Just spent five minutes laying on my back trying to get DH to see his little girl kick. It took several times of me saying "do it again" (and her listening? That's crazy I know) for him to finally see it. I'm so excited for him! He hasn't felt her move yet and has been bummed about it! :x
Dear every newborn photographer ever,
Please post your prices on your website and save us both a lot of time.
Amen! Are you booking that already!? Am I way behind the ball on this!?
I never got around to professional newborn photos for DD. ( By the time we got to bring her home and she was more rounded out and newborn sized it was flu season and taking her out just wasn't worth the risk to me. I kind of want to do them for DS, but then I'll feel bad that I only have them for one child and not the other. In my defense, I'm sure DD will have a lot more candid photos because I didn't have any other children to contend with.
March 2017 September Siggy Challenge: Favorite Fall Things
@mamamonzo Shit. I didn't even put the two together. Yes I remember her posting in November about Aiden James. Gosh, how horrible. Thanks for getting my act together for me!
@mamamonzo I remember having that weird little realization/panic session somewhere deep into second tri with DD. I was just like "oh god, in a few months feeding you is going to mean actually feeding you and not just eating for you." The situation seemed really dire at the time. ) The reality of it was a lot more natural than I imagined it would be. (I had NEVER cared for a baby before, even in passing. Ever. I could count the number of babies I'd held on one hand even.)

Sooo....i bitched about having to get dressed and whatnot, but last night I went to DH's company Christmas Party...and HOLY CRAP!! Maybe if my company did anything 1/8th as nice, I would enjoy my job more! This party was AMAZING. They rented out the MLB stadium and held it on the field. It was all glow in the dark, formal...tons of food, alcohol (booo), and entertainment. It totally wasn't my type of entertainment but freakin' Ke$ha and Snoop Dogg both performed! I ate 18lbs of mac & cheese, and 32 dessert shooters and came home exhausted!
My company gave me a $7.50 cafeteria voucher to be used within a week.
Whoa! Where does your DH work? And what did you end up finding for a cocktail dress?

@LoriMc12 He works for GoDaddy! I managed to find a dress at motherhood maternity...I'm not sure it was technically "cocktail", but it was black and I fixed my hair up, so no one could tell
DH and I think we want to try elimination communication with baby. And then at other times I think we're crazy for even wanting to attempt it. I've never actually met someone who's done it so it just seems so bizarre.... yet it just seems to make sense.
DH is showing me his crazy Danish children´s book (published 1845, not really recommended for children now.) Apparently, if you lick your finger, someone will come and cut it off. heheh!! Oh, and if you play with fire, you'll burn up and your cats will cry.

ETA (it wasn't matches, it was fire.)
Wait - is that Struwwelpeter? That's a German book, but maybe it's been translated to Danish too? It just sounds exactly like the illustration of Harriet and the matches. My grandmother had it in German and English both, for double the terror. I use to hide my thumbs in my fists to protect them from the great tall tailor - and I didn't even suck my thumbs!
Published 1845 - by Heinrich Hoffman? I think it's the same! My family disagrees with that not recommended for kids now thing, apparently. :P I'm going to try to keep it from DS until he's old enough to be less terrified than I was...
YES! hahaha, totally. DH was like "this is SO not for children." It is pretty hard core!
At a silent auction a few months ago DH bid on (and won) a limo ride to see Christmas lights. We are going tonight! I'm so excited, lights are my favorite part of the holidays!
Apparently I'm a "hipster" according to DH because I want to CD, baby wear and placenta encapsulation lol I thought that was funny.
Oh and I also found out from another group that if you CD, EBF and baby wear, chances are you are a "sanctimommy".
Lol, I do all of this and no "sanctimommy-ness" here. Its what works for me and my kids and I don't care what others do. DH does refer to me as a 'hippy' sometimes though
This is funny to me, because my true-to-life hipster little sister thinks I'm nuts for wanting to do all of the above. When we told her I was pregnant, she also commented (right before I was going to tell her we were team green, I might add) "You're not going to be those annoying people who don't find out what they're having until birth, are you?" Of course, she doesn't consider herself a hipster. Real hipsters never do.

Between my grandmother's Struwwelpeter and my mother's obsession with Edward Gorey and The Gashlycrumb Tinies, I'm kind of surprised I didn't grow up seriously warped. :P
I love all of the things you just said. And now I really want this book.
Ps DH says I can spell our kid's name out in GCT letters.

Omg so I met one of my step mothers friends today and she asked me how long I'd been married "almost 3 years" oh and you're now now pregnant did you plan it that way or did it take you a while to get pregnant since you're clearly overweight. I went with we planned it that way so I didn't have to tell her that se was being a cunt and I had actuallygptten pregnant the first month I tried but lost that baby at 20 weeks she would have probably blamed that in my weight too.
Michael Bublé rocks my effing world! Soooo jealous of you!
I have an unhealthy love for him... so creepy
Confession time? I was a total Bublé groupie about seven years ago before he got really popular, and have met him a few times. I even flew to Albuquerque during my summer classes because his saxophone player offered me a comp ticket and we all hung out at a local bar the night before the concert. Quite possibly the stupidest/most awesome decision I've ever made.
It's hard now to go to a packed concert and remember that I once touched thighs with him and had him buy me a shot and kissed my cheek when I turned 21. God I was such a fan girl back in the day. Talk about an unhealthy obsession DH just doesn't get it....
I should also mention this was right around when I got my first credit card and I made a LOT of bad Bublé-related decisions. Finally got that paid off a couple years ago lol!
I hate animal cruelty. I give money to animal charities. But I cannot STAND when people post pictures on facebook of animal cruelty to be "against" it. I don't need to see pictures to be against it. I'm not sure anyone actually should need to see pictures to be against it. :-( (Seriously hoping the photo I just saw doesn't give me nightmares.)
I just started thinking about the labor buddy system again, and I'm getting excited that it's just a couple more weeks until we start revisiting all the details and giving our lists to @pineconey! Yay! <:-P

Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )
Me: you realize that in 15 weeks we are responsible for a human and somehow have to manage to actually keep it alive?
DH: shit, that soon huh? I'm sure we'll be ok. We're a good team.
Me: yea but we aren't grown up!!! You have to be a grown up to have a baby! What were we thinking!?!?
DH: that 40 weeks wouldn't fly by so quickly. Buckle up buttercup life's about to get crazy.
Reality is starting to set in!!
