Re: FFFC

  • I secretly feel bad for my nephew...he is 3.5 and my sister has let his hair grow way out. It's past his shoulders, red and curly...people comment about "her hair is beautiful" all the time.
I would never say anything to sis though, her kid her choice.

  • I honestly do not like baby shoes...don't get me wrong they are so darn cute...but absolutely pointless. I have a hard enough time getting socks on that wiggly little monkey , let alone putting shoes on as well. He has at least 13 pairs...he got 4 new pairs for christmas. ...dough!

I think they are sooo cute! Pointless (since he doesn't walk), but cute nonetheless.

I use them to keep his socks on when it's cold and we're going out. Otherwise his socks are on the ground. And I refuse to be "that mom" who has her kids barefoot when it's cold out. I hate that!
  • LO had mashed sweet potatoes on Xmas. He made the best faces everrrrr! But I think it ended up hurting his tummy a bit so we're backing off the solids for now.

It was super cute to have him in his new high chair and eating dinner with us!
  • H and I have both taken off the week between Christmas and New Years since we had the big one - it's really great family time that we don't often get since we both work.

All that being said, I will prob go into the office on Mon for a couple pieces of snail mail I'm expecting. Stupid legal documents needing original signatures.

  • I wish it wasn't the weekend @-) I know, I know.. I only wish that because I'm just ready for DS to get back to his normal self/schedule after the holiday and sometimes our weekends get a little busy as well. I am happy to spend time with my boys though. Maybe I can talk DH into having a lazy weekend!
  • Our house looks like a bomb went off in here. I hate it but I know we're renting a storage unit tomorrow so there didn't seem to be much point in shoving stuff in a closet just to haul it all out again in a day. The cats seem to be enjoying their new environment though. Lots of things to climb in and on.
  • We are going to lake placid for new years with college friends. ILs are crazy (i've posted about them before) and wanted to come here for 2 weeks. We lied and said we were leaving for lake placid today, so they wouldn't come. (we were just there for a week before xmas anyway.)

Yes you have a point...I'm sure if I lived in a cold part of the world It would make more sense!!
  • I am supposed to be working out since LO just went down for her nap.... instead of bumping on the couch under my cozy new blanket. To top it off I just had THREE huge buttermilk biscuits, one filled with cookie butter. Yes.

My FFFC- my friend was supposed to come visit a month ago, we planned it, and she never showed up. She's in town for her birthday dinner tonight, and I might just no show on that to give her a taste of her own medicine.
That would really piss me off. Planning things with a newborn is hard and that's so rude- I'm guessing she doesn't have kids?! But if your other girlfriends are going- you should go and just forget her present!
It did! We were even texting the morning she was supposed to come deciding on the time, etc. One other friend is going with us, so I will go, but I didn't get her anything, and I am not staying very long since LO will be with me (DH is working and wont be home until after I have to be at the restaurant). To answer your question- nope, no kids. She doesn't know if she wants any....

I asked for a jumperoo for LO for Christmas. I made an amazon wish list (upon MIL's request), looked at a bunch of different ones, and found the one that I wanted for LO.  MIL found an old jumpy seat thing at Love Inc., and gave that to LO for Christmas.  My FFFC is that I don't want that one, and I wish she had just bought the one I asked for.

I'm just laughing over here because MIL told us not to buy LO a jumperoo, she wanted to get him one for Christmas. She sent one of the doorway jumpers instead. I was a little disappointed. So basically this week's fffc is outing me as a brat.

I would have been disappointed, too.  I feel like a brat too because the thing she got will work...it's just old, and not as fun.  And not what I wanted.

I think people who take down their Christmas decorations the day of or the day after the holiday are lame. It's still the holiday season to me until at least Jan 1st.
The only reason we take down the tree at my parents before then is b/c my dad has to be back at work before then and he's in charge of the heavy lifting. ;)
My tree is still up and on, and will be until probably after new years! It took so long to get everything decorated, I want to enjoy it for as long as possible!
I really don't know the whole story, but I've heard something about the Christmas season technically going until January 6, so I never feel bad leaving my decorations up after the new year. :)

The other day, DH and I were making Christmas cookies for my boss and realized the recipe called for milk.... We were out of milk so we used my breast milk.

Hahahahaha I just sprayed diet coke everywhere. That is epic!!!

I may not be in Mexico but Florida is close enough. N was rocking his baby chanclas on Sunday when it was 82 outside!

I'm a sucker for baby shoes. N has tons and he rocks them all.

The sandals I may able to get on board with!!! love them!

  • DD was fussy yesterday and I wanted to quick eat lunch. So I put her in bouncer and she watched piglets big movie for about 15 mins. She loved it.

The 12 days of Christmas as technically AFTER Christmas so the holiday doesn't official end until the 6th. We take everything down on the 7th after we open our 3 Kings Day gifts.

  • I still haven't seen frosty the snowman :\">

  • I have to force myself to put stuff on LOs feet when we go out. I'm the person in flip flops in the snow (what little snow we get in TX) more often the not I just tuck a blanket over her feet.

My LO is just like her daddy and is obsessed with any electronic device. She already has games she plays with on my iPad and will often be caught watching tv when it's on. So much for my no electronics idea.
  • Baking the cookies, ESP at a high temp past boiling for a long period of time (i.e. 350 for 30 mins) would effectively kill any bacteria or viruses. It's essentially pasteurizing the milk. Although at that time and temp all proteins would be denatured and the milk is broken down so much.

I would maybe be wierded out by breastmilk cookies, but the risk of transmission of a disease at that point is very low.
