  • Apparently we didn't have a WTF Wednesday posted yesterday (that I could find?). We are such a call bunch of pregnant women. Lol.
But today is definitely my WTF. So WTF to my husband. Look, I understand you are just learning how to grocery shop, let alone grocery shop for a family, but WTAF dude?! (No you didn't read that wrong, my mid 30s aged husband was never taught to or learned to, or had to grocery shop before now! When he admitted that about 2 or so weeks ago I was astounded. Then it made a lot more sense. I know that probably seems hard to believe. But we have been living together since I was 18/19, so I always grocery shopped. Before that he was active duty military, on an active base. He didn't have to grocery shop. Meals were provided or restaurants. Before that he lived with his dad. His dad was a "lazy cook" and would just stock up on large amounts of quick/easy foods. Ramen, spaghetti, frozen meals etc or they had take out... He's really never had to grocery shop for food (other than oh I want a bag of ______ and grabbing it). It's so crazy!) He works 3rds so I asked him to grab some things from the store (usually my list is pretty specific the handful of times I ask this, because he isn't used to knowing what kinds/brands we buy. Not a big deal.) But you would think after ALL these years together, you would at least remember my likes and dislikes. I wasn't specific, and just said chips. Now I didn't think this would be a huge issue. I'm not super picky, I could literally count on probably 1 hand the chips I WON'T eat. So what's he do? Brings home 3 bags of chips all in different variations of the 1 flavor I dislike the most! Like seriously dude? More than a decade I have literally NEVER eaten or purchased BBQ chips, in any variation. And that literally the only kind you buy??? Who TF does that?! Also who buys 3 bags of variations of the same flavor?!
Ugh don't mess with a pregnant woman and food! I'm just now starting to really get even a little hungry and eating/having cravings (HG is STILL kicking my ass. It actually seemed to get worse the last 2 weeks again. Still no weight gain :/ ). I'm so ragey right now, and he is unaware because he's sleeping before work *sigh*

    Sorry for the rant!
  • I had someone say today that I don't look pregnant at all when she found out my due date. It made me sad because I'm proud of my bump.

Also, I never get the flu shot but I'm getting it before baby is due this year in the hopes it'll pass some immunity to her. I'm super paranoid after the number of kids got sick during last years flu season. And my state isn't the best with vac rates.

@jomama1618 I feel your pain. My DH never grocery shops or cooks either! We started doing chefs plate to give me a break from 11 years of soly doing it. I love it! He also has been learning to cook with the receips (mostly because he had to when I had my first surgery and was in a sling for 9 weeks.,)

Thanks for adding this fact! Very cool!
  • I looked it up after someone on FB had said they didn't want the shot while pregnant.
  • To add, I had my tdap again last Nov for traveling and had absolutely zero side effects, pain, or symptoms. And my body is usually pretty sensitive to stuff.

Maybe I'm strange, but I don't have trouble with the peeing in the cup.  TMI?  I just kinda hover over the toilet and hold the cup right up against myself, fill it a bit, stop the stream and then do the rest normal style.
  • @kfrob I do the same. I just hold it up against myself, although it still sometimes misses.
  • KFrobKFrob member
@sammierose464 There's always that chance that the stream goes awry for no reason
  • @sammierose464 that is SO cool! Little creepy but still mostly cool! They are a big company but they do a pretty good job of taking care of everyone without feeling big!
  • I just want to be clear I didn’t mean to discourage anyone from getting the vaccine by complaining about the discomfort! The injection itself was no worse than any other vaccine. My upper arm just felt bruised to the touch or when I tightened the muscle starting about 12 hours later and lasting about a day and a half after. I got it Tuesday morning and no more discomfort now. No other side effects at all.
The discussion actually made me open to getting it, so thank you! My original plan was to wait until I delivered and deal with the side effects then because the drs made it seem like my side effects weren’t normal and I’d be in the hospital if anything went wrong, but apparently a few of you have had similar reactions to it, so clearly it is the range of normal.

  • @krzyriver What happened? Just made the decision you don't want to go back?

Their customer service is phenomenal. I get Christmas cards from them. I've heard stories of people calling to return a product because their pet died. They were told to donate the food to a shelter and they would refund.

@krzyriver just in dental? I'll keep my eyes open for you.
  • @jweber4747 This would 100% be my H if I ever sent him out for veggies. Poor man wouldn’t know a brussel sprout if it bit him.
  • That would be my husband doing laundry...I don't think he's ever done it himself (I know his ex-wife did it, and his mom when he lived with her). Granted, i don't really trust him to do the laundry now.
  • awww they are precious.
  • chyviechyvie member
@sammierose464 DH might not cook or grocery shop but I draw the line at doing his stinky laundry! LOL He does his and I do mine and it works out perfectly. Granted its because I don't trust him doing mine ;)

  • Ugh I just got an email this morning about a great sounding position that opened up in another dept at my company, which as I told DH, if I weren’t 7 months pregnant, I would apply for in a second. I wish the timing were better so I could apply

    @mytrueloves aww such cute kittens!!!!
  • @mytrueloves awww what sweetie pies. Are you keeping them or fostering? Great names too.
  • @pumpkinpancake apply anyway!! You being pregnant (technically) shouldn't have an effect on the job. If they truly want you, they'll wait.
  • @rc-cola Keeping them! DF made it clear we were the second he saw them lol If we'd been able to catch the mama, we were planning on taking her home with us, getting her nursed up, and finding her a home.

@jweber4747 That would be my husband that has never had to grocery shop. I think the funnier part of that may be, DH would be able to find basically any veggie or fruit (despite obscurity) that I asked him to pick up. But he couldn't figure out where jelly would be (and didn't want to walk every aisle after work) so just grabbed one from the organic section, because he knew he seen some jelly in that section when he passed it :joy: (the organic section is right next to the produce that's why he know where it is. He is also a pretty great cook (which I know makes little sense lol) but he isn't allowed to touch the laundry.  Im way to particular about that. But being a SAHM, it's all kind of my domain, and I like it that way.

@mytrueloves those kittens are adorable!!! The closest thing we get is a few neighbor cats come to hangout with our cats..
  • That sounds miserable @krzyriver, I don't blame you at all.

So my health insurance provider, that also employees me, sent me a link to the website I need to order my breast pump, except my work computer won't let me attached the pdf of the prescription for the pump and blocks the web page..... good going guys.  I guess I'll be calling.

Its officially official. I will be job hunting on maternity leave. My goal is to never go back to my company. Anyone know someone who’s hiring?  :|
This is me too. I was trying to leave this year and am sticking it out, but I’m SO DONE.
