  • @orlaithsheanon16 did I say YOUR baby was barefoot? Didn't think so.

If you read my response to @roostermemphis you would see where I said they are a very necessary accessory. If you don't want your baby in shoes....whatever. Mine will always be in shoes.

Oh ok. Good for you. You are totally entitled to do what you want with your baby. I would prefer my baby's feet to develop properly than have him decked out in the latest accessory. That's just me.
Oh, well aren't you "mommy of the year" lol. My LO will stay "decked out in the latest accessory" and his feet will develop just fine, thanks though.

FWIW, @washingtonqueen and @roostermemphis I appreciate you two agreeing to disagree on this topic. To each their own right? @orlaithsheanon16 to imply that those of us who choose to put shoes on our baby's and that their feet will somehow not develop properly...*rolls eyes*.

  • My kids are barefoot alllll the time. Never in public, then they either rock a pair of fuzzy non-restrictive-because-heaven-forbid-something-be-close-to-their-feet boots or crocs. Oh yeah, red carpet here we come!

I meant barefoot as in soft soled shoes. But by 3yo though, I'll have her in heels. Never too early to be a lady! ;)

Why wait until 3? Here they have some for 0-6months!

    Shit...why not? @roostermemphis :)

I'm doing what I think is right and you're doing what you think is right for your LO. I just feel like I need to defend where I am coming from given that you "judge" moms who don't put shoes on their LO's. Your the one who started with the judgemental attitude.
Also I would love to be mom of the year but sadly I fell short on lots of things, maybe next year..... ;)

  • Not to be all blah blah about it, but most shoes on baby feet can hinder proper development. Robeez and the like are ok because they are basically socks, but anything with a real sole isn't ideal.

Meh, he wears them when we go out and when he's at home with the nanny/or us he has on socks. I'm fine with my decision.

Oh yea, that implication was really "defending". As previously stated, do you. I don't mind taking flames from those that disagree. It's my FFFC, whatever.

With all the research I've done, and I really have because people gave my mom SHIT for it back in the 80s/90s, I'm going to have to agree. I didn't get my first pair if soled shoes till I went to kindergarten. My mom is a whack job, but some of the stuff she did was ok. @californiadream I also totally understand where you're coming from. This is why I'm trying to make my own baby stuff because I'm vain in that regard and I want her to look cute as fuck. :)

Right no one is trying to make anyone feel bad for putting shoes on their kid but it is a proven fact hard sole shoes are bad for development. Like I said before hard soles=bad, soft soles =basically socks.

    Yep.

"Stiff and compressive footwear may cause deformity, weakness, and loss of mobility."

Now with all this being said, I have a pair of Juicy Couture shoes a friend got for DD that she will be wearing for pictures.

Well that is great information. All of his shoes (except 3) are made with soft soles. :)

  • My friend posted this article on fb: https://zenpsychiatry.com/love-is/

My fffc is that while I feel empathy for the woman, and am glad she is getting treatment I'm also really annoyed. She was able to expedite treatment/tests because of who she knows. I lost one of my best friends on September to cancer and she had to wait weeks sometimes to find out results. I know this is how the world works- but it really sucks that everyone cant find faster answers when they are in a scary place in their life.
