I've been off my birth control pill coming up on 6 months, and my cycles just keep getting longer and longer! My first was 37, then 41, then 43 and now it's been 44 days and nothing yet. I keep researching online if this is normal and a lot of sites say that it should take aprox 3 months to regulate. We've been TTC four about 5 months and nothing yet. Has anyone else had a similar issue and has seen a doctor? That is my next step.

Re: Long, irregular cycles after stopping BC
I have heard that it can take up to a year for your cycles to regulate after bcp. How long were your cycles before bcp? Are you charting? Are you ovulating? Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility to start charting to see if you are ovulating.
It isn't the long cycles that is the problem, but if you are ovulating or not. No ovulation, no pregnancy.

My doctor told me that it can take up to a year, maybe longer for your body to regulate. Everyone is different. I went off BCPs in December 2008 and started charting in January. My first cycle was 45 days, the next two were 80+ days and AF was induced by Provera for both. If I were you, I would start charting. Read TCOYF and/or visit www.fertilityfriend.com. Over your next couple of cycles, you will know if you are ovulating or not. If you are, work on your BD timing. If your cycles keep getting longer and you go 60-90 days without AF, then I would call the doctor. Good luck!
Hello,
I was on BC for 10 years. I went off September 2008 and I had a situation similiar to yours. My cycles kept getting longer and longer each month. I was freaking out because DH and I wanted to start trying to get KU. My dr. didn't seem that concerned and recommended we use an ovulation predictor kit to figure out when I ovulate. We found out i ovulate on day 20 instead of day 12. We got KU the first month we tried. Unfortunately we had a MC but it really did put my mind at ease about my long cyles. The most frustrating part is having whole months w/o a period. Good luck to you TTC.
