We were thinking about Andromeda but it had more to do with the Greek Titan and the galaxy vs the Harry Potter character. But I try to keep fandom names to pets. Like our kitty drogo.
@marebear15 James T would be as close of a nod as I would want, because as soon as you said Tiberius, I immediately jumped to Star trek. But it's much better than Jean Luc in terms of how "recognizable" it is. But I'm also not a fan of clearly naming (first and middle) things after characters.
So I asked Hubby if we are set on Kyra and he tells me he likes Kinsley better 🤦🏻♀️ I still like both names.... he likes that Kinsley wont get butchered. I’m torn!
Hey everyone! Been wanting to post here bc I need some third party advice!
I have 3 girls so far,
Scarlett Jane Juliet Bea Marigold Ruth
I need another "matching" girl name. We dont find out the gender of the baby, I'm assuming at this point it's a girl bc it always has been! But also I have a boy name.
I am considering:
Eloise Darcy Madeline (pronounced the way it is spelled) I like Phoebe, but my sister keeps telling me it's not pretty enough to be in the list with my other girls' names..ugh opinions
I dont love them at this point but they are all I can come up with so far. Any suggestions that are somewhat uncommon. I like classic English names usually.
@DalexRN personally I like less popular names so I’d go with Kyra. I also just like it over Kinsley.
@quinnnicole out of that list I like Eloise. Madeline is also a favorite but personally I like each child to have a different letter name. I’m weird though lol.
@kbrown2385 totally...not weird at all. I really like each to have their own letter. I love the name June and Juniper, but can't do it bc I have a Juliet.
@quinnnicole I like Eloise best. I like Phoebe too, but funnily, I agree with your sister. It stands out too much from your other girls' names, which are more feminine. She might love that as she gets older, or she might feel like an outcast a bit. Funny how names can do that.
@biolprof my vote is Faye Wren. Hearing Wren Faye I just think of Fenway (where the Red Sox play). And since I don’t like the Red Sox, I don’t like that order as much! Ha, thoroughly random, I know.
Thanks all for your input! I do love Madeline but after thought about doubling initials, I cant do it! I just remembered a name that has been on my list since before I had kids. Elaine. It was also my late grandmother's middle name. So I'm now leaning more toward Elaine than Eloise. What's your thought on
Elaine May
@biolprof love the name Wren! I would love it as the first with maybe a middle name with more than one syllable. I agree with others that Faye Wren is a great flow!
@EmilyE13 not the red Sox! Even more reason for Faye Wren lol. DH hates the red Sox. He has been set on the name Wren for a while but I like it better as a middle name. I'll see if I like a double syllable middle name but we both like Faye too (which he also came up with) so I feel like I might be able to get him to compromise as a middle name.
Thanks for all the input! Now just to work on a boy's name lol
I'm one of those paranoid types, so I'll post the girl name we had picked out now that we know we're team blue.
Éowyn Rowen, pulled from Éowyn of Rohan, the character in LOTR who kills the Witch King of Angmar, whom "no mortal man" can kill. "I am NO man!" (of course she couldn't have killed him with out Merry's special sword, but they leave that out of the movie).
I will say we've considered and discarded several names for a boy so far: Fox, Frost, Sirius,Triton,Tyler...SO tried to convince me Kylo Ren would be a great name. I vetoed that. I love Adam Driver, but UGH
@FyreFlyeRush thanks! I like it too. Definitely feel like I'm having a boy though lol. We'll see if we get to use it. We're still working on the boys name.
I'm crying at my desk. I finally found our perfect girl name. I had a lot of specifics, like it had to be an older name that's made a comeback, but not in the top 100. Has to have a lot of syllables and "match" the name Felicity. And I finally found it.
Magnolia 😍😍😍
DH says he's going to "think about it" but he also shot back a few nicknames, so I think he's on board. We'll probably do Lynn as a middle name to honor my mom (Lynn) and his mom (Lynda).
@quinnnicole Elaine May sounds beautiful! @chelscreates Those are both really classic and pretty. @marebear15 Perfect name and goes wonderfully with Felicity.
I think we are set for our baby girl’s name. For context, DD is Reagan Ann, and this little one will be Isla Marilyn. Marilyn was my grandmother’s name (she passed away last summer), so I’m honoring her that way. And it made my dad and grandpa really happy. 🥰
I posted awhile ago about finding a 4th girl name that goes with our other three (Lucia, Viviana, Filippa). We aren't sure it's a girl, but we will find out soon enough and we assume it is. We've been looking and looking, but couldn't agree on anything. Then we finally told the girls, and my oldest asked if we could name her Mira. We all are really liking it! We aren't set, but my 2.5 year old only calls her 'Meea', so I think we will probably go with it.
@biolprof Interestingly, considering that its not very high on the common names list, Wren is also our top contender for girl names. (I'm also a biologist, so great minds think alike?) We have no ideas yet for a middle name, it would need to be more than 1 syllabol based on the last name (a very simple, 1 syllabol English last name.) Welcome any ideas!
We're considering Griffin for a boys name. DH prefers the spelling Gryphon, and while I theoretically like it, it seems cruel to guarantee his name is constantly misspelled. John would be the MN.
@catsinawindow ironically I can't take credit for Wren since DH has been insisting and he is definitely not a biologist but does love birds! Other names I considered with Wren that DH didn't like was Lilah and Mae so maybe those will help 🤷
When you read name Marin does it sound male or female? For me the female version would be Marina but interested to hear your thoughts since different cultures and perspectives
@c1kc1kpol1cn1k, coming from a predominantly Hispanic area, it sounds neutral to me, but I also read it as Mah-Reen. Like Martin, without the T. . Which is Marteen
I feel the need to jump in here. Hubby and I have been debating between Kyra and Kinsley but we couldn’t decide which one and there was always something holding me back. I’ve fallen in love with a new name and like @biolprof and @catsinawindow am loving Wren. Still trying to get hubby all in, but do you think Wren goes with DD McKenna? This baby is an unexpected rainbow and I’ve always felt she was sent here by her brother, so the image of a tiny beautiful bird flying down from heaven comes to my mind. Her brothers name Carson will be her middle name. Thoughts?

Carter Ashton are our names 😊
The two names are Faye and Wren.
I like Faye Wren D(last name) and he wants Wren Faye. Thoughts?
@quinnnicole Madeline, old English name for the middle name: Rose?
@biolprof it could go either way Faye is a pretty name, Wren seems to sound stronger. I like both!
