I HATE cyclists.  You don't own the F"N road and you don't have the right to run me down when I have the light to walk across the street.  You have bike lanes for a reason, either use the bike lane or ride on the sidewalk.  The next time you attempt to run me down I'm going to clothes-line your ass.

So you're covering a mile roundtrip with two children faster than an Olympic runner? It's longer than 3 minutes or the school is way closer than a half mile. Either way it's a bad idea.
I wish I could run that fast. I drive.

Oops. I swear I read that you were walking. It's still a bad idea. What if you get into a car accident and can't get home right away?

I know. I've only done it about 3 times and I feel bad the whole time.

  • Other day I was polishing my toes, DS2 kept bugging me he wanted his toes purple too. Guess who else is walking around with purple toes?!?!

ETA: I only did 4.....He would not sit still long enough......

I'm glad you cleared that up.
  • @Igoo0304, no I didn't realize that she had a doctor's appointment.  She hadn't told me that she had another IUI recently, and she would always tell me when she had them in the past.  I thought maybe this time, she just wasn't telling people so they (including me) wouldn't ask about pregnancy test results.

I think she just wanted to send me the picture so she could explain it when I talked to her later that day.

  • I've started to do more things for myself and I feel guilty for it.

I think that's great (that you doing things for yourself, not that you feel guilty about it).  I'm trying to do that too in order to strike a little bit of more balance in my life.

My sons school is less than a mile from my house as well. If my youngest is late going down for a nap, I wake him up. Or I'll wait to put him down until after we get home, if it's already close to pick up time and he isn't asleep yet. Please, please, please, don't leave her home alone again.

  • I screamed at my kid last night. Screamed. I yell but this was the loudest ever. She would not go to sleep and I was so frustrated. I feel really bad about it.
I'm sorry, Mack.  Kids are the worst.  We've all done it.  I know that probably doesn't take away your guilt but know kids can easily push us to limits.  You're doing everything all on your own, man.  I give you mad props, because I can barely handle one, and my husband is home.

  • I heard a story about how most of the CDC people that track foodbourne illness are furloughed, and all I could think was how little I would eat if I was employed as a foodbourne illness tracker at the CDC. I'm such a nut job.

One of the posters on another board I'm on has a DH that works at a water treatment plant. He drinks bottled water. I don't know what he's seen but...that's all I need to know. Bottled water it is!

On the topic of tattoos, this was my first. It's Arabic. I don't speak Arabic, I just thought it looked pretty. The guy I was dating at the time was Egyptian so at least I know it's correct. I also didn't mean for the English translation to be included. I didn't have my glasses on when the guy did the transfer, so I basically just saw a blob. Obviously it was already done when I realized.

ETA ok, helps to include the picture

  • I have a wedding to go to tonight for my cousin. I told DH that he could drink and I would worry about driving, but I know that won't happen so I asked my parents to drive us. I'm 28 years old and my mom and dad are going to be our designated driver. Also I'm trying to last minute get a babysitter for the girls because I want to have fun at this wedding and not chase crabby over tired toddlers.
Last year, my co-worker had a pool party and my dad picked me up and drove me home so I could drink.  Same thing happened in the fall watching football at a bar.  DH isn't too into going out so he was home with kids.  Parents are always parents.  :)

  • I barely ever masturbate anymore because the only time I'm alone is when DS is sleeping and my cat totally cockblocks me then. She'll try to lay on me and purr and if I kick her out of my room and close the door , she just sits outside and meows. It's really hard to pretend like Harry Styles is doing naughty things to me with a fucking cat meowing outside my door.

This is me, except change cat to dog and meowing to whining.

  • I have a tattoo I want to change bad.  I don't regret it, but I feel I need to alter it.  It has wording that doesn't mean anything to me anymore, and it seems hypocritical for me to have it on my body now.

  • But they still have to follow traffic laws.
I've found this to be the main issue with cyclists.

But not birth control, of course.

DH and I married young but I think I'll feel like the biggest POS if it doesn't work out because he gave up so much to be with me. His family barely has any contact with him and I know if we divorced they would want him back in their little conservative Christian bubble they live in and try to find him a Godly wife and he won't do that. I know he would be fine and sometimes divorce is the best option but he pretty much cut ties with everything about his life before me. I'm getting to hang out with my brothers today and just about anytime I want but if he wants to talk to his, he needs to sneak around so his parents don't find out (since 3 of them still are underage living at home). Even though they really gave him no option but to stop speaking to them, I still feel tremendously guilty because they are his parents.

When I was 23, I had gone to spend the weekend with a friend who lived about 90 miles from my parents. We are out drinking all afternoon into the night. She gets drunk and thinks I'm hitting on her boyfriend. He was the only person I knew besides her in the whole group. Besides the fact that he was only 19, he was totally not my type. She throws a huge fit and tells me I'm not welcome at her house anymore. My parents make the drive at 2:00 in the morning, just so I don't have to drive drunk. Let's just say I never spoke to her again.

WTAF? That's a whole different brand of crazy. It would have taken a lot for me not to sucker punch her before never speaking to her again.

  • I'm calling shenanigans on getting in a car, driving half a mile, waiting in a carpool line and driving back another half a mile in 3 minutes.
We live catty corner from our elementary school, and I wouldn't even consider going that far while my child is sleeping home alone.

  • I have become the person I swore I never would. I have no life outside of my children and husband. No interests, no hobbies. Nothing. I used to be fun and informed, I used to train horses and read books and hang out with friends. And then I had twins. My entire pregnancy was spent trying to keep them cooking, and now everything that I do has become about or for them. I hate who I have become. I mentioned this to a friend the other day, and all she said is "I've been wondering when you would figure that out." I don't even know how to find new interests or things to do, because, babies.

Dude....I've learned so far that kids are a bigggg timesuck, lol.

Maybe you can start small, like just taking a few minutes each night to read a magazine or book? Then start leaving the kids with YH maybe once or twice a month to go do something for you. Like going for coffee or gwtting pedicure.

endo doesn't show up on ultrasounds unfortunately

I hope I am cuttng the quote tree correctly.  When I talked to her, she explained that the u/s showed scar tissue and that may be a sign of endometriosis.

In my hometown their are foxhunts, almost every time an actual quarry animal is used, usually a red fox.  For over 20 years I have been sabotaging these hunts, I love animals.  The house I grew up in is still in my family and it is on the border of the woods where the hunt takes place.

I go out very very early, about 4AM in full cammies and armed with a wineskin bottle full of coyote piss.  When the hunt starts you can hear the hounds going apeshit so that is when I start my run. I start squirting coyote piss every few hundred yards.

It is a full on adrenaline filled run, I am usually laughing alot because its pretty insane to have that many dogs trailing you.  The piss lead the hounds away.  In 20 years they have killed 1 fox, I have never been caught or seen.
How old were you when you started?

  • @jack19 that is AWESOME. They have a fox hunt in a town near me (Middleburg VA). I went to highschool there and ever year when I would see them on my way to school I felt SO bad for the fox.

I want to know how you get coyote piss though.

I think when you're old you should write to the local news and tell them.
