Until I read this thread, I didn't realize how hot of a topic using a walker is. My son uses it a couple times a week in our family room while I watch him on the couch. Not that I have to defend my parenting skills to anyone.

We have a walker too. We haven't used ours, but Charlie goes in one at Nana's and he loves it. The important part, to me, is not whether or not to use the walker. It's to not allow the child and the walker to repeatedly fall down the stairs, or defend a scenario where doing so would be a-okay.

All I can say is that I'm so glad our house has zero stairs.

D@mn, late to the party, again. I hate that I am in different time zone. Strollers - I cringe when I see that Graco crap. And when people always have the car seat snapped in, it can't be good for your kids neck or head to have them in it that long. Since we didn't need to do fertility tx, the first thing I said to dh when I got two pink lines was "I want a really nice stroller". I needed up getting a used Bugaboo Cameleon, and I am s glad I did. We only have one car right now, and we live in Europe, so I walk alot with it. I love my stroller. My UO: I don't get BF Moms that wean early (by choice, not due to supply issues). I have a friend that weaned her dd at six months because she "wanted her body back". Huh? Having kids is a sacrifice. I feel lucky I have been able to successfully BF this far, I can't imagine giving up now. I think it's selfish.

I don't think it's fair to judge mothers based on this decision. Breastfeeding is one of the HARDEST things I have ever done. I was in severe, severe, constant pain for the first 3 months due to Raynaud's. Pumping at work royally sucks and messes with supply. Some women doubt themselves and their milk if their baby isn't gaining weight or is having tummy issues. While it's a bonding experience for some, I can understand why a woman would want her body back to herself after 6 months.  There are a million reasons why a woman may want or need to give up breastfeeding. There may be things going on with your friend that you don't know about... making it 6 months is amazing.

It is my pet peeve when women judge other women about anything regarding breastfeeding. It is already an emotional and difficult thing for almost every mother, and criticizing just makes it worse.
