I had some spotting yesterday at 6w4d. Defi it key freaked me out a bit as my last 2 pregnancies I didnt have any. Had a doctor's appointment for my chest already so asked the doctor on call about it and she said not to worry, that it's fairly normal and mentioned it could have been from implantation but that seems really late does it not? I had no cramps associated with it whatsoever.
@liamsmommy09 I’ve heard/read of people’s doctors calling it implantation bleeding that late but it does seem like a while after implantation actually exists? I did have spotting, actually bright red and more like a gush (sorry TMI) 2 times with my DD who is now 2 1/2. It happened around 4 1/2 weeks and 8 weeks. So even if it isn’t implantation bleeding, it can be “normal”, and can be nothing. I’d probably just take it easy and if it keeps up or gets worse call your OB.
@liamsmommy09, just wanted to add my voice and experience to the reassuring chorus. I’ve had two (successful) pregnancies prior to this one and I’ve bled on and off with both. With my oldest, I started bleeding at 4+3 and would have assumed it was my regular, normal period if I hadn’t known I was pregnant. It lasted off and on with spotting for 3 to 4 weeks. That is still “unexplained bleeding”. He’s a healthy 3 year old now. I started bleeding with the twins at 11+6 (I remember, because it was the day before Christmas Eve and I was SO upset because I had wanted to surprise my husband with the twin news on Christmas at 12 weeks) and that was A LOT of blood all at once. That ended up being a subchorionic hemorrhage with Twin A’s placenta. They are now 16 months and healthy. So, two healthy pregnancies, three healthy babies, and bleeding all over the place.
I know you know this, but it’s reassuring to hear someone else say it, I think: bleeding is always scary, but it doesn’t always mean anything. Hopefully, your doctor will be able to reassure you that everything is running along smoothly.

@liamsmommy09 Plus one on the bleeding with healthy pregnancy train! I bled with DD from 6 weeks to 13 weeks with no explanation. My OB said I had an “irritable cervix” that was just really sensitive. Ultrasounds, sex, BM, too much walking, exercise, etc would all trigger bleeding. She is a healthy 3 year old now! My OB said bleeding is never “normal” but very very very common. I had some spotting with this one for about 2 weeks and it turned out to be a yeast infection.
This pregnancy I actually thought I started my period. Usually my first day is lighter and it felt just like that, blood noticeable when I wiped and on a pad but it was definitely more than spotting. Went on for a solid day on Saturday. No real bleeding on Sunday which was odd and when I hadn’t started bleeding agin I tested with a squinter Monday. I can’t think it was implantation it seemed very late and unlikely that’s I’d get a positive 2 days later but I am not doctor. I am curious when I get my U/S if I will measure on time.

@KissMeImScottish Your husband didn't know you were having twins until 12 weeks?!?!?

@eleven_@ruby696 , in my defense, -I- didn’t know I was having twins until 10.5 weeks. We got pregnant while we were living in Hawaii and I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks (with my husband there) to confirm the pregnancy and to clear me to fly. They only saw one baby, completely missed the second. Then, my son and I moved back to Connecticut while my husband stayed in Hawaii to finish his tour on the submarine before he came east as well. Since he was going to be out to sea, anyway, it made sense for me to leave ahead of him (I had already purchased our house in CT during his last deployment, so I had a place to go). When I came back to the mainland, I obviously had to get a new doctor and they required their own set of scans, so I went in at 10+5 to have that ultrasound done and the tech was like, ok, there’s one heartbeat (and I leaned back and was ok, I can relax now) and then she’s like, ...annnd there’s the second, and I just about fell off the table with the wand still all up in my business. My husband didn’t get back from his underway (he was literally unreachable since he was underwater) until 4 days before Christmas). So I only had to keep the secret for less than a week - even that was hard! That’s pretty standard with a submarine schedule, though, so we’re used to it. It just bummed me out because I was so excited to surprise him. He gives me such crap because I didn’t do anything exciting to tell him I was pregnant that time - I just came back to bed after testing and was like, hey, we’re pregnant. So we were planning on telling my parents on Christmas by having an extra stocking on the mantel. So I wrapped up a matching sticking for my husband to open on Christmas and was going to surprise him by having him open that. Buuuut then I started bleeding on the 23rd and had to be like, well, you’re going to fond out at the ER anyway, so, surprise! There’s two! Poor guy had to deal with finding out that not only was I pregnant with twins, but I also was potentially miscarrying them at the same time. It was a mess.

@KissMeImScottish I would have probably tried to do the same, especially since you only knew for a few days. That's a great story - too bad you ended up at the ER though.
6 weeks 5 days , I went to the doctor at 6 weeks for spotting but after my beta results she told me I was fine. I am still spotting but I only see small damps of light pink blood when I use the restroom once or twice out of the ten times I go. I was worried at first but I’m a little at ease being this is our first pregnancy and I have so much to learn.
Not spotting but no other thread feels right. I started having mild cramps yesterday. I assumed it was dehydration as we were out for a long time without water. But I still have them today. I took a test and it much lighter than two weeks ago (7w4d today) and for the last two weeks my symptoms have grown lighter. Got my hopes up it could be the 'hook effect' but the tests do not show it. I feel like something is wrong. My appt is Wednesday but I'm going to ask if they can see me sooner. In a dark place right now.
@jhems776 I’m so so sorry. 😢 I have heard that as your HcG gets higher it can make the test actually appear lighter. So don’t lose all hope just yet.
Is there a way you can call the on call nurse and have her put in an outpatient lab draw to check your HcG? That way you only have to pay for a lab draw and not an appointment. Our hospital does that all the time and we run the test right away. Just so you aren’t in limbo for several days.
Hugs and praying everything is ok.

@jhems776 I’m sorry you’re stuck in limbo. That is the worst feeling. I second @meatballs37, I’d ask for an HCG draw today or tomorrow. Waiting that long is not fair. Hugs to you.
@jhems776 Also, if you have any more tests, you can always try diluting your urine and testing again. Apparently after HCG gets too high, the test will appear lighter unless urine is diluted. Dr. Google showed SEVERAL threads on TB and BabyCenter that tested later in pregnancy (after 5 weeks) and got a lighter test, but then got a dark line once they diluted the urine. Might be worth a try.
@jhems776 I'm so sorry for this uncertainty. I hope they will be able to see you sooner than Wednesday. I will be thinking about you until we get updates

Brown spotting is back AGAIN. I had a nice break after the yeast infection was treated. Came in to see my OB tonight and still no explanation. Baby looked good, measuring at 8w0d with a hb of 168 and I am 7w2d so that’s good. No SCH. No infection, though I am waiting on the results of a BV swab. I’m just so nervous. I bled with DD too but I knew why (irritable cervix) and I knew when to expect bleeding. It was never brown with her, always pink. This time with it being brown and unpredictable stresses me out because *TW* everyone I know that had a MMC or a later miscarriage had intermittent brown bleeding *END TW*. Ugh. The first trimester is so hard.
I’m freaking out over here. Woke up in the middle of the night with major cramping and more blood than I’ve ever seen! I have been spotting all week, but this was not spotting. Enormous clots and just very heavy blood. Going to call the doctor first thing, but I’m fearing the worst. I’ve never experienced anything like this in either of my pregnancies before. I’m so sad.
@carleym93 I’m sorry the spotting is back and there’s no explanation, but I’m glad you were able to be seen and baby looks good. @JuneBabyH Fx everything is ok and your dr gets you in ASAP
@carleym93 sorry the spotting is back. FWW, not everyone you know 😉 I had 0 warning signs. But I'm glad babe seems to be doing well and hope this is nothing.
@junebabyh fx your doc can get you in asap and that everything is okay for you.
Thank you so much for all the kind wordsn it means more than you know. Still waiting for the docs to get in so the office can call me back. Still mild cramping and less symptoms.
@JuneBabyH Oh no! That is terrifying, thinking of you.
