@thatwouldbeenough I’m happy to see you’re joining us this time around!! We are very happy to have you here! I too work at a university - but I’m only partially remote.
Hello, ladies! I've been lurking for a few days and have been very hesitant to intro, but here goes...
Due date? September 13 or 14. We did IVF and transfer was 12/24. According to the online due date calculators, it's one of these two.
How did you find out? I didn't want to test at home before my beta (almost 2 years of IF treatment will do that to you), so I found out by checking the results in the online portal. DH and I were both working from home that day, so we were able to find out together. I had two additional betas and they doubled each time, so we're feeling pretty hopeful so far!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I was on TTGP for 2 years, but took an extended break after our first busted IVF cycle back in August. I also started a new job at the same time, and knew I couldn't devote enough time to support the amazing ladies there as much as I wanted. I do recognize a few names here, though, which makes my heart happy. DH and I are both elementary school teachers (different school systems, though). We have been married since 2009, and ttc our first since summer 2018. *TW* we had an early miscarriage in December of 2018 and a chemical pregnancy in July of 2019.* This was our third round of IVF and the only embryo we had from this cycle. We're very nervous since I am AMA, but we're so hopeful that this is our rainbow. 🌈We have a spoiled, elderly, rescue mutt. I love to crochet, knit, and listen to true crime podcasts. That creates quite the visual: making baby items while learning about serial killers. 🤣 I am also a huge theater nerd and the pandemic has really been tough on the arts. I miss performing so much!
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Aside from sore breasts and super-itchy nipples, I am fine! I am always tired (teacher life, amiright?) so I don't know if that's a symptom. The lack of nausea makes me nervous but I keep telling myself it doesn't kick in for *most* people until week 6. My first ultrasound is with my RE on 1/28 and we have a virtual appointment later that morning. PGAL brain is a daily struggle, but we are choosing to celebrate, too. DH wants to tell our families now, but I told him we should wait until we see/hear a heartbeat. When we do tell them, we want to make it special since they have been so supportive through our IF treatments.
Looking forward to being a part of this BMB(I was beginning to think I would never get to join one again)! I hope I will be able to be on here enough to give the support you ladies deserve!
Sorry to burst in here but holy crap @emeraldduchess my heart stopped when I saw your name!! I’ve been thinking about you lately and seriously could not be happier to see this. Congratulations my friend and I hope you have the smoothest pregnancy ever!!❤️❤️
@bows22 thank you, friend! I have missed you ladies so much. I logged on to TB for the first time since August a few days ago and lurked on TTGP. So look for the occasional love-tit from the sparkly green shoes. 💚
*lurking* @emeraldduchess I couldn’t be happier to see this, friend! I’ve been lurking waiting for you to pop back up somewhere and this is the best possible place ❤️ Sending you all the good vibes for a healthy and uneventful pregnancy! Congratulations! 🌈
@emeraldduchess I am so so SO SO SO thrilled to hear this news this morning!!! A little b_ birdie told me and I came running!! I could not be happier for you!! You deserve so much love and happiness!! Wishing you the happiest, healthiest, most boring ever 9mo and beyond!!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
@emeraldduchess ohh my god friend, what an absolutely wonderful way to start the year. Have been thinking about you lots and I’m SO happy to see your name here. Sending you all the love and best wishes for your beautiful rainbow 💖 🌈

Dec '18-Mar '19: Letrozole + TI - all BFN
Apr '19: Letrozole + TI, - BFN. Repeat SA (27mil) & DNA fragmentation test (17%)
Due date? September 9, according to the online calculator.
How did you find out? We had been trying for 3 years. We did IVF in December with a fresh transfer on December 21. I started spotting about a week later and was entirely convinced it hadn’t worked, so when I had my beta on the 4th, I had very little hope. When the nurse called to tell me I was pregnant, I just started laughing and crying and scared the crap out of the cat 😂
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I live in Ottawa, Canada with my husband and our 10 year old cat. I’m a law clerk and currently looking for a new job. These days for fun, I enjoy staying at home and not seeing other people.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I’m doing okay I guess? Early pregnancy has been rocky. My progesterone hasn’t been where they want it (but never so low that it’s a foregone conclusion). I’ve been spotting almost the entire time and it’s turned into actual bleeding twice, briefly. My doctor isn’t concerned unless the bleeding goes on for a while or is accompanied by severe cramping, so I’m trying to keep that in mind. Otherwise, I have some mild cramping, my breasts are sore all the time, and I’m a little queasy, but no outright nausea yet. I actually had a scan done on the 9th because they were worried it was ectopic, but it isn’t and is where it’s supposed to be. My next scan is on Tuesday and hoping that the little blob is growing the way it should be.
@emeraldduchess This has been such amazing news to wake up to today!!!!! I am so thrilled for you, and I am so so excited for you!!!! Sending you all of my best wishes for your sweet little rainbow!!!!!

@JustAnotherUsername16 aww, thanks so much! Boo - wish you could be fully remote. On the plus side, I think some universities are going to offer vaccinations to staff. Not because everyone is in the priority groups, but because apparently we have so few organizations that are in a position to efficiently vaccinate large groups.
@emeraldduchess oh my gosh! I lurked a lot on ttgp and was so sad for you after that cycle. How exciting!!
@sawasap Congratulations!! Glad you have a scan so soon.
****lurk****and sorry to invade this thread, S21, but.....
@emeraldduchess NO FREAKING WAY!!! You are going to make me cry this morning. I am SO HAPPY for you friend, and I sincerely hope this is your rainbow 🌈 🌈 🌈!
@thatwouldbeenough thank you! Love your username, btw. Hamilton reference?
@Centralmnmom@sawasap glad to see some other IVF moms on here. @sawasap we are almost cycle twins! My retrieval was on Dec 21 and transfer on Dec 24th. I looked at our one little embryo as our Christmas gift.
@emeraldduchess OMG this is the best news ever!!! Congrats my friend I’ve been thinking of you and I am so happy to see you here! Wishing you all the best and I’m so hopeful this is your rainbow 🌈
Me: 35 DH: 35 TTC since 9/2018
Dx: MFI 10/19- First RE visit 2/20- DH had surgery for bilateral varicoceles 7/20- IUI with 5 mg letrozole- BFN 9/20- IVF. 9 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 8 fertilized with ICSI, 7 blasts, 4 PGT-A normal 11/20- Mock transfer/ERA 12/20- FET #1- transferred one 4AB- BFN 3/21- FET #2- transferred one 3AB- BFP! Due Dec 2021 12/21- Baby girl born!
@sawasap Yay another successful IVF Momma. I did my fresh transfer on 12/16. @emeraldduchess I had my first beta the day after Christmas. Best present ever!
I’m jumping over from the TWW and IF Boards. I am literally shocked bc I had my 1st IVF cycle fail in Nov and then didn’t get insurance approval for a 2nd cycle quick enough to do another in December. So SO and I decided to give it a shot naturally for the month while we waited on insurance...
Due date? According to calculators- Sept 23
How did you find out? AF usually comes CD 27-28. Was having cramps as if it was going to start any day. Then all of a sudden it was CD 30 and I decided on a whim to use a test I had. Said out loud “You’ve got to be shi@$ing me” and went out to buy another test. That too was positive! This all happened on Friday
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) SO and I are both college lacrosse coaches. I also teach college psychology courses. We have 2 awesome dogs and are living in upstate NY right now. We are both from MA and are looking for ways to get back there sooner rather than later. We have no family and very few ere, but right now our jobs are keeping us here.
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I kinda thought something was up when I started getting random waves of nausea/food aversion at dinner time. Very, very unlike me. I’m still feeling small bought of mild cramping and my boobs are really full. Gonna call OBGYN tomorrow to figure everything out. I am 39 (40 in June) so certainly considered hi risk. Other problem is, I spend half the year back in MA and own a home, so my insurance and residency is still MA. It’s a 4.5 hour drive... gonna need to figure out how to deal with the appointments. I’m not gonna be able to afford out of pocket in NY and I don’t want to switch insurance bc I’ll be in MA all summer. A lot to work out still.

This will be my second pregnancy and second child (if everything works out we’ll fx), I have a 4 year old daughter. I took a test when my period was a day late because I’m usually very regular and my husband and I DTD on O day so I knew that there was a strong chance of a BFP.
So far my symptoms have been pretty mild, but I do feel like things are kicking in faster this time around, like my ligaments already feel a little loose. But yea, just some mild nausea when I’m hungry, tiredness, sore boobs, and acid reflux.
My first appt isn’t until Feb.1 so I’m hoping everything will be good when I go. I hate this stage of limbo, I find myself trying not to get too excited yet.
Hello! I'm Kat and I just found out two days ago! Ahhh!
My estimated due date (according to the calculators) is Sept 21. The day after my sister's birthday!
How did I find out? My breasts! They were so heavy, swollen, and painful. My husband and I have been trying but only for a few months, so I brushed it off as probably about to start my period. But they were so bad, I decided to test anyway. I found out on Monday morning!
This is my first child, so I'm super nervous! I have furbabies and scalebabies (2 cats, 4 snakes and a fish). I'm currently a substitute teacher going to school to be a 7/8 grade science teacher, but I also breed those snakes and sell the babies every fall. I'm an amateur belly dancer, a costumer, and a gaming nerd. My husband has his own company and is a huge nerd like me.
My first appointment is next Monday and I'm nervous! Currently my symptoms are swollen, painful breasts, a little bit of nausea, some lower abdominal cramping and a change in discharge. I am very excited as this is my first child, and so ready to welcome them into our family!
I'll go ahead and jump in here!!! I got a faint positive yesterday and today
Due date? EDD 9/25 according to calculators
How did you find out? I'd been feeling the same cramps I felt when pregnant with my 1st and my period was 5 days late. I took 3 tests before and early when my period was supposed to be and those were all negative. The positive came the day after my period was supposed to have ended lol
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I'm 30, married for almost 2 years with an 11month old baby and our 4 year old cat. I'm a transmission line designer, and I've been doing that for 8 years!
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) I'm so excited about this! We wanted babies close in age (we want 3 or 4). I'm going to call tomorrow to schedule my first appointment, which will be kind of funny because the doctor won't see me until 8 weeks and that puts it the week of my baby girls 1st birthday! So I can joke and be like "ohh it's been a year since I've seen you! Symptoms: just lower back cramps but feeling great otherwise:)
I was lurking a bit until my u/s appt. today. I feel like the OLDEST mom-to-be here. 😅
Due Date: I think my DD will be 9/3 or 9/4.
About myself: I’m 41, married, and have an almost 8 y/o and 5 y/o. This will be #3 and a major surprise! We also have a rambunctious 2y/o puppy. I’m a busy SAHM and started homeschooling both this school year.
How did you find out? We had a very stressful December/early January, with my mom’s health and family issues. I was super stressed out. Don’t really track my period. But DH started joking about a baby and my period being late. Then I started noticing symptoms like tender nipples. And then I fell asleep in the afternoon, 2 days in a row. Which ONLY happens when I’m pregnant. After a lunch left me feeling funny, I went to get a test, and the stick turned like instantly - while I was still going. 🤭
How Am I Feeling?
TIRED. So tired. 🤪
I read that at my age, I only had a 5% chance of getting pregnant. I found out at 6 weeks, and I think the shock is starting to wear off, and after the u/s today, feels more real. I’ve also had a m/c in the past, so I think you never get over that worried feeling. A true surprise this is, but I know we’ll never regret the ones we have, only the ones we don’t.
It’s been so long since I’ve been in the baby game, glad to find a community to get back into it.
"To the world you may be just one person, but to one person, you may be the world." - unknown.
@chewie5990 - We have similar interests! I love cooking and binge watching Netflix too! Though, my desire to cook has really been bad the past couple weeks.
We go skiing/snowboarding every month too, bc we have a place in the mountains. But we found out before I used any days on my annual pass, so going to let it roll over. I have friends who have skied throughout their pregnancies, but I’m too nervous for that.
"To the world you may be just one person, but to one person, you may be the world." - unknown.
@aebrown061289 - Aww were dad twins and our kiddos are about the same age! Have you told them? I think DH will spill the beans soon bc he isn’t careful talking about the baby around them. But my DD cannot keep any secrets, so I want to wait until the first trimester.
"To the world you may be just one person, but to one person, you may be the world." - unknown.
Due date? I have no idea! BFP today, haven’t had a period since the one before my May 19 (June 19 BMB) baby was conceived. I had my birth control removed in December so I’m estimating around September/October
How did you find out? I test regularly. I have been feeling SO sick the last few days so tested this morning and boom!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets?Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?) I have a daughter born in May 2019 and was married to her father in December last year. We have 2 cats. I’m a process engineer in the mining industry and I live in Australia. My hobbies are pretty much non existent working full time & studying part time! I’m studying to be a breastfeeding counsellor for the Australian Breastfeeding Association
How are you feeling? (First appointment? Any symptoms? Emotionally?) Feeling very sick but SO EXCITED! In my last pregnancy I lost an ovary due to a torted ovarian cyst that had to be removed when I was 16 weeks pregnant, so we were warned things to take a while if the other didn’t compensate.
Looking forward to getting to know you all! I’m still in almost daily contact with my June 2019 BMB and I’ve absolutely loved it. I’m hoping there might be some more Australian mums in here too
@calimama88 yeah I'm not comfortable with going..my OB said she usually says if you are an expert skiier/snowboarder she would feel comfortable going during your first trimester..but I am definitely not an expert! Also I worry a lot about other people losing control and running into me which I can't control at all. It just really stinks because we got DS1 a snowboard for his birthday this year and I only got a chance to go with him 1 time and I was sooo looking forward to seeing him progress and having fun with him!
Re: Introductions!
