")

I seriously cannot wait until this shit is no longer my problem. It's not like I manage a retail store so if someone calls in I just have to deal with 4 sales associates instead of 5. Oh no, I manage 10 licensed child care before/after school programs. If someone bags out last minute and I have no one to replace them, I am out of ratio and, therefore, out of state licensing compliance. And if I have to cover for someone until at least 6pm after starting work at 9am (I don't take lunch breaks) I will be one insanely irritated 30 weeks pregnant woman.

Side note: hoping DH hears back about the job he interviewed for soon!!!

@MrsStanton87 Yea, I think its allergies. We've been moving a lot of stuff around in the house stirring up dust, and building Ikea stuff. He's sitting here staring at me, like he normally does, as we speak. 

Woke up too early because I was hungry. Luckily, I don't have to go to work until tonight!! YAY!

Also, it drives me nuts when people say they got sick because of the weather. Weather does not make you sick!!! (Unless we're talking allergies.) But it certainly doesn't give you a cold. You got sick because you caught a virus. //mini rant over//

AGREED! My mom says this all the time and it drives me crazy! "Your going to catch a cold out there". Um no mom, I won't, I'll catch a cold from coming in contact with a cold virus but thanks for your concern!

I love the blanket @aviola329! I tried to learn knitting once, and I could sorta do it, but I'm such a perfectionist that I got really annoyed and gave up. I'll stick to building things like shelves and whatnot - that seems to be where my talent lies anyway.

Oh my fuck!!! I had the strangest dream! I was in this aparent that my twin and my mom lived in for a few years when I was little. My baby's hand was pressed up on my belly from inside. I mean like I could see his entire hand it was so adorable. Then my belly started to look transparent I could see baby's face looking up at me and then he was suddenly born. He just came right out. Then I put him on the couch and he looked like a 6 month old. My sister swaddled him and brought him back to me and he looked like a new born again. I started nursing him and blood was just running out of me. My mom started blasting matchbox twenty's "If You're gone" and demanding that we do our chores. Then this giant breed dog grabbed me by my thong and swung me around like a rag doll while I was holding the baby. Then I jumped up out of my sleep.

I'm tired of wearing work clothes. I hate my black dress pants and want to burn them!! Plus I started wearing this maternity support belt and it's making my belly look strange. Annoying!!

Really wishing I had gotten my wisdom teeth removed. I chickened out and now they're sore coming in. Also, one doesn't look like it's coming in correctly. I just hope that they'll pause on the serious growing in until after April. Ughhhh.

I think my ass has been growing right along with my bump and ones that were working are now cutting into me! I'm just going to go buy a bunch of cheap ones to make it through the next 10 weeks.

Anyone ever get that moment where you cringe when you're buying something with your credit card that work reimburses you for? Its like, I know I get the money back, but, I don't want it to go out in the first place.

My nesting phase has ended. I'm hoping that when we come across some money, it'll motivate me to finish the nursery and start painting DD's room. I was on a roll for a little while but now my energy has been replaced with naps!
