So happy!! We just went to my son's neurology appt to find out the results of his CT scan and everything was perfect!! He just has an off the charts large head. Hats are not in his future...
I bought this natural deoderant and I want to love it so bad but the last time I used it, I smelled like fat bastard in a sauna by the end of the day. I'm giving it another go today but hopefully it works.

Been there done that!! I hae super sensitive skin and I've tried so many natural deodorants. I think they made me stink! Dove it is for me. Good luck!

Me too! I put it on then end up putting on DH's deodorant as well. As soon as it runs out I am going back.
For those STMs, did you ask close family members to get the vaccine? I don't want to put my baby in jeopardy but don't want to be crazy about it either...
28 week (well technically 27.5) GTT in a couple hours! Choking down some eggs right now and they are NOT the same as my morning muffin and coffee. Though baby seems to be excited? As soon as I started eating them, I've been getting kicked all over! They are my dad's recipe for cheesy scrambled eggs with a heavy sprinkle of seasoning salt but still taste "off" to me right now.
Can't wait to eat my old favorite foods after my hormones settle down!
Can we talk about whooping cough for a minute?

Nope. Going to be honest and admit that I didn't get the vaccine either...never could remember too.
I think that if you get it and are breastfeeding you will help pass along the protection to your baby.

My shirts no longer fit and I was getting annoyed until I got measured on Monday and measured at 41 weeks. Guess my belly will just hang out the next 7 weeks.
Mom to 10 year old DS and 7 year old DD. Twin girls coming soon!
I'm secretly glad that our front desk lady called in today. 1) she was hacking up a storm yesterday and I really don't need to be sick right now and 2) it's my day to cover for her, so instead of just 1 hr away from advising students I get the whole day it is like a mini break!

So it's frigid and snowed/iced in today, the government's closed, and I have no idea about my interview. I'm sure the hospital is open, but I'm guessing the outpatient programs would be closed, and I have no idea if the HR rep would be in. She's not answering her phone, but that's not unusual, we set this all up by phone tag.
And of course DS threw a huge shit fit just as I was leaving a voicemail for her, so that was super professional.
I guess I go in if she doesn't call back just in case? DH is home and offered to drive me, but then DS is in the car too. Crappity crap, I really don't want to go out on these roads for nothing!
If you can't get a hold of her, then I would probably go in just in case
Yeah I think I've officially given up on real pants. Being plus size, pregnant AND 6' tall is not a good combination for pants, so I vote for leggings from here on out!

We had anybody who was spending a lot of time around DS1 get it, but it was also September and there were a lot of active cases here. I was also pretty paranoid about the idea of having a really sick newborn. The shot is supposed to last for several years, so all of our family will already be good to go when DS2 arrives. I probably wouldn't be as worried with an April baby though.
I asked my MIL to get the shot since her and I live together and will be the only people around the baby for a good while. She rolled her eyes and ignored me. So, I'm assuming she won't get it which bothers me to no end.
DH and I will get Tdap soon. He's never been immunized (for anything) so I want him to have a tetanus shot anyway (part of Tdap) and mine is up this year too. I was hoping to wait a few more weeks to get them- probably mid feb.

now my blah yuck feeling has made a turn for sinus infection. i have the headache, some pressure, sore throat & drainage. i hate being sick. i hate being sick and not able to take my usual drugs even more naptime is in my future today, seeing how i'm all bundled up on the sofa in my crabby blankie. i feel like i've turned into the whiney sick pregnant woman
i'm starting to feel like the resident recipe person, lol. nothing wrong with that, i love baking and cooking!

Trader Joe's has one that is amazing. It's their own brand and just called "Unscented deodorant with cotton." I have legitimately contemplated buying a case of it just in case they ever decide to discontinue, but that seems a little too crazy to actually follow through with.
I have tried many, many other brands of natural deo and it all stinks - figuratively and literally! Tom's of Maine also gives me pit rash, so that's super fun, too.
But seriously. TJ's. It's great. Haven't gone back to "regular" deodorant in almost 2 years now.
No fun @sarlimes34! I know how you're feeling; I'm just now getting over the same thing (sinuses, ear, and lungs - ugh!). I feel much better, but apparently I still sound like crap, according to my mother. /:) I admit the hacking cough that sneaks up outta nowhere doesn't help my case much though. I also discovered a new sinus infection symptom for me - if I blow my nose to hard, I make myself dizzy!
Go ahead and be whiney though - dealing with feeling crappy is bad enough. Having no good medication to take to help makes it even worse. I also highly recommend just sleeping whenever you need it - it really does help!
Pretty sure work knew I was trying to sneak away and take a small nap. I have gotten more phone calls, emails, and texts in the hour I was planning on napping than I ever have....Stop contacting me! I just need like 30 minutes of quiet! (
Guess I got my welcome to 3rd tri yesterday. Spent most of the day in major discomfort and then today I realize that my belly looks smaller and is lower (there is space between the boobs and bump!)...guess kiddo is already starting to drop and settling in low.
Glad it's not just me and my imagination! I noticed the same thing with the bump!
Can I be an asshole (when am I not)? But are we going to have an influx of lurkers or hdbd-only participants posting their birth stories?
Ok typing that out I feel like a jerk.
I've been kind of MIA lately and feel really behind on this thread.
My son has decided no nap is a good idea yet again. I'm so tired and my joints are on fire (bad day for my genetic condition..that pregnancy only makes worse). My whine for the day, I wish we lived close to family so I could send him to my moms house for the day and I could just curl up in bed. I miss real pain meds. Whine over.
I never asked my family to get their immunizations when they saw DD and won't this time either. However, my best friend isn't immunizing her DD and it makes me nervous. If DS is immunized they I should have nothing to worry about, right?
I have had period like cramps that are more noticeable the last few days. I am not sure if it is from over doing it last weekend, not enough water or something else. They come and go but are pretty annoying right now. Maybe they are growing pains? Would you be concerned?
I would personally only be concerned if they were coming in waves (contraction like) at 4-6 per hour and didn't go away when you drink a shitton of water and lay down. And like always, call your OB if you have any spotting or loss of fluids. Otherwise I would probably just track it, try to get some rest, drink a lot of water and mention as an FYI at next appointment.

My main concern is always the first few months before LOs can get their shots. They should get some immunity through you if you get yours while pregnant and breastfeed though. Same issue with the whole immunization schedule though. Example: there was a measles outbreak in our area last year, but DS1 couldn't get the shot for it until 12 months, so it was more risky for him to be exposed to potentially un-immunized carriers if that makes sense.
I finally started buying some clothing for this LO about two weeks ago, and now I just want to buy all the things! I rediscovered Gymboree (I lived in their stuff as a kid) and I am so screwed...
The only thing saving me is the fact that my showers aren't until the end of February - it's forcing me to not buy too much!
My husband got a tdap vaccine and I just got mine 2 weeks ago. No one else will be around baby enough to warrant them getting vaccinated since my family is all out of town.

I want to buy all the things, too!! We had our big shower last weekend, so I allowed myself to buy the crib mattress and a mattress pad today so I could feel "done" with the crib. Some friends are throwing a second shower in a few weeks but I have insisted that I am way more excited about hanging out with them and seeing their faces than gifts, so I feel pretty good about taking care of the bigger ticket items that family didn't get. We'll probably get more clothes and cute little things people can't resist from here on out.
Starting to panic a little. We have one car, that said car will not fit a 3rd car seat in the back, its a Civic. We have to trade it in and break even on the trade for it to work...I'm so afraid that we wont be able to get into anything because we wont get financing. I'm pretty much obsessing over this issue.

I get very light cramps everyone once in a while, not often. I forget to bring it up to my OB every time. I assumed it was a light BH I was feeling, now I get a full on BH every so often and no more cramps. Not sure if this was any help at all to you, hahah, sorry....

@thomas930 - could you get different car seats? I know they are expensive, but it would save you getting a new car? We have a Nissan Sentra, which has a pretty small backseat and can fit 2 Radians and a keyfit. Maybe look at doing 3 Radians across and forgoing the infant seat? I think they have one of the narrowest frames.
I'm kind of stupid excited for this (padded panties for cycling), since my main complaint about cycling is discomfort.

This is great. DH and I went on an 11 mile bike ride last year and I was bruised/couldn't walk right for days.
