My belly button hurts. I still have an innie. I assume pain is normal because everything seems to hurt during pregnancy? When will this go away? Once it pops?
I'm getting this as well.

Someone talk me down. I am starting to freak out about breastfeeding. I hadn't really thought alot about it passed the fact that I want to do it. Reading the nursing must haves thread has my head spinning. I don't even know where to begin when it comes to buying supplies. I didn't think about the fact that I will need to sleep in a bra. That is a silly complaint but this is all so new and seems like such a huge commitment.
Talk to other moms as a start! I've already talked to my older sister who has #3 on the way (she's a working mom/pediatrician to boot - double awesome!) and has already done this twice, and I've also talked to another friend who wasn't able to breastfeed. The biggest thing I've gotten out of it isn't so much how I'm going to do it, but that no matter what happens, I know I'll do whatever I can for this baby. Even if it isn't my original plan, whatever I have to do will be OK in the end. Plus, I figure trying to breastfeed is a small commitment in the grand scheme of committing to raise this LO to adulthood.
I guess my point is figure it out in small doses - it's much easier to tackle bits and pieces of the problem/plan than all at once; much less daunting that way too!

It will be ok, it seems like this huge commitment and crazy talk now because you aren't doing it and you've never done it before. Newborns eat a lot, you'll be feeding a lot and you'll be sore and overwhelmed, but then the 6 week point comes and you feel completely different. I don't know what happens at 6 weeks, but it's like the soreness goes away, they sleep a little longer, you get more confident in what you're doing and all the tension and nerves go away. Talk to the nurses and lactation consultant in the hospital, also see if there is a LLL in your area. Also, check out kellymom.com - I love that website and lived on it at first!
ok so I want to make a scrapbook for baby and was wondering if anyone had a good source for the cookie cutter baby pages like weight/height etc. I'm sure I could make cute ones on my own but I wouldn't know what all to put short of buying a baby book and returning it after I'm done lol

Try not to freak yourself out. It may seem really overwhelming but the more research you do and the more questions you ask, the more you mind will be at ease. My advice is to take a breast feeding class. It's helpful to see it in front of you, as opposed to reading about it because then it clears some of the scariness away. It's also kind of a learn as you go thing too. I never realized I needed lanolin until my nipples were so sore I couldn't wear a shirt so I went and bought some. Same with breast pads, everyone has their preference. You most likely would have learned quickly about the bra thing when you realized your boobs leaked so you need something to hold the pads in. It's not as bad as it seems, I promise!

Check on Pinterest. There are free printables on that site for just about everything!
Oh god. I just drove by the hospital I'll be giving birth at. Things just got real and a little scary. I feel like I should be apologizing to my body in advance...

I know what you mean! I work across the street from it. Like Peyton Manning could throw a football into the front doors from where I sit. Every time someone comes in and asks where I will deliver I point across the street. I have to force myself to ignore it.

They probably have kits at Michael's or hobby lobby or Joann's.
Mom to 10 year old DS and 7 year old DD. Twin girls coming soon!
One of my friends had her baby today, her due date was 2/17. Almost a month early.... Wow... I could have a baby in march I'm getting nervous.
My 3rd, I was due March 2nd. His birthday is Feb. 2nd. My 2nd was also a 36 weeker, I'm fully intending on being ready to go in March and having everything lined up in case this happens again.
I don't have a lot of Callen's book done, but I can snap some photos to share if you like.
I would love. I'm more in love with the boy colors than the girl ones, do any of them specifically mention the sex? I don't think that teal and green are really "boy" colors by default. but then again I'm not really a pink person

When I had my first 3, whenever someone would say "when I had babies 5,10,etc. years ago," I would roll my eyes and politely say, a lot can change in just 5 years.
OMG, I'm that person now!
:-<
I went to BRU today and said holy shit about 15 times. It's like I've never had a newborn before. There is SO much that's different, and my youngest will be 6 in a couple of weeks.
I feel like a first timer all over again when it comes to car seat safety (for example, the law was 1 year and 20lbs when he was a baby, but two years was just a recommendation) I think 2 years rear facing is the law now right? For sleeping, I had NO idea the AAP recommended baby sleeping in the same room for 12 months. Holy shit. I suddenly feel so unprepared and overwhelmed all over again.
@fourthnlast for car seats 2 years is still only a recommendation from the AAP and the NHTSA actually recomends until the 4th birthday or as long as possible given the limits of the car seat. Laws are still behind and some states are proper use states and some are still the 1yr and 20lbs.
I actually haven't heard about the recommendation of room sharing until 12 months and my youngest is 22 months.
~Missed MC at 8 weeks. D&C at 12 weeks on 4/17/13~
Cooking dinner and DD comes in to tell me she is done playing with her expensive stickers. I went to look at what she meant and there are stamps.everywhere. I am impressed, however, that she knows they're expensive. :-/

Feeling better! Our first was in our room until his 1st birthday because we lived in a 1 bedroom apt, but the 2nd and 3rd went into the crib and out of our room about 1 month or so and that was the plan for this time around too.
Yeah, we wouldn't be able to room share that long. Nothing fits in our bedroom (bought our king size before we went house hunting... thing barely fits) so I'd have to bedshare for a year (thus kicking DH out of bed... for a year) or sleep on the couch with kid in the PNP for as long. No bueno.
That's our situation too. We have room for the PNP in our room, but not the crib.

My dogs spit the pill out and lick the peanut butter off, it's annoying! We open their mouth, throw the pill as far back as possible, clamp mouth shut, blow on nose and massage neck...it's sadly a two person job for us
My almost 2 year old is a druggie. He had a horrible cold and pink eye and all kinds of stuff so he's been on a bunch of meds for a few weeks. He's great about taking meds, he will come running for them. Well he's better now and doesn't need meds, but he disagrees. Every night at bedtime for the past week, when it's time for him to go to bed, he screams MEDS!!! And has a complete meltdown. I have totally been giving him water in the syringe and saying it's meds...I'm to tired to fight it.
Judge away, but I am SO EXCITED that Honest Company brought back the purple leopard diapers. We are going to CD, but we are moving about a month after the birth so for that month she will be in disposables. I am seriously paying an assload to make my baby have a cute purple leopard tush and I don't care...
Before I order these diapers, let me know (like, ASAP) if you want to "invite" me to get referral credit for Honest Co... I think you get $20 credit since it's my first purchase.
Interesting fact I learned at my birth class tonight: apparently in the state of Oklahoma if you have a c section for any reason you will not be able to have a vaginal birth with any other babies. The exception to this is a teaching hospital. I guess it has something to do with previous liability lawsuits. Kinda annoying that a bunch of men in suits can decide how I give birth.
We've always stuck pills and capsules for the dog in a hunk of cheese and wrapped it in lunch meat. The dog wolfs it down so fast, she never even notices a pill in it!
