My dh just text me that his niece asked if she could spend the summer with us and he said sure. I'm having baby the end of march, at the end of April we are packing up our house and my husband is going to a class for 6 weeks (he will be 6 hours away) and I'm going to my parents (10 hours away) for the 6 weeks...with a baby and a 2 year old and 2 dogs. Then he will come to FL to vacation with us end of June/early July. We will then drive 10 hours and move into a new house. Am I crazy that I really don't want her to come and stay the rest of the summer as I'm moving into a new house and settling in?! I feel like there's already plenty of craziness!! (She will be between 8th grade and 9th).

OMG! I hate those. They play them on the discovery channel here. Its horrible. I can't watch. Seriously, I don't need to see that to give you money!!! In fact, I noticed I give money to groups that mostly post/advertise success stories. I want to see the outcomes of their work, you know?

LOL Yes.  I thought it was something he made up, and then one of my friends of German descent told me it was real.  Once I found out it was real, I sent it to my office-watching friends for Christmas one year. 

Dwight's child-rearing concepts are always hilarious.  DH jokes about singing, "Learn your rules, you'd better learn your rules, if you don't, you'll be eaten in your sleep!" to LO.

I baked Oatmeal Stout Cakes today - they are like gingerbread but even better. And I licked the bowl- raw eggs, beer and all!

@KendraColeslaw  That was totally me last Sunday!  I made a trip to Target just to buy Elf because I was irritated I didn't see it on tv yet.  It was on sale so that was a bonus.

@Mamamonzo Southeast MI, close to Ann Arbor, but if DH gets the promotion he applied for we'll be moving to Ludington. Really hoping he gets that position, but he hasn't had much luck so far so we aren't holding our breaths.

Elf is ONLY on Starz this month. They have the exclusive right to it this holiday season! I was pissed!

I hate those commercials. I get all flustered and teary trying to find the remote to change the channel (which can never happen soon enough) and then I spend the next 20 min disturbed and moody.

It's gonna be a long night of trips to the bathroom and water cooler...(yep, I am that girl who won't drink tap water so DH bought me a water cooler because I am spoiled)

So apparently my sister complaining about her stomach hurting today and looking up symptoms on Web MD was no time for jokes about Dr. Google. I just received a call that she is currently in the ER awaiting an U/S and is having gallbladder problems! I am now all worried and hoping that it is nothing more serious than gall stones or something! Considering she is on some serious blood thinners for a clotting disorder having to have her gall bladder removed would not be ideal! Wow. Not at all how I thought this weekend would end! Getting up early to go over to her house and get the boys (14 and 17) up and off to school and get her daughter dressed and ready for her preschool pageant that my sister is seriously sad about having to miss :-(
Praying over here that this is just a slightly dramatic bump in the road and nothing more serious!

Does it make it better or worse that I was sitting when I fell? ;-) I was trying to get up, my hip went wonky, and back down I went - right into her present. DH just laughed and laughed. Her present is ok, thank goodness! I'm sorry you've had some eaten by the dogs! Our dog is afraid of the tree and steers clear.

Lucky! I wish mine would steer clear lol Now I have to lock them in a room when we leave and pray they don't eat any of the furniture so I leave things for them to chew.

Yep.  I absolutely love my job and would gladly work there until I retire.  But I would still rather stay home with this baby when it comes.  Not an option right now though, unfortunately.

Ugh I hate sneezing! It always makes one side of ligaments hurt, and usually the side that Peanut is hanging out on.  Today's victim, my right side...

Also, fingers crossed this humidifier DH and I got for our bedroom works.  My nose can't take this crap any longer.

DD begins speech therapy today. The mom guilt is killing me. I know I shouldn't blame myself since it's really not the end of the world, but I still feel bad like it's my fault that she needs it. *sigh*

Lots of kids need it, and it's not anything you did wrong!  In fact, you're a good mom for making sure she gets what she needs.  Lots of kids need things like speech therapy and their parents don't follow through with it.  Let those moms have the mom guilt!

Please don't feel bad I believe my 2 1/2 year old will need it. I've been taking with her doctor who wants to wait till she is three. She is very talkative but will not pronunciate her words. She talks like her tongue is to big. We practice everyday, and she is coming along slowly.

I know I shouldn't feel guilty. I just do because when she was 1- 2 1/2 I was working and going to nursing school full time so I was always gone. We were living with my parents at the time and they baby the crap out of her, so she really didn't need to talk. I finally decided to move in with DH so I can be a SAHM and since then her speech has improved a lot. I just hate feeling like I should've put more effort into it when she was younger. It doesn't help that her cousin is like a year and a half and speaks just as much as she does. I know I shouldn't compare but it still bugs me like I should have done more.
