How did you find out? We had decided to wait to try until after we were fully vaccinated, which happened in March. I have no idea why, but I decided to take a test a few days before my period was due. I was shocked to find the positive!
Tell us about yourself: DH and I have a 3 year old daughter and a 7 year old “puppy” who’s main goal in life was stealing pacifier when DD was a newborn! With Covid - I’ve definitely slowed down a lot ... I enjoy reading, spending time outside in our neighborhood, and riding the bike that goes nowhere!
How are you feeling? The fatigue is REAL! My first appointment won’t be until 8 weeks, so I’ve still got a little time!
Looking forward to going through the next 40 weeks with you ladies!
How did you find out? I went through an IVF transfer of a frozen embryo and just had my labs to confirm I’m pregnant!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
My husband and I have two boys, ages 5 and 3, one mini dachshund (our first daughter!) I work in technology as a manager to a team of student workers at a university in Philly.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
Emotionally I’m not sure. I suffer from anxiety and I’m just trying to get by each day. It’s surreal and I’ve had two failed transfers three years ago when trying for a girl. I’ve had cramping but I’ll get my first US appt to see the baby on May 6th!
Married 12/28/13 I'm 34 DH: 45 DS 1/29/16 IVF 2 Failed Female Embryo transfers in 2017 DS 3/28/18 BFP and DD FET Due 12/22/21!
Hi All! First time mom excited to be joining this group!
Due date? December 1! 8 weeks +2 today.
How did you find out? We were trying, so a nice, bright pregnancy test at 13 dpo. How did *I* know before I knew? My boobs didn't grow before AF was due, which they always do lol!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) This is my first kiddo (Still in shock that it's happening)! No pets, we had a fish, but he passed and we haven't replaced yet. I'm an attorney (already struggling to make billable hours work with fatigue, lol). DH and I have been married for almost 6 years, high school sweethearts. We both had a lot of goals we wanted to accomplish before having kids so we'd be ready to focus on the kiddo. DH is 2 classes away from his Masters Degree and we are both settled in our careers. We also just bought a house! So no time like the present to add a little more chaos in the form of a small human.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) First appointment w/ ultrasound was yesterday. I feel so comforted after seeing that he's in the right spot and that his little heart was beating hard! Symptoms: SUPER tired, low appetite, very sore boobs. Not too bad, I'd say! Emotionally: Relieved after the ultrasound. A little sad/nervous, though. My brother has some physical disabilities, so they want me to get the high risk anatomy scan at 20 weeks. My brother's issues were very fluke things, so I'm not "concerned" but being put in high risk anything never feels good.
I'm very grateful for a good support system of family and friends, but I don't have anyone close to me that is currently pregnant, so I'm also grateful for this community board!
Hello! I finally feel cautiously optimistic enough to introduce myself. *TW ahead* loss and children mentioned
Due date? 12/18 ish
How did you find out? POS 10-12dpo because I was doing a workout program that's not recommended while pregnant. I have PCOS and took femara this cycle. We had a loss (number three) in January and so I've been very anxious. Third beta came back great though so I'm hopeful.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I've been married to DH for almost 13 years. I'm an RN although I've stayed at home the last almost three years. I have two boys who are two and six. There is never a dull moment around here. We also have a couple cats. I love reading and all things Disney and Universal.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I'm hanging in there. Trying to stay busy so I'm not as anxious. I had a loss before each of my sons and another in January. We're praying this is our rainbow baby. I'm maybe a little extra tired, but it's hard to tell much difference because I'm still up multiple times a night with our two year old. Maybe a little nauseous and crampy. I saw my third hcg on lab corp this am (apparently they don't have to wait for the doctor to see it anymore before they post), so I'm waiting for my nurse to call me back to schedule a 6 week ultrasound next week.
I was an active member on both my sons' BMB, and I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all!

@ladymetcalf hi lawyer friend! Oof billables sound rough in first tri. I’m in house now and the best part continues to be not tracking my time in 6 minute increments.
@blueowl08 Hi!!! It's been interesting to say the least, especially because I haven't shared the good news at work yet. Thankfully I work at an amazing firm where they are super pro-family and also super flexible. Congrats on in house, that's great! I like the billable world, it's like a fun game/challenge you get to play with yourself everyday. I just need to get my little nugget to learn the rules ASAP so mommy has some energy to play lol!
How did you find out? I had a big bleed 5 days after my last period ended that was very random (included a large clot). Kept spotting for over a week and finally went to see my GP. He sent me for bloodwork that confirmed my BFP (am sad I didn't get to pee on a stick this time). Two more blood tests confirmed the numbers going up even though I still had a bit more bleeding since the first time and am continuously spotting. Am super nervous. I have had two CPs (Nov. 2018, July 2019) and a MMC (May 2020 at 11 weeks.) I also had a pre-term baby at 25 weeks that fourtunatly lived. My DD is now 3.5 years old.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have my DD (mentioned above), husband of almost 5 years and an almost 6 year old dog( she is a corgi/terrier and is the best!). I'm a SAHM who loves to sew! Alot of my time is spent caring for my DD who has a few special needs such as needing to be fed by feeding tube (she eats nothing by mouth). Really enjoy baking , exercising, going for walks. I am also an older mom(I turn 40 May 1.).
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Very anxious. Was going to just "lurk* on here for a while but decided I really wanted to be part of everyones joys and see if I could be a support for anyone out there going through something similar. For symptoms I have been feeling tired and have had sore/very sesitive nipples. My sinuses have been crazy also. I normally have sinus issues but being pregnant makes then 100× worse. Was very crampy and had some lower back discomfort. Feeling not too bad today!
How did you find out?: We started trying in September 2020. Last Monday (the day before my period was due) I was feeling a little nauseous and decided to take a test just to see. I really didn’t expect to see a line but there it was! Total squinter, but it’s since gotten much darker.
Tell us about yourself: I’m 31 and live in Boston with my husband and 5 year old cat. My husband and I met in college and got married in 2016. I work an an environmental nonprofit organization. I’m currently enrolled in a part-time graduate school program (yikes...would love to talk to anyone else who is going to try and juggle school and baby!). I spend most of my free time volunteering, reading, or cooking vegan food!
How are you feeling: I’m feeling good! My breasts have been super sore, I have some light cramping, and I alternate between ravenous hunger and light nausea, but it’s all manageable. Mostly excited but also super nervous about something going wrong...my doctor’s office has my first in-person appointment scheduled for June which seems very far away.
How did you find out? We have been trying for over a year and a half, I never took tests bc it was too disappointing and my cycles were so regular. I had been feeling bloated for 3 days and had a really sore chest about 4 days before my expected period so I just took the test so I would stop being silly and wondering.... it was incredibly shocking!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) We are both 29, we have two cats, we have been together for 10 years and married for 2.5.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) mostly just anxious! My 8 week ultrasound is next week. I was disappointed I couldn’t go sooner bc my beta was quite high.. 27,000 on week 5! I’m tired, fairly disinterested in anything that isn’t relaxing, I have no appetite and have been getting a few headaches here and there. But trying to enjoy this and just be positive!! It’s been a long wait.
@rinabeana I finished my doctorate when my daughter was about a year and a half. I had already finished all the program requirements before she was born, except the dissertation. So my situation might be a bit different from yours. I was also working full-time. If I can answer any questions or anything, I'd be happy to help
How did you find out? We had been trying for 2 cycles and I had an experience at work where the palms of my hands turned red and my LPN coworker said to google what would make my hands turn red. The very 1st thing I clicked on said "hormone changes such as pregnancy". I went home and took a test and sure enough it was positive.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I am 33 and DH is 35. We have a 9 year old DD and adopted 16 year old DS. I am a MA for an hematology/oncology clinic.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I am exhausted and having bouts of nausea. My first appointment is today. Emotionally I have my moments of mood swings.
@rinabeana My graduate program and med school were more than enough on their own to make me crazy so kudos to you! My only tip would be to do what my grandmother always said -- just keep moving, one foot in front of the other, and you'll survive it, one day at a time. My grandmother actually went to law school while her oldest kids were babies! She always told me that you'd be amazed at what you can do when it's actually on your plate. @nicolegriggs1512 I've been having horrible mood swings -- yesterday was the worst, I just felt really tense and angry at everything; mostly just wanted to be left alone which can't really happen with a toddler underfoot. I also felt super bloated all day so it was all likely hormones.

How did you find out? Oh lawsy. Well, I’m a well-controlled diabetic who has not had a problem with my fasting sugars in a long time. All of the sudden, my fasting sugars were out of control, and it didn’t matter how many carbohydrates I was eating. It dawned on me that my period was about 6 days late... took a test, was completely shocked, and here we are.🤣
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I’m a 36-year-old SAHM of an 8-year-old and b/g 3-year-old twins. My husband is a work from home IT specialist for our local hospital.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)I’m a bit terrified, honestly. A fourth child I didn’t exactly plan for with three-year-old terrors and an 8-year-old who was recently diagnosed with ADHD is a scary thought, but I also have a wonderfully supportive husband who is super excited, so there’s not much we can’t handle.💜

@fmajor7kitsch Are you type 1 or 2? I’m type 1 & happy to see another diabetic! I don’t know many diabetics who have went through pregnancy so I’m always happy to find someone to share experiences with!
Hi everyone! Due date is 12/6/21 😊 we do have a bio 8 year old, but have been ttc#2 since 2015. Unfortunately we had 2 previous miscarriages and a failed round of ivf. We planned to try another transfer with our frozen embryos later this year. Well to our surprise we found out over the weekend. I had my first appointment today where they did an ultrasound. Baby looks good at 7weeks2days with a heart beat at 149 😊

Hi All. STM (DD is 18 months) due Dec 28. Found out via pee stick test during a physical. Im an occupational therapist at a SNF and we decided to wait until I was fully vaccinated before trying for our second. Took a bit longer this time but that's ok. We're excited. Morning sickness is real with this one. With my first I didn't really feel too bad, just tired and didn't want to eat anything. Now I'm nauseous, vomiting and I want to eat everything in sight. Guess every pregnancy really is different. Looking forward to a safe place to vent and get advice with y'all!
@kats0727 welcome. Fellow OT here (though not really practicing for 2.5 years). My pregnancy with my daughter was the same as your first: no nausea just tired. So far this time, lots of nausea
@scaredunprepared it's the worst. We're still in n95s with our isolation patients and making it through the session is so hard. But it's better to be safe. It's gonna be a tough work/pregnancy experience this time
@mbradfo2 Thank you (and thanks to your grandma for the wisdom!). That’s what I’ve been hoping. I’m planning on taking a semester off post-birth and then just one class at a time. It will be a slow slog but I’m hoping that will make it manageable.
@patriciahomol been trying since 2015, wow! I had some failed FET but got a rainbow baby by surprise after those two. This time around is another FET but my final pregnancy and it's sticking so far!

Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I have three children (21, 19, and 4) and two huskies (6 and 1). I am a sommelier but have been unemployed the past year due to COVID so decided to use the down time to go back to get my masters in fungal biology, which is a welcome change of pace. I work part time at the university and spend a lot of my free time volunteering at the community garden. I am a registered yoga teacher but really enjoy the practice more than the teaching. In my spare time I play the cello, run, read, bake/cook, knit, drink wine, and hang out with other mycological nerds. My partner owns a nightclub here in Brooklyn and is a writer. He's the best When he's not stuck working we like to go camping, go to concerts (someday soon again I hope!), and stare at art together.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) PGAL so I am feeling cautiously optimistic to be here and have my first appointment on May 5th. Sore boobs and tiredness but nothing else yet.
I fell asleep sitting up at 6:30pm and had no memory of passing out when my DS woke me up.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?)
I have a 6 year old, a golden doodle, and an extra fat cat. My SO works from home and I am currently so jealous of all the naps he can sneak in. I currently do nothing besides graduate school, napping, and working.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
This my 5th pregnancy, and hopefully 2nd live birth. My previous 3 MC were chemical so hopefully we have a sticky baby. It’s been exhausting worrying all of the time but the second trimester is coming soon and hopefully I can relax some. Also the nausea is awful this time around but also reassuring in a way.
Due date? Based on LMP, Jan 7 (but I've been having short cycles, and my 1st born was 6 weeks early, so I have a strong feeling we'll have a Dec baby. Plus the Jan 2022 board isn't really up and running yet.
How did you find out? I had a funny feeling and decided to test 3 days before my expected period using a WONDFO and surprisingly, it was a faint positive. I later took a digital and it was also positive.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I'm celebrating my 10th anniversary this June with my DH, Jake. We have 1 son, Ethan, who just turned 6 in March. I'm a little nervous for such a large age gap, but I'm they'll still be close. I teach 4th grade. This year I've been teaching exclusively online for those that requested it. It's a ton of work and I'm so ready to go back to the regular classroom! I like to binge watch shows and bake.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I'm feeling okay. A little queasy, but I don't know if that's nerves, in my head now that I know I'm pregnant, or actual symptoms. I called today and my first appointment isn't until June 8, which feels like a lifetime away. I don't know if my sanity can wait that long for medical confirmation that everything is ok. Having had a spontaneous pre-term birth and being "advanced maternal age" (gosh I hate that term), I'm a little more anxious. But overall very excited!! And also scared because we have gotten very comfortable with our very easy and independent son, lol.
How did you find out? I had my nexplanon taken out in February, but didn't have a period until March. I wasn't sure if my periods would be normal or not, so I tested last night after I was a week late. I had had some cramping over the weekend, so I kept waiting for my period to start but it never did.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I'm 34, will be 35 when I deliver, and DH is 33. We've been married 7 years and have a 2.5 year old daughter (A18) and two dogs. I'm an editor for a small government agency. I've been working from home the last year, but I'm starting to go back into the office a little, which is not exciting. I love to read (my goal is to read 100 books this year, but I'm not sure I'll make it), bake, and I'm obsessed with my Peloton. Also, I just got a cricut explore and I've been having fun making shirts.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?)
I'm feeling pretty good so far, a little tired. I'm excited to be pregnant, although we have a trip planned in May and I was kind of hoping not to be lol. I also didn't really want to have a Christmas baby, but oh well. I haven't told DH yet. He'll be gone for the weekend starting Friday morning, so I think I'm going to make DD a Big Sister shirt to wear when he gets home and I'm excited to see his reaction.
@magdalina.h welcome! My daughter will be about 5.5 when this one is born - I think any sibling spacing has its pros and cons. My brother and I are very close in age, while my DH and his sisters have a huge gap. We decided to go for somewhere in between . I think it will be good!
@melbel0824 welcome! 100 books a year is impressive! My goal for the year is 36 but not even sure I'll make that
@2b1gmom@melbel0824 - feel that! back when I thought I could choose what month I could have a baby (lol how naive! I want to smack old me 😹) I was like why would anyone have a baby during December? I’m 💯 percent thankful and here for it now tho!
Hello everyone! So happy to be here even though it’s a shock.
My due date is Dec 30
I found out two days ago when I realized I was 4 days late.
I live in Montana and I have 3 children (8,6, and almost 4). We were very much done having children so this is a surprise. My last pregnancy was extremely difficult so I’m trying not to stress out about the possibilities. I’m an outdoor mama and love hiking, rafting, kayaking, and gardening. I also love crafting and sewing.
I’m feeling ok so far other than tiredness and a weird headache that I can’t shake. Usually nausea hits me in week 6 or 7 so I’m eating as much as I can now before the food aversions hit.
@Ambethsco welcome, and I hope this pregnancy is easier than the last! We'll have to have a "crafty mamas" thread at some point.. I never considered myself crafty but I took up cross stitch a few years ago and now I'm obsessed!
Found out: We had been trying for 7 months, with two early miscarriages, so everything had been timed and I knew I was 9 DPO. I was going to wait to test until my missed period but was so nauseous, so I used a cheapie test strip and got a very faint positive. The next day I got a positive on a first response and a clear blue digital.
About me: Me and my husband of 4 years have one two year old son, and two pups. I’m a nurse and I love hiking with my family in my off time.
Feeling: So nauseous, happy, and incredibly anxious. I’m 9 weeks today and I’ve already had an early ultrasound to see baby, beautiful heartbeat (156) detected at 7w3d. Both of my previous miscarriages happened at 7w2d so we’re feeling cautiously optimistic!
@PYLWhammy thanks! That’s a great idea. My daughter and I started sewing felt dolls over quarantine to pass the time and it turned out to be so fun. We came up with tragic back stories for each doll as joke 😂
How did you find out? Confirmed through a home test but despite planning on not having any more, I was so thrilled to find out.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I'm 38 and will be 39 when little one is born. Hubbs and I have been married for over 10 years, had difficulty getting pregnant, had a miscarriage in 2016, had our son in 2018, and had another miscarriage in 2020.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Nervous, but excited. Got hormone level checks before the first ultrasound appointment at 6 weeks. Next ultrasound (and glucose screening) is this week. Physically, obviously exhausted and falling asleep at work. Ha! I'm also nauseous, which is new. It's a struggle but not gonna complain because little one is worth it.

Lots of ****TW**** Sorry😔
I have my DD (mentioned above), husband of almost 5 years and an almost 6 year old dog( she is a corgi/terrier and is the best!).
Very anxious.
Hope to get to know you all❤
Diagnosed with PCOS & Hashimoto's
How did you find out?: We started trying in September 2020. Last Monday (the day before my period was due) I was feeling a little nauseous and decided to take a test just to see. I really didn’t expect to see a line but there it was! Total squinter, but it’s since gotten much darker.
Due date? December 5
My graduate program and med school were more than enough on their own to make me crazy so kudos to you! My only tip would be to do what my grandmother always said -- just keep moving, one foot in front of the other, and you'll survive it, one day at a time. My grandmother actually went to law school while her oldest kids were babies! She always told me that you'd be amazed at what you can do when it's actually on your plate.
@nicolegriggs1512
I've been having horrible mood swings -- yesterday was the worst, I just felt really tense and angry at everything; mostly just wanted to be left alone which can't really happen with a toddler underfoot. I also felt super bloated all day so it was all likely hormones.

could I please join the group? 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I got a positive pregnancy test about a week ago.
It was a total surprise.
I fell asleep sitting up at 6:30pm and had no memory of passing out when my DS woke me up.
I have a 6 year old, a golden doodle, and an extra fat cat. My SO works from home and I am currently so jealous of all the naps he can sneak in. I currently do nothing besides graduate school, napping, and working.
I had a funny feeling and decided to test 3 days before my expected period using a WONDFO and surprisingly, it was a faint positive. I later took a digital and it was also positive.
I'm celebrating my 10th anniversary this June with my DH, Jake.
Baby Girl Due: 1-1-22
December 29
I had my nexplanon taken out in February, but didn't have a period until March. I wasn't sure if my periods would be normal or not, so I tested last night after I was a week late. I had had some cramping over the weekend, so I kept waiting for my period to start but it never did.
I'm 34, will be 35 when I deliver, and DH is 33.

@melbel0824 welcome! 100 books a year is impressive! My goal for the year is 36 but not even sure I'll make that
I found out two days ago when I realized I was 4 days late.
