DH and I just spent 45 minutes prepping crockpot breakfast casseroles for a brunch tomorrow (and one for us too!). I love working in the kitchen with him, but bacon grease popped in my eye. owwwwwwwie.
Also- I babysat tonight and got $35 for just dragging the kid around with us. We went caroling with another family and I let him run around with the other family's kids for an hour. Mom was thrilled that he's getting a wide range of life experiences. DH also got to watch me parent a little as I had to "discipline" the 4 year old (he ate his candy cane in the car and had been asked not to). The discipline was me having him hand over the rest of the candy cane and me asking him questions about honesty, but DH still cowered. This is going to be a longggg road.
And one last also- kid's mom wants me to consider nannying for her instead of going back to work (which I'm not planning to do anyway). It would be just for the summer and start in June... I'm seriously considering this, assuming I don't have any major complications with LO!

April 14 August Siggy Challenge- "This time last year.."
I dig that DH and I are on the same page about our moms, and that when he looked at the group text between his mom and the two of us (so much less awkward when she texts "us" about stuff!) his question was, "was my mom being ridiculous or what?" And not, "why didn't you agree to do that with my mom earlier?" Regarding her kinda pushy suggestion that I FaceTime register with her at a chain of stores that aren't in this state. Totally pulled the have to work and can't text back card...
Late night peeing made me think....the soundtrack to my kid's life right now is my heart, my stomach, and the sound of my bladder emptying. I don't even like the dogs looking at me while I pee.

@BiggerinRealLife Yes, that's my orchestra :-) This week I'm off because they played Mozart and Charpentier. Quite a change from the week before. hehe. (BTW, its took me a year to have the confidence to say the name of the orchestra in Icelandic. LOL)
I officially miss my DH. My son and I a flew down to visit my family during the holidays, we have been here for 2 weeks now and have 2 more weeks until my husband can drive down. He will vacation here with us for a week and then we will all go back together. My bump is going to be huge compared to when we left!
I'm so bummed...all of the Mickey Mouse lines for baby gear have been discontinued! Such a bummer especially because they have really cute Minnie Mouse sets...it's really disappointing and kinda upsetting that they'd have all this girl stuff but not boy
Maybe that means a new Mickey line is coming out soon. You still got some time to get things.
I know it just bums me out...I'm trying to do the registry and pick up a few things off craigslist here and there. I'd hate to get it all set up and then have a new line come out! LOL I found a mickey pack n play on craigslist I kinda wanna jump on...I guess I could always re sell it if a new line came out that I just "had to have" LOL
I get it. I wanted to get a Minnie or Mickey car seat but we only really liked the Graco Minnie Garden print and we were going to get that if the baby had been a girl. I don't like any of the Mickey print car seats that have been out.

I take one tylenol-pm because my legs hurt at night and I'm restless thanks to this new medicine I'm on but it leaves me with a hangover and feeling weird the next morning. However, if I don't take it I spend all night tossing and turning.
Fail. He just came and talked to me about it. He was drunk when he "agreed" to it, but did say that he would need to talk to me about it. That happened almost 2 months ago and he didn't hear anything so he assumed nothing was coming from it. But my inlaws were at dinner tonight with the family friend and mentioned that it was happening and then told DH.
DH isn't happy about it either, so he fully understands why I'm pissed. This kid is coming down to work some grunt job at minimum wage to gain experience. That does NOT sound like a short term thing. Doesn't know anyone, isn't going to be making lots of money, etc etc.
Ugh. He's waiting to hear more news or information. We don't know shit right now which is super frustrating.
Ugh. I'm so hoping for you that this just doesn't happen! We've had 2 of DH's friends wind up living with us for way too long stretches - 2 weeks between leases that turned into 4 months, and a weekend that became almost 6 months. Never again.
I would be a straight up bitch and say no, not with a new baby on the way, if there's anyway I could say no.
Good luck!
Yea, this could EASILY turn into several months and I'm VERY not down with that. I don't know this kid from a hole in the wall, and now I'm supposed to change my life and our routine for him? Not so much. Not to mention the new baby coming. I didn't want my BIL living with us at all, let alone some "random" kid.
He said "can I say you're threatening to divorce me over this so he can't come?" I said "I am MORE than ok with you saying that if it gets us out of this bullshit." Oy.
That sounds like a nightmare. I hope you get it figured out.

Has anyone asked their Drs about Melatonin?
I take one unisom every night at bedtime, it helps with my morning sickness. But a lot of people get that hangover feeling from that too. Melatonin is worth asking about, for sure.
Yeah, I may leave a message on monday about it because I used to take it before I got pregnant and never got a hangover. I wish I could still just walk up to my professor and ask him these questions since he was a practicing Dr for so long instead of calling and waiting. *sigh*
If DH does not hurry up in the bathroom I am going to scream!! I worked for him last night as a favor and he said he'd take me to breakfast this morning as a thank you. I've been waiting for him to get out of there for 25 minutes already!!
DH and I can not have any sort of communication in the morning. He says he's listening but if I try to continue the conversation later he has no clue what I'm talking about. I've become a morning person with this pregnancy. I'm up at 6 every morning. (
I've wondered about Tylenol PM. I can't sleep anymore my sides are going numb all the time. I'm in south pain at night. This sounds like fantastic news!
TMI; now that the baby is moving all the time and I feel him all the time, I think I'm going to have to bench myself. Sex is just too weird now, the O wakes him up and he starts movin around like crazy aaaand I just can't. Sigh. Little pooper of parties.
I'm trying to figure out a cute way to announce our sons name at Christmas, or should I just wait until he is born? I haven't yet because I live far from family and wanted to announce his name in person to my family, but I don't know how. Little history..my dad's name is Lloyd, his father was George, his father Lloyd, his father George..it goes that way for generations. However it ended with my dad because he only had girls. I'm naming my son George and I can't decide when/how to announce his name
Ladies, for you viewing pleasure: Round one of mini cheesecakes. I'm not thrilled with how they turned out in the looks department, but I guess that just means I need to practice more?! On the plus side they do taste amazing (or at least the batter did anyway)!

Woke up this morning and my lips are really plump and dark pink. Is this a weird preg symptom I haven't heard of? I know nipples tend to darken, and lips are a mucous membrane....are the two connected? It's weirding me out....unless DH and I were sleep making out again...

DH says my lips are way fuller. I can't tell but he has choice words about them lol

I think I found a stretch mark. I was not prepared for them this early on. I'm not bothered by it, but I would have liked to have made it to the third tri at least!!!
The day before Thanksgiving I had completely forgotten to buy a turkey, so I went to the store on my way home from work and got one.
Well, the door to my trunk is broken, and I have a car seat on both sides of the back, so I just put the turkey in a car seat.. while I was back there I remembered one of my favorite CDs was somewhere on the floor and I guess while I was rummaging through my crap I threw a baby blanket that happened to drape over the turkey.
WELL..... I ended up getting pulled over because the tabs on my car expire this month (which is so stupid.. but at least the cop was nice and claimed he was just "reminding" me)..
anyway, as he was talking to me he looked back and said, "how old is your baby?".... that's when I looked back and saw the turkey under the blanket. So I just started laughing and said, "oh. that's not a baby, that's a turkey."
And I laughed harder cause the look on the cops face was just like this...
MIL just called to say she adopted a chihuahua. Fourth dog. I love her, but she might be insane. DS already thinks he's pack member and barks when anyone comes in their house.
My MIL has about 16-20 dogs and they are all Chihuahuas, dachshunds and Poms...yeah bit of a dog horder. We don't go over there

So I know this may sound weird but today is the first time I've gotten excited about the new baby. I saw a picture of a little boy in the cutest outfit and told DH that I couldn't wait to be able to dress DS in that stuff. It's weird it has taken me so long for it to hit me and get excited this time around.

Everyone is different. Half the time I still forget I'm pregnant! Glad you're feeling more connected now.
