EDD is Christmas Eve. My first appointment won’t be for another week or two.
DH and I are both 33 and have 2 little girls who are 3&5. We have not told them yet, but are thinking of doing so soon. Once they know, everyone will know! Ha.
We live on a farm full of cows along with a few crops. I am a photographer, but have gone to part time with that and also work at our local co-op. We are entering into our busiest season!
@PYLWhammy thanks! I initially thought we'd have more of a 4-5 year gap, so 7 seems like a lot, but I know DS will be an awesome and helpful big bro. I'm nervous about starting over, now that I've gotten a taste of more independence. It will definitely be a pro financially. I can't imagine having 2 in full time daycare!
This was our make it or break it year for adding to our family, and I'm so excited.
@savedbygrace1213 welcome! My daughter is almost 5 .. I know once we tell her about the baby, she's going to be asking about it constantly ("is the baby coming now? What about now?") so we're waiting as long as we can to tell her
Hi! This is my 5th pregnancy I have 3 children girl 7 girl 5 boy 2. I had a mc in July. So this is a pgal. Makes me even more nervous but so far bloodwork and us looks good! I went to dr for an ultrasound bc I was getting sharp pains. I thought I had a cyst. Well I do but they also told me I was pregnant! Shocking to me bc we weren’t trying! Hopefully Everythjng will go smoothly and this will be my rainbow baby : )
We were NTNP, and after missing my period in February and March, I finally got my BFP. Going by my LMP I was thought to be due in October, but after a dating scan I wasn’t nearly as far along as I thought.
Tell us about yourself I am a mom of 2, DH and I got pregnant with our son (Cohen, 5) after only 9 months of dating. We made it work and have been happily married for almost 3 years. We have a daughter, Sutton, who is 20 months, and her birth month group became my best friends! We live in Pittsburgh, and I am a Digital Marketing Coordinator.
How are you feeling? So nauseous but haven’t thrown up yet. I can only eat something very specific, whatever happens to come to mind that day, and then I’ll be disgusted by it until further notice.
I found out I was preggo from missed period & confirmation from the doc
I have a husband & 2 sons (ages 3 & 8) Shout out to my boy moms! I am okay if this baby is another boy. My husband wants a girl really bad & I’m like...🙄 I can do without! Lol! We have nieces for that! But seriously, I just want a healthy, happy baby!
I’m really tired allllll of the time! I can tell that my hormones are changing too because I can get a little snappy at my boys and husband. I feel bad about it too😕 I feel nauseous sometimes with certain smells and tastes but I only vomited once (this is good for me because my last pregnancy was hell!)
I’ve used The Bump for my other 2 pregnancies. Things have changed on this app since 4 years ago but I’m happy to be back🤗
@PYLWhammy good idea. We told all of our kids and our 6 y/o asks daily “does the baby have ears yet?” “Is it December yet?” “How many more days?” On the flip side though, she kisses my belly “good night” and tells my youngest not to naughty because “mom, doesn’t need the added stress right now!”
How did you find out? I was craving cherry coke! FYI I have not had soda in about 10 years. Just don’t like it, I prefer seltzer!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? We have two amazing girls 8year old & 3 year old! We have all been home the past year together! Balancing remote school, working remote and keeping everyone healthy! Things you like to do? I love nature, hiking, anything outdoors where I can hear birds chirping. Spouse/partner?) my husband and I have been together for over 15 year!
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I always get worried about my pregnancies. My first appointment is next week at 8wks. I think I have every symptom, food aversion, nausea, extra saliva.... the works 😃
How did you find out? We have been TTC so when I was feeling extra hungry; and I’m not a typical first morning eater, I took a test.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I am 36, live in south Fl. We have one kitten and no other kids. Love to hike and are trying to visit as many national parks as possible! I enjoy trying to cook new things and am also an avid reader.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I have been extremely low energy and extra hungry since I first found out! Nausea throughout the day, which I find goes away if I eat. No ultrasound yet;my appointment is next week, but being this hungry I’ve been I’m wondering if there is more than one little bean?! First pregnancy so things are a bit scary.
How did you find out?We found out the morning of my first missed period and I promptly screamed my husband's name, sending him running to the bathroom. He was was so excited we had a dance party right then and there! Before that point, I had been really tired and my breasts were incredibly tender.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) We have one dog, but otherwise, just me and my husband. We've been married for just over a year and together since 2015. I love to read books, watch NCIS and criminal mind reruns, and spend time out in the sunshine!
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) We had our first appointment last month at 7 weeks. Everything looked great. My next appointment is next week and while I'm a little nervous, I'm more excited than anything. So far my most prominent symptom is fatigue. It's impossible to stay awake all day. Minimal nausea, some breast tenderness, but mostly I'm just so sleepy!
I'm thankful to be apart of this group and can't wait to get to know everyone!
My due date is 12/28/21. Will be little sibling to a 4 year old girl and 2 year old boy.
I am 31 and work full time and my free time is spent with my little love bugs
i have been so sick. Have a nurse coming to give iv fluids at home and if that doesn’t work in 4 days I have to stay at hospital for 3 days to get sickness and fluid intake under control.
Looking forward to taking this journey with all you lovely ladies!
First I must say, I have definitely been creepin' around here the last couple days and reading some of these posts on the Bump were so helpful at putting my mind at ease. Being my first pregnancy, I question everything with my body.
Due Date: December 29th
How did you find out? I went jogging with my husband and noticed feelings in my upper body that I didn't classify as normal... this was a week after my period. Yes, I had somehow convinced myself of a reason for any possible symptom.. "Man, this changing of seasons is making my acne get really bad!" "I read that the Pfizer shot can throw off your menstrual cycle...must be reason I am late." "This cloudy weather and lack of vitamin D is making me so exhausted... I never needed to have naps during the day... looking forward to sunshine!"
Though I was a terrible detective a few weeks ago, I feel like I could pick out someone who is pregnant now...
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) This will be our first child. I am 30+2 (okay is an addition question representing my age) and my husband and I have been together for more than 10 years so though this was our "next step" in life, it still somewhat caught us off guard, though we are looking forward to it.
I enjoy golfing (actually almost any sport but at the moment just been golfing) and walking. I also enjoy reading too, but to be honest, I am one of those people who can only read for short periods of time and then need a break... for a month...
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I had my first appointment at 7 weeks and am now 9+4. Seeing the heartbeat definitely made it real. I am now just waiting "patiently" for my next appointment in 1 week 4 days (not that I am counting...).
As for symptoms, I am starting to feel better which is always a good and bad thing; because too many symptoms - question if that is normal - not many symptoms - question if that is normal. I never had sickness *knock on wood* but a bit of nausea after eating and just been so exhausted.
I am happy to be here. I feel like obviously others in my life have gone through this journey before, but it is nice to be able to talk to people going through the different stages of pregnancy at the same time.
Cheers,
@hetracey hope you are feeling better and didn't need to go to hospital!
Hello! I’ve been enjoying your stories and finally got the courage to introduce myself. Glad to be joining this supportive community 😊
My due date is 12/10 ish. This will be our first!
I’m 34 and DH is 38, so we started trying right after our wedding 3 months ago. My OB recommended the Clearblue Ovulation Predictor kit and, boy, did it work!
DH and I work in tech and live in San Francisco. I am a user experience designer and enjoy crafting, making art, cooking, and practicing yoga.
I had a miscarriage with my ex, so I have been anxious about this new pregnancy. This group has made me realize how many of us have experienced a loss and still are brave enough to try again. Thank you for inspiring me with your resilience 💕
After seeing the movement in ultrasounds and normal test results, including the gender (it’s a boy!), I am feeling optimistic. There’s nothing more I can do at this point other than take care of myself and trust my body and baby to do their magic.
Earlier in the pregnancy, I was super tiered, gassy, hungry, and had occasional nausea and food/scent aversions. Overall I’m feeling more energetic now that I’m in the second trimester. I’m also cramping as my belly is stretching.
@j-to-the-amie - same when I became pregnant. My partner knew before I did lol. We had also been planning to have kids some time but never really figured the details out, so I was both excited and caught off-guard when I ended up pregnant.
@knottie59790a493f54f0ea first of all, you may want to change your nickname - was difficult to "tag" you. Second, glad you have joined! I definitely creeped at first too not sure if a forum was going to be "my thing" or not as I usually keep stuff to myself at times.. but then I realized it was nice reading other people were also very worried about things and could relate to symptoms that I realized is probably a great thing when going through something that others (except people currently pregnant) can fully understand. I can imagine after a loss it was also more scary to "jump in". Anyways welcome!
@bkjade haha sounds exactly like us... we were "planning" for next year... and I was going to be mom-of-the-year with prenatals and not drinkin while trying to conceive... oops...maybe second child?? I think we needed this to be honest... cause we would have always found a reason why we should wait...and I am not getting any younger
Thank you, @j-to-the-amie! Just updated my username. Thanks for the tip. I also question if the amount of the symptoms I’m feeling is normal, especially as a first timer. Totally agree with you that it’s great to be part of a community with others going through the same thing!
How'd you find out? We'd been trying since August 2020; I have a super irregular period so I was avoiding testing until I was really late. I was super nauseous and fatigued but was still delaying taking a test since I was afraid to see a negative result. Finally took a test after period was 2 weeks late and voila!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) 1st pregnancy but we have two fantastic cats already. I'm a librarian and my husband is a financial advisor. We are very low key and major introverts. We prefer spending our free time at home, reading, gaming, and snuggling the aforementioned cats. We also love hiking and camping.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Now that the 2nd trimester has hit I'm feeling a bit better, but still adjusting to all the physical changes. First midwife visit a couple weeks ago and it was amazing to hear the heartbeat. I can't wait for my next appointment because that first one gave me such positivity about this scary endeavour.
Weird symptom I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing- no nausea, but randomly gagging the last couple weeks... no clue what is triggering it.
@littleschmidts our interests are very similar to ours. In a lot of ways I was grateful for the pandemic because I didn't need to makeup excuses to not see people. I did have nausea first trimester, but also gag randomly and sometimes it turns into puking, like this morning. I think the gagging is 2 fold: increased mucus production and increased gag reflex sensitivity.
@littleschmidts Welcome that is very exciting news especially after trying for so long. Awww I love when cats are snuggly. I think some people have had bad experience with cats before and assume they all "keep to their self" or "bossy" or "grumpy" but they really arent - they can have such personalities. Are you a librarian in a school or in a city library? I can't (luckily) relate to the random gagging though I definitely have read it often on different forum chats on here. I am starting to get dizzy sometimes when I first stand up...hope that is normal..
@j-to-the-amie ugh the dizziness, I have had it with all four of my pregnancies. I'd ask your doc to make sure, but I have *really* low blood pressure that causes me in normal times to black-out/get dizzy/nearly pass out when I stand up and it gets worse during pregnancy for me. My doc recommended drinking LOTS of water, drinking tomato juice for the high sodium content, and being careful when I stand up. I cannot do the tomato juice but drinking a ton of water helps me a lot!
How did you find out? Pregnancy test while on vacation in Myrtle Beach
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) Married 5 years, together 14. He has a 17 y/o son who we have half the time but this will be our first together. We have a cat and chocolate lab. I am working from home, most likely permanently now.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Feeling okay today. Most days pretty nauseous but possibly starting to get some energy back? Fingers crossed. First appt went well. We went in at 8 weeks and heard the heartbeat. Mostly pretty nervous about the whole thing but I know we'll be okay. No family here unfortunately. We moved to Michigan 10 years ago when stepson's mom moved him here. My family is in FL & WI. Husband's family is in NY. Hoping to move back to FL (or WI) in the next year or so to be close to family. It's very hard doing this without family even though my husband is great. This is my first time ever posting on any type of forum. Congrats to the rest of you ladies!
@welawn welcome and congrats! Whereabouts in Michigan are you? I grew up in the Detroit area. We also have no family where we are now (MD) so I can relate to that.
@j-to-the-amie public library in a 14 branch semi-urban/ rural district. So I work out of a larger urban centre but most of our locations are in rural areas. Cats are so unique - one of ours is just constantly running around crazy and destroying the house and the other mostly sleeps and demands snuggles.
I miss not having a cat... such lovely pets. They definitely have such personalities and though some "biotchy" ones exist... the ones I had growing up (especially "mine") was sooo cuddly and so caring. As a teenager if I came home upset...he would come up to me and rub his head on mine.. when I went to bed.. I would say "ok bed time" and as I walked downstairs to my room, I would hear the little sound of paws following shortly after. He lived til he was close to 20...so I was so lucky.. got him in Grade 3 and is nice cause my husband also knew him... and I feel like it is with a person or pet...that it is so nice if your partner got to meet them so you can talk about them in a different way than you can if they never met.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job?) I'm a pharmacist. My husband and I have a 17 mo. daughter and a 4 yo dog.
Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) Before the pandemic and dd, travelling! I like to read, watch movies, stay fit, and watch sports. I'm very excited about the Olympics!
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I'm glad to be entering the 2nd tri. The 1st tri was EXHAUSTING! Still battle the fatigue but each day gets a little better. I'm much larger/showing this time around. Oh yeah, I'm currently 44 yo but I'm young in appearance and at heart.😊 I'm trying to wrap my mind around the adjustment needed from 1 to 2 kids. My daughter turns 2 Jan 2022. Glad to be here in the community!
How did you find out? Tested on the same day as our oldest DS got his driver's license!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
Married with 3 kids- DS (16), DS (14), DD (7) We have a dog, cats and chickens I am a nurse as well! Glad to see some others on here too. Been married to my best friend for 18 years
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Hello insomnia! Anxiously awaiting our 20 week US. I turn 40 a few months before the baby is due so trying not to stress about AMA.
Is it cool if I just jump in here? TB has been hateful since Feb and I just haven't had the energy to fight it. I'm a recurring member, was in A15, O19 and did a 19m stint in TTGP before O19. (Made appearances on 4 other BMBs but those didn't work out). But in all seriousness, if I'm barging in late and it's weird, I'll bow out peacefully.

Due date? Dec 4
How did you find out? Well when your seeing an RE Took a test on 10dpo to brace myself for the impeding BFN that I'd get on 14dpo to stop progesterone. Boy was I surprised. None of my other pregncies happened so quickly (this was 3rd cycle)
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) Full time working mama here. I love my job, office manager at our local dealership. DH and I have been together for 18yrs, married for 7. We have 2 kids, our son is my A15 and daughter my O19
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I feel great, second tri and all. 1st tri was exhausting but not bad by any means.
Re: Introductions
This was our make it or break it year for adding to our family, and I'm so excited.
