The dr is on annual leave until Friday and last time I went to another person at the clinic, they were super useless so not keen to risk seeing someone else. I haven't gone through a whole pad and it's been 3 or so hours so hoping that's a good sign. It's bed time now here so will rest up and hope for the best. Thanks for your reply, means so much. ♥️
Still having brown spotting at 5w5d. I didn’t have brown with DD, I had pink, but that’s because I had an irritable cervix and a whole list of things would cause my cervix to bleed a little. I’ve never just had brown, and of course its worrying me.
@carleym93 if it helps, my OB said to only worry if it's bright red. I'm not a doctor, though, so I'd suggest calling yours (or talking to the RN on duty) just to check, since it's been going for a while now.
@kiwiaussiemum If you are still bleeding bright red, I would personally go in to the ER. I’m not sure if your health insurance (or however it works in Aus) will allow for it, but no way I could wait until Friday.
Argh I probably should have done that. I wore a pad today and got through the day with only light bleeding (hectic day at work stopped me thinking about it) and now it has stopped which I'm thinking is a good sign. It's at the point that I might as well wait for tomorrow. I'm going to pressure the dr into giving me a scan tomorrow. If there's a heartbeat, I'll be walking on sunshine. If not, I think we'll just have to come to terms with the fact that our turn will be soon and not just yet. Anyone who reads this, I'd really appreciate your prayers and happy thoughts at about 2.15pm Australia time! Will keep you posted. Xxx

There was a heartbeat!! All is ok with the baby and everything around it and they're not sure what the bleeding was about but will keep monitoring. So so happy. Ladies, don't lose hope even if you have bleeding. Get that scan because it can save hours (or in my case days) of anxiety! Thanks to everyone for their prayers. ♥️♥️
Had some minor light pink spotting last night after a strained bowel movement and then it stopped for a bit. Started lightly again this morning. I’m 6.5 weeks and super scared. Decided to come to emergency and just get everything checked. FX little peanut is ol 😪
@mandik85 Hope you were reassured in the ER. I also spotted after a BM in week 4 (almost an entire day, on and off), and in week 5 (single wipe, very light). I spoke to the nurse the first time, and she said unless I was cramping, it wasn't a concern. I haven't had a repeat since then... fingers crossed this is the last of the spotting you see!
@marijaa333 was definitely reassured. Had an ultrasound on one of the little portable machines, not as in depth, but was told everything looks how it should for where I’m at. He was able to see the yolk sack, fetal pole and was pretty sure he saw the heartbeat flicker!!! No more bleeding since yesterday and haven’t had any cramping at all. So definitely feeling better about things today!!
This thread is giving me some hope! I’m currently sitting in an ER waiting room after losing a decent amount of blood a couple of hours ago. I was convinced the pregnancy was over and rushed from work to the ER, but then the bleeding stopped so I’m hoping that’s a good sign. Fingers crossed 🙏🤞
Edit: After a VERY long day at the hospital and on and off bleeding all day, we’re back home and eveything is okay. They found a heartbeat and baby is growing normally, but they did find a very large hematoma which is what’s causing the bleeding. Apparently it’s not necessarily a cause for concern, but I have to continue to monitor it as it seems the large size of it could present issues.
I posted in my group earlier today. Long story short I started bleeding on Friday, went to the ER Saturday and had to wait until today for an ultrasound. Apparently my HCG levels were very low on Saturday when they did bloodwork. I knew it was inevitable, but needed that final confirmation today.
So here I say my farewell, and wish all you ladies the very best of luck ❤️
@stokesm21, I’m so, so sorry. That is so hard, even if you already suspected. Be kind to yourself - we will miss you here.

@stokesm21 I am so sorry. I know you were just starting to get excited to the idea of it all. Hugs. There are some wonderful ladies on the TTGP (trying to get pregnant) board who have a very supportive TTCAL (trying to conceive after loss) thread.

I felt the need to post here before anywere else...
Found out I was pregnant at 4w5d (you can set a clock to my periods) At exactly 5w (Saturday) I started spotting, only visible when wiping, also the hubs and I had sex Saturday evening and I noticed that it was a little worse afterward. Sunday it was worse, more of a brown red color with trace, pinprick size tissue and very light, hardly noticeable cramps. Monday the cramps were a little more evident and the spotting was now red - if I didn't know I was pregnant I would assume it was D1 of a very light period. Tissue visible when wiping but no blood clots. Woke up today to just a tiny bit of blood on a tampon (I ran out of pads at the end of night - nurse friend confirmed that a tampon would be ok). Not a single trace of blood was evident when I wiped.
I am hoping that it was just implantation bleeding - I've read that cramps and bleeding during W5 aren't uncommon.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar and still had a successful pregnancy?
@tessarhea hi, welcome! Yes spotting can be normal early on in a pregnancy. I had spotting around 4/5 weeks and then again around 8 weeks with my DD (she’s now a healthy 2 1/2 year old). There can be many reasons you could be spotting (sex being one of them). I would call your OB and see if they want to see you.
I'm really sorry to hear your update @stokesm21. Sending lots of love to you and your partner.
Just thought I'd send an update in case anyone else has had this happen - I actually haven't stopped spotting since my big scare and big bleed last week. I'm not too worried after seeing the little heartbeat and the drs saying that there was nothing wrong with anything internally. No cramps. Just marks on my undies every day. I've asked a bunch of friends who have had babies and some of them had it come and go throughout their pregnancy and all was ok. I'm going to check in with dr again early next week if nothing has stopped. Will keep you all posted.
I am hopeful that the bleeding is just implantation or some pregnancy anomaly. If not I've accepted that its just not time/meant to be and we'll try again. I will keep y'all posted.
** I started spotting+cramping again this evening after about 8hrs of neither**
