@malidocious@silverhope@emilylove25@treetop19 thanks for your responses. That makes me feel so much better. I know that chances are everything is fine with a good NT scan, I just get nervous and feel like I should have more info if I can. Glad to see I'm not the only one who isn't getting NIPT testing.
@emmasemm so glad to hear your had great results!!
Blood test happening soon and I’m nervous! They come to my house thought which is really cool. They will be here between 6-8pm and it’s only 6pm and I’m already shakey. Hoping the next two weeks fly by!
So relieved! Heard the heartbeat last week, and my OB office opts to only do NIPT, but have a deal with the Natera people so it's a lot cheaper if insurance doesn't cover (mine doesn't, obviously). Had blood taken a week ago, and got the results back yesterday - much faster than I was expecting (I expect the longest time so I don't make myself too crazy!) Everything super low risk, and...
IT'S A BOY! DH was less than thrilled, as he wanted a girl. After I pointed out to him that this is the first grandson in either of our families, he came round to the idea. 😂 Now we're both really excited. Now that we know it isn't just a jalapeno in there, first baby feels a lot more real.
Had my NT scan yesterday and everything looked good. 😁 NIPT results probably won’t be in until late next week bc of the holiday (Had the blood test Monday).
@laurenm2123 I’m not doing NIPT either. My insurance doesn’t cover it unless you’re 35+ or high risk and I’ve read some billing horror stories about people being quoted a certain price for out of pocket costs and ending up with a 900 dollar bill. I’ll have a NT scan mid September.
I’m waiting for my counsyl/myriad results. Does anyone know if when the portal says the results are under ”clinician review,” they’re referring to your clinician? Or are they talking about one of their clinicians? The estimated results day is Sept 5. I guess I’m just curious if my midwives already have access...
@orbmaker For me my doctors office called me 4 days before my counsyl/myriad portal said it had my results. Oh and mine never said it was under review.... but would give the last updated day. It was updated daily

My NIPT was through Progenity and results only took one week! My doctor emailed me to tell me the results were in and I would get a call from the nurse soon with the results. Two hours later and still no word, so I called hoping to talk to someone before the office closed for the day.
So glad I did because I found out our baby was healthy... and a girl! I think DH was hoping for boy because he has two daughters from his previous marriage. But we are all absolutely thrilled and the pregnancy feels more real than ever!!
@orbmaker I used the same company. I couldn’t see anything online until after my doctor called to explain the results and then released them online. I got emails both times that results were in (couldn’t see them yet) and that they were released (could then see them). I believe there is a drop down menu on the right with “view results” or something similar and once they are released there is a button to push to see them.
My NIPT results are in - low risk for all the trisomies. I'm so happy and relieved right now! I am having them mail the gender to me, so DH and I are doing a just-for-us gender reveal sometime later this week or next. Doing my happy dance.
Anxiously awaiting results from my NIPT screening. Online profile said results will be ready tomorrow. My first vial was broken by the lab so had to go in for a redraw and it's now been 3 weeks since I originally went in. I will be 35 next month and am pregnant with my first, my obgyn just automatically had me set up for both the nt ultrasound and blood screening. The NT scan was normal so hoping the blood results are the same. Im naturally a worrier but didn't realize how stressful pregnancy could be. Hope relief comes soon.
I had my NIPT today. The nurse said the results are pretty quick - maybe by the end of week but definitely by early next week. It's through LabCorp/Materniti21.
@orbmaker I took the test on a Friday and my doctor called the next Thursday. The results were online about two hours later. They told me when I drew blood that it would take four-five business days and it took four.
@aliray123 I had mine drawn last Monday and the next afternoon I got an email that said specimen was received and 9/3/today was the estimate for results. But it was a holiday weekend and at some point results day switched to 9/5. Just feeling mildly paranoid that it’s taking longer because of abnormal results or something.
@orbmaker I had my blood draw last Tuesday morning, they got my sample wed, and I’m still waiting. I’m using Invitae this time. Last time was Counsyl and I think it took 10 days.
Just got our results back and we are LOW RISK for everything. We opted to do a 16 week u/s and echo at 20 weeks just to check the heart out, but the genetic counselor was very positive that things are all good. I can finally breathe.
Edited to add that we will be opening up the envelope with the baby's sex tomorrow night. I can't wait to see if we will have all girls or if this babe will be a boy.
Anyone have Unitedhealthcare? How long before you got authorization? I'm still waiting for authorization to book my NIPT and I'm already 10 weeks three days. I'm getting really anxious.
@Madamemerle I have UHC choice plus plan and I took my NIPT test last week. I didn’t check before if it was covered. Let’s hope it is.😅 I’ll keep an eye out on my UHC app for any updates on charges and keep you posted.
Once my husband got home from work yesterday afternoon (he’s an elementary school teacher), I called my midwives just for the hell of it. They had the results and told us that baby was low-risk & A GIRL! I was simultaneously thrilled and disappointed by the sex news — I love the idea of my daughter growing up with a sister (I don’t have one!), but this could very well be our last child, so I also felt like I was mourning the possibility of raising a son. Regardless, I’m grateful for this happy news!
ugh so I got my blood draw done at 10w2d with harmony and they said to be sure that I was 10 weeks and according to my first dating ultrasound at 6w2d that was my timeline. I was pretty confident and based on my ovulation sticks (lol) due date of March 25th was on the ball.
I did a second dating ultrasound to be more precise at 8w2d that pushed my due date to March 28, 2020. I didn’t know this until I had my midwife appointment yesterday. So as it turns out, I did my NIPT blood draw at 9w6d unknowingly. Now I’m worried I’ll have to re-draw even though the harmony nurse said he rarely has to re-draw.
I'm wondering if anyone had had a similar experience or if anyone has any thoughts on the due dates being pushed back. My midwife said there may have not been enough data in my blood at that point so she suspects a re-draw is not unlikely in my case. I just dont want to delay getting the results as 10 day wait is hard to be patient for as-is.
@dunder_mifflin as you know I had to redo my draw and it really increased my anxiety. I did the draw at 10+2 when I measured 10+5 hence they were confident I would have enough... But I had also had a lot of blood draws in the previous 2 weeks and an Intralipid infusion which they said could have reduced the % fetal cfDNA in my blood. Additionally redraws are more common early if you’re overweight apparently.
Keeping everything crossed you won’t need the redraw. I have friends who did it 9+4/5/6 who had no problem...

Thanks @emmasemm for the response. That’s so annoying that happened to you! Your response was so helpful. I just called harmony and asked and they said they would consult with genetic counselor and get back to me. They may just re-draw automatically instead of having me wait and then do it, which is helpful. I’m fact i may just request it when they call me back just to avoid the whip hassle
Doctor's office called me 5 minutes ago and said that my blood work came back wonderful! Baby tested negative for all the trisomies and downs! I have a second round of blood work scheduled for Sept. 26th and then an anatomy scan the last week of October.
Also, it's a BOY according to the Sneak Peek test I used. I know to take those with a grain of salt, so I won't go running off to buy personalized boy stuff until the anatomy scan.
What a whirlwind of information I got in the last 15 minutes, lol. I'm feeling so insanely happy for the first time in WEEKS. I'm going to try to ride this good information for a while.
@Malidocious Congrats! Did you NIPT provide the sex? They usually test for the sex chromosomal disorders like Turner's plus give you the sex of the baby?
@jenEP Not as far as I know. My OB's office has been incredibly difficult when it comes to explaining their testing and why they do things the way they do them, which has been frustrating to say the least. I don't think the blood work I got done at the doctor's this round provided the sex information. This was blood work that accompanied the NT scan and tested for a handful of trisomies and Downs. I have more blood work coming back from Myriad/Counsyl for muscular atrophy and things like that. They mentioned that I could find out the sex with those results if I wanted to (which heck yes I do), but I have yet to receive those.
I only did the Sneak Peek because my OB's office was adamant that since I'm not AMA, I wasn't going to get any NIPT testing done. Then when I was there last week, they ended up doing a lot more testing than they previously mentioned. I'm confused about the whole thing, in case you couldn't tell! Lol!
Had blood drawn for NIPT today and also had the NT scan. Scan went perfectly, baby gave us lots of good profile and neck shots, which was nice since my son would NOT cooperate during his NT scan. Measurement was 1.4, which I’m grateful for. Feels even more real after seeing this LO wiggling around again Genetic counselor said we should have the NIPT results next week 😊
