I've reached the stage of needing a daily massage for my back muscles. They are so tight! I tried to work out the tightness on a foam roller but then almost puked up acid. Painfully tight back muscles or puking acid?? I'll take the sore muscles I guess.

Lori I am with you! I tried foam rollers but it was so painful I couldn't take it.

Yeah, it is painful. That's why I think we need to convince our DH's to get us massages!

I miss my hot yoga =( By the time I'm able to do it again it will have been a year since I stopped, and I will be starting all over again, if I'm even able to do it while breastfeeding.
I tried a few months after DS was born and definitely had less milk. I would drink a ton of water and it didn't seem to matter. I had to hold off for a few more months, then got pregnant again and had to quit again. Boo.
i feel like blah yuck but made awesome taco pizza for dinner. i went to a breast feeding class this morning and was not impressed with the instructor. she kept making references how medical professions at the hospital and new parents overfeed their kids on formula and a womans body was made for it. basically formula was a poor second choice and it shouldn't be used.
i understand that breast is best and if i decide not to BF for whatever my reason may be, i don't need a lactation consultant making me feel like shit for my decision. i am hoping to be able to but there may be a chance i won't. i'm going into it with an open mind and a positive attitude about it but my experience today left a kind of negative impression on me

I am sorry that she made you feel that way. I feel the same way. I am going to give it my best and hope for the best results but if it doesn't work out I have no qualms about formula feeding. Actually no one in my family has ever breast fed, I am going to be the first! Go with what you feel is best for you and your baby. It will all work out fine in the end.
On another note: Do you have a recipe for your Taco Pizza? I LOVE IT, but the local place that makes the best one is really pricey, I might want to try and make our own...
@irisheyez7 - i take pizza dough in the tube and roll it out on a cookie sheet. use taco sauce instead of regular pizza sauce. sprinkle taco meat on top. i love thin sliced onions on mine. add other usual taco toppings such as gr pep, black olives or whatever you like. top with shredded cheddar cheese and bake for 15-20 min or until the crust is done. top with lettuce, tomato, sour cream and/or salsa or whatever works for you. i played around until i came up with this combo and it tastes great
I should NOT be watching birthing videos right now. All I can think is HOW IN THE NAME OF FUCK am I supposed to fit a head the size of a softball through an opening I normally can barely fit three fingers into?! *scared* :-S
A14 Siggy Challenge (November): Favorite Fall Smell
This week has been overwhelming, so it was nice watching snow fall tonight. I refuse to buy maternity clothes and came up with a trick for my pants. I wear yoga leggings underneath my pants that are uncomfortable to button. I leave them unzipped and roll the yoga band over the top. I've been doing this for a few months. I hope it helps you!
I think I just made a bad decision. I enrolled in school for the next term which does not start until Feb 5th. I am hoping and praying my classes end before this baby comes. Please tell me I can do this and that I am not a completely crazy person. I need to finish my dang degree and I am trying to get in as much as I can before baby. It is going to be so much harder to finish with 3 kids. I am going to get my degree even if it kills me!! That is my ticket out of Phoenix!
I feel like a zombie. Why does my body insist on waking up at 1sm and staying awake for 2-3 hrs before being able to go back to sleep!? Is it the weekend yet

I totally did this. Then DH made me buy maternity jeans. He told me I was squishing the baby. *eye roll*
Ugh I'm so tired. Woke up every hour to pee last night. Then DD woke up at 6:15 bc DH was getting ready for work. We tried to go back to sleep but nope. Hopefully she takes a nap today.

I started and finished a Lit degree within a month of DDs birth. It was rough, but doable. As a mom you learn very quickly how to make things work. You are not crazy...the sooner the better.
Today is the first day since the flu and trip to Michigan that I am not working, and I was really excited to be able to do all the things I wanted that have been back burner-ed. But now I am just overwhelmed. I'm gonna eat instead. Kiddo is going through a growth spurt, I think. Starving.
Guess I got my welcome to 3rd tri yesterday. Spent most of the day in major discomfort and then today I realize that my belly looks smaller and is lower (there is space between the boobs and bump!)...guess kiddo is already starting to drop and settling in low.

I know the feeling! This kid has been low and transverse the whole time, so the drop wasn't what did it for me - it was the fact that I could barely move my left leg after sitting/laying on my side for an hour. Apparently this child really likes to pinch the nerve on that side and I can't tell until I move to get up... Hello discomfort and pain!
First items were purchased off our registry today! I am so excited! It's like Christmas! Even if it was just a thermometer :-)
What kind of thermometer?
The Braun ear thermometer...we were torn between that and the temporal scanner but went with the tried and true one :-)
bubble burster - the ear thermometer and temporal scanners are really inaccurate for infants. And any doctor is going to ask you take babies temp rectally (which is actually easy). Our hospital sent us home with a rectal thermometer.
I was taught in nursing school that rectal temps are no longer recommended because people don't know how to do them properly so now they recommend under the armpit.

DH made a comment that he thinks I've lost weight. He says there is a space between my boobs and belly now. I'm just going to chalk it up to being the baby is growing and dropping.

Amazon says you can use the braun ear thermometer rectally, orally, and under arm too! I checked for that.
Agreed. I work in a large pediatric hospital - and we did away with ear thermometers years ago due to inaccuracy. We do use temporal, but they are still heavily unreliable and always use a rectal if the child "feels warm" but is registering a good temp. I personally would just get a basic rectal/axillary thermometer for an infant. (Under arm is also unreliable anytime an infants arms arent pinned to their side for a period of time).
ETA I just noticed you said the ear thermometer could be used all ways...interesting. They are usually built completely differently.
Well, it appears MTV is the only station that has not jumped on the "log in with your provider" wagon...guess i'll be catching up on the Real World and Teen Mom!

STM question: do you take your pump to the hospital? Will it help with milk production?
