Are you referring to me? If so, get all huffy? How so? Because I said how I can see why she reacted the way she did? I put NOT in caps because I think calling someone a racist is a huge assumption that can be offensive. So if that's me being huffy, I guess so.. And I didn't say anything about the name being black or whatever, I stated MY OPINION on how GHETTO can be taken as a sensitive term.

I think the Lia Sophia brand and the unique spelling becoming popular has definitely helped my name be more mainstream! I love my name and wouldn't want it any other way. Also, I'm not advocating for everyone being named john and Sally--that would be boring as hell!

I love the name and spelling of Lia -- I'm trying to talk my DH into considering it if we have a girl! I hope that didn't come off as racist

But I was not friends with a girl in elementary school and I think it all started because her name was Sunshine. Not saying that is the ONLY reason, and she was probably a really nice girl if I ever gave her the chance. I just couldn't get past her stupid name. I feel bad because her name WAS Maria, but her aunt got custody of her and legally changed her name to Sunshine right before she moved to our school. Stupid names CAN make a difference.

@demodoll confused about being pulled into what? You mean being mentioned because I said she was wrong for the comments she made about you that upset everyone? That she apologized for but it keep being brought up? I didn't know that was pulling you into anything.. Because honestly there's nothing to be pulled into. This is not my post, and I have no ill feeling towards no one on this board.

I've seen aijah in a few of my Asian circle of friends. It's pretty to hear but confusing to read- probably not for them though.

@nijay714 if you look back at my conversation with mskitty, after she called me a bitch and said my F'ing face hurts her eyes, I wanted to make things civil so I apologized for hurting her feelings. She replied with "yeah we are good, but that make me mad." She never apologized at all for any of it so if people continue to attack her for that I don't see why it's wrong when she never said sorry or that she didn't mean it.

@demodoll I thought she did, so my mistake for thinking she did if she didnt.. I said she was wrong for her comments and in me thinking she apologized and saying she did, that wasn't me justifying her actions either. I thought she apologized so that why I said why keep it going, especially if you know it's not true. I'm not ms kitty's advocate and I have nothing against you nor @andrewsgal. This whole post flipped and turned into something ugly. I just felt a little bad for her because all she asked from the start was which way to spell her LO's name then it turned from a health debate on the best way to spell it into how ugly everyone thought it was..

I know this is very much off topic and nobody probably remembers, this but on these controversial threads (or the ones that shouldn't be controversial but are) I get WAY more offended by people assuming that someone who writes terribly and has a bad attitude is young than the so called "race assumptions". Maybe this is because I'm 22 and pregnant with my first child. All I know is it really grinds my gears when someone is labelled as young because they don't know how to tactfully respond to something or because they misspelled something..... Proceed
