I can start a group chat on here with you @sammierose464 and @sliztee if you're both fine with that and being admins? And we can figure out how to go about it and intro questions and such
I plan to move to Facebook when the time comes, but I want to echo @knottieamusements’s concerns above. I don’t particularly like the bump with all it’s issues, but I would hate to leave behind some of the regular posters before the end of our pregnancies just because we move over early. I get that Facebook is more appealing to some, but if a lot of us move early, this board will most likely fizzle out somewhat, because who really has the energy or time to post on two places?
@pumpkinpancake I think we're all concerned about it. I guess we'll just try it out and maybe the FB group will just be a place to share pictures and memes until everyone makes the final migration.
@chopchop25 get in there girl. Share the load. Seems to me like anyone who’s been around regularly and puts their hand up right now when the group is being started should be allowed to be an admin. Also thank you guys @chopchop25@sliztee@mamabearcj@sammierose464 in advance for dealing with the future pain in the butt that I expect being admins will be.
@chopchop25 absolutely fine with me too!! I'm in agreement with everyone's concerns about moving too early, I dont want to lose the connections we have here. I think that since it's been voiced by so many that they aren't comfortable with moving until closer to October that there's going to be plenty of activity here for awhile. I still think waiting to move is the best decision for the group but if a group is made now I am happy to help admin it and filter out randoms etc. My biggest concern is it's already been said that some are sick of the app and the sooner they can move to fb the sooner they can be done with tb.

I really like this idea. Use the fb group as a random place to get closer but still have the key conversation here for some time. Give people time to feel comfortable and ready to move.
Thank you everyone who volunteered to be admin! I’m admin in my other BMB’s FB group and while it doesn’t occupy a lot of time, sometimes it sucks! Lol. Kudos!!
I think especially for STM+ this platform is really hard. When I was pregnant with DS I had so much more time to really keep on everything, plus I was at work so I could actually get notifications if someone mentioned me because I was on the computer. Now it's a guessing game. I come on every couple of hours to see if anything happened... but on FB I get a notification if someone comments on a post, mentions me, creates a new post... just SO much more user friendly.

Exactly how I feel! Stupid TB and it’s guessing games.
Some thoughts... Last night @chopchop25, @mamabearcj, @sliztee and I all started talking about the FB group. (FYI, FB messenger is so much nicer than the Bump inbox!) We began to talk about a vetting process, group rules, and the general feedback from this thread. We are not all set on rules/vetting, but have a good start. However, we did agree on a few things pretty strongly that I wanted to share.
- It seems the general consensus is that while many of us want to move to FB (some sooner than others), we don't want to lose the great relationships we have built here, especially with those who don't plan on moving with us. - We also don't want to leave some behind in such a critical time of our pregnancies. Crazy to believe, but babies could start coming any day now! We know there's a few who are already on watch. And while we hope those babies stay put a while longer, we all need each other right now.
The "FB admins" feel very strongly that if we go to a FB group now that we still keep TB active. All 4 of us agree we would still come here for regular conversation, daily/weekly threads, and general advice. We think the FB group between now and say October would be more of a place for people to begin to get comfortable. We know change is hard and scary. We know some may be ready now, but others might not. We want to allow people that time to adjust. IF we opened the FB group now, we'd ask that it mainly be for fun memes, light conversation, posting pictures of ourselves/family/kids that we don't fee comfortable posting here, and an adjustment period. We'd ask that more important conversations still be here, so all could benefit.
I also don't want to put words in the other ladies mouths, I'm know they will add their thoughts if they disagree or have more to say.
That was long, but hopefully generalized much of what has been said the last few days.
I know I will still be on TB regularly regardless of if we move since I am part of a few private bump groups from my time on TTGP and IF groups, so I am very happy to still be active here, even if we move to FB
Question about the group name - not sure how everyone else feels about it, but if we’re moving to a group sooner than later, and will be keeping it closed but not secret for a while, could the name be something more generic and less obviously pregnancy related? I still tend to like to keep my pregnancy stuff somewhat private with family and friends especially since many have struggled, and wouldn’t really want to broadcast the group on my FB.
@pumpkinpancake I was actually looking for a way to edit the group name today, but couldn't find how to do it (on my phone app, at least) - maybe @mamabearcj can since she officially started the group?
I will try to change it!! In order to start the group as a closed group I had to add the other admins as fb friends first. I'm not sure if that will be the case to add members in a secret group or not but the four of us can figure it out for sure and get report back!
Having it closed at first allows people to join without being FB friends with an admin. We can change that if we wish. I have no problem being FB friends with anyone on here, and if you'd prefer to delete me as a friend once you've joined that's fine too!
Full disclosure, we made the group last night. We just aren't ready for people to join yet because we are still hammering out some details. Right now the name is "O18 the BMB Group". If that's not vague enough, we can change it. I believe you can change your personal privacy settings to restrict people from seeing the names of closed groups you're in.
(FYI. If you request to join before we "open" it up, your request will sit there for a bit )
O18 BMB group seems plenty vague enough for the average person. As long as the description doesn't out anything lol
Ladybug - April 2013 Dandelion - October 2018 Angel "Aurora" - July 2020 Angel "Sawyer" - May 2021 Angel "Maxine" - January 2022 Angel "Violet" - March 2022 Baby Dove due March 2023
I'm way behind on this. Been out of town, and I honestly very rarely check the board from my phone because it's super annoying. I mostly just bump at work. So Facebook to me would be way more user-friendly. So I'm in, whenever the time comes. But once I'm on maternity leave, I likely wouldn't be on a computer for a while, it'd be much easier on FB.
But also, thanks to all who are coordinating this!
Well, once we figure out how to make it a searchable group, the tentative plan is to do the following @chyvie:
-BMB users will message one of the 4 admins through the private message on The Bump to reveal their name on Facebook and receive a password. -Then the user will request permission to join the group on Facebook by giving their Bump username and the password determined by the admin they privately messaged.
Does that make sense?
Again, we haven't completed the entire process yet, but will definitely keep y'all posted for when we're ready to go live.
Re: Statistics 101 - Post Bump Facebooking
I’m super creative right now!
