Last night I had a very vivid dream that I gave birth  to a baby girl at 34 weeks and somehow I didn't know the gender in advance. I was explaining to the doctor how I didn't have any boy names saved and it was a good thing it was a girl. (which is true in real life I have no boy names saved)

My 11mo old spent all of yesterday throwing herself into full hysterics if she wasn't touching me, on me, being held by me. So of course my back and everything hurt today, and DH is out of town from yesterday til Thurs. This is going to be a long week.

@disneybaby84 when I was pregnant with DS we had a girl name locked in before we found out he's a boy. This time we have a boy named locked in but no girl name. UGH.

We've used our boy and girl names and really have no names we are set on, so this is awesome.

@kayjay44 - We’re in the same boat. I think I’m actually okay w/ being Team Green for the sheer fact that we don’t need to commit to a name until Baby is born.

Yeah we can't agree on any names this time around..

My 3 year old is seriously giving me a run for it these days.  I remember my older daughter going through this phase too where she was the most irrational human being on the planet for like 4-5 months then she snapped out of it.  I guess I should be glad she's getting it over with before the baby comes but we're going to Myrtle Beach next week and I'm a little worried she's going to ass out every 5 seconds and make everyone miserable.

I intro'd but first time jumping in. I was on vacation last week so having to come back to reality today is just hard. Not to mention the morning sickness has been worse today than it has been.

@kayjay44 I will personally never get tired of hearing about the batshit crazy stuff your MIL does. Do you think she has like a little calendar and she's circled every Monday. Like "30 more weeks!" Also the fact that this isn't  your first and she's still looney. Did she do that with your other kids?

@BourbonBiscuits - I’ll keep sharing because I need to get it out somewhere. She didn’t do this with our others. Our first, she was mad at us for getting pregnant and “ruining” her life for the first 4 months or so. Our second, I don’t even remember. I’m pretty sure she has untreated borderline personality disorder so her behavior is pretty erratic. 

eta: @Erinm278 - IDK, I just want it to stop. It's my pregnancy and I have enough shit going on without needing to be her BFF/surrogate daughter. She's cray.

@Erinm278 my toddler is in that phase right now too. We just got back from a week at the beach and she was absolutely horrible. I hope your toddler goes easy on you! I feel guilty about how much yelling I did, but between her almost ruining an expensive vacation and me being pregnant, I snapped.

Why does no one tell you how hard toddlers are? My kids are nightmares starting at 2 and I'll have to let you know when that ends because DD is 4 and there is no end in sight.

@BourbonBiscuits I love shark week! Unfortunately we just got rid of cable so I’ll be going without (along with Hallmark Christmas movies )

We finally told the inlaws over the weekend! Husband put together photos of our vacation and added my US pic at the end. We watched it together, when we got to the end they were so confused! They were not expecting it at all, my husband and I were like “what’s that? Is that an ultrasound picture?? What’s it doing there, whose is it??”

When it finally clicked they were so happy! They’ve been waiting for this for years, so no pressure or anything. I love them, but I was half expecting my MIL to become a little crazy/obsessive. So far I don’t think that’s happening though! They know when to keep their distance and aren’t asking any too invasive questions. My MIL even caught herself asking how long we’d been trying and immediately said “sorry if that’s too personal, you don’t have to answer that”. I think we’re good!

@allthingsgo we got rid of cable a few years ago, but we use my in-laws' cable log-in to watch live on the AppleTV. Totally cheating, but it's worth it to get to watch these lil baby sharkies.

@kayjay44 yeah I wouldn’t trade with you! I love reading about your MIL though, every time you mention her I reach for my imaginary popcorn. I’m sorry you have to deal with her, but she sure is entertaining.

Am I the only one who hasn't told either sides of the family yet? I'm 12 weeks today. I am just really enjoying keeping this in my pocket, and luckily H is team "do whatever makes you most comfortable." I don't know, maybe after my NT scan next week.

That's exactly how I feel.

My mom also remembers that Wednesdays are my week change day but she manages to do it in a completely non-invasive way. MIL is really up in my business with her app.

@bleucheeznwine I wanted to keep it a secret until after first tri, but spending two whole weeks with my parents, who I see once a year, made it difficult to hide (they know I like my wine and beer). It was also nice to be able to tell them in person, and my mom would have probably killed me if she knew I spent two weeks with her and she didn’t know. 

After telling my parents, I felt bad keeping my inlaws in the dark, so we decided to tell them after the viability scan. Nobody else knows, not even my siblings. We plan on start telling people after the NT scan/end of first tri. 

... okay one more person knows, a coworker who walked in on me puking in the bathroom at work. Whoops!

@bleucheeznwine - We wanted to wait but MIL was demanding answers about a vacation they've invited us on next spring and was throwing fits that we wouldn't give her an answer AND an explanation. So we had to tell before we were ready. We didn't want to just tell ILs and not tell my parents (since they are the supportive, helpful ones). Now MIL is asking every other day when we are announcing and when she can tell everyone - we've never really announced publicly and she doesn't need to be telling people. She "accidentally" told a bunch of people on FB last time and we were not happy.

Someone please talk me off a ledge with potty training my DS.  We enrolled him in nursery school starting September and they do not change diapers.  I felt confident that my DS who gave up his formula, bottle, binky etc with relative ease would get potty training pretty well. 

Cut to 5 weeks left to start of school and he is down right refusing to use it.  He knows HOW to use it and will poop and pee on it if I lead him there/make him go but he’s not connecting having to go on his own and is purposefully telling me we pee on rugs not potty’s.

we decided to go gung ho and do potty training boot camp/3 day method in two weeks.  STMs give me a light at the end of the tunnel...

@danixbanani24 - This was DD - she's super independent and was capable of using the toilet, but refused to in order to maintain control. We had to just let it happen naturally because no method was working. She was finally potty trained by 4. All I have to say is good luck!

@bleucheeznwine - We are only telling our families because we’re taking a big family trip the beginning of August and it’s be weird if I wasn’t riding amusement park rides and drinking at dinner. 

@danixbanani24 - STM here. My first was a dream to potty train. It was 6 weeks before she turned 3 and it was all on her terms - she literally said “I don’t want to wear diapers anymore” and she was fully trained in a day and a half. My second (a boy) on the other hand... he’s 3y4m and literally doesn’t give a shit (pun intended). I just withdrew his preschool application for the fall because I know he won’t be trained in time. I’ve decided that he most likely won’t go to prom wearing Pampers so whatevs. I’m letting him take the lead for a bit and waiting until he is more ready. Life is too short to fight over potty training.

DD had to decide on her own. She just woke up one day and decided she was not going to wear a diaper any more and that was that.

@danixbanani24 that sounds so frustrating! I’m about the start potty training and I am dreading it. Have you heard of the book Oh Crap for potty training? I have some friends and have read lots of reviews who swear by it. It lays out what to do pretty concisely and also details troubleshooting issues. Maybe that would be helpful? We start tomorrow so I’m hoping it is as good as it seems!

@danixbanani24 I wish there was a magic "works every time" top to potty training. I am in the middle of training my third, and luckily it is going better than the first two, which took forever.

Yup I’m feeling totally like overwhelmed with this potty training business.  I’m going to try the oh crap! Method...if that doesn’t work I don’t know I guess I need to withdraw him from school because I don’t want to send him and risk him loving it and then telling him he can’t go.  Ugh whyyyyy

Honestly I read the oh crap book and it just didn’t seem like it was going to fly with daycare. So she’s  just been occasionally peeing on the potty and always pooping in a diaper. I think we are getting closer and I hope it will just click one day
