  • Am I the only one that insists on bagging my own groceries even when I don’t go to the self check out? I bring my own bags and just tell the cashier that I’m happy to bag myself. They’re always usually happy they don’t have to do it, and then I get to do it my way!

@pumpkinpancake half the time I go to regular checkout they dont have a bagger and I end up bagging it myself anyways, but even doing that they dont always ring up my items the way I put them on the belt, they just randomly reach and fill a few bags and send items down to be bagged. It still gets spread out but not as bad as them doing it all..

  • None of the wegmans here use baggers so they don’t have the set up at the back of the register. They have papers and baskets at the back so if I wanted to bag myself I’d have to either do it from the side and have my bag on top of the counter (short girl problem) or I’d have to use the bagging area right in front of the cashier, which would be ridiculously awkward. That’s probably one of the only things I don’t like about wegmans.

  • YAS! on how to bag stuff! Cold stuff with cold stuff at least people!
The cashier that came and stood behind me and tried to talk while I was checking out last night, I had talked with her last time I was there. Before I could check out they had to verify I was over 18 to purchase canned air, like to dust electronics, etc. (I use it for my sewing machine). I couldn't figure out what was needing my age until she came and pointed it out, and I said 'Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that fad'. So we laughed a little and now she must think I wanna discuss the folly of kids these days, every time I come in. I just wanna buy my stuff and go home thanks. Trials of being an introvert...

Our small town grocery store must teach the baggers how to do it. they also carry it out for you or push your cart and unload the groceries into your vehicle for you.
I have a bunch of those reusable bags, but they've accumulated at home and I haven't remembered to take em for ages  :#  I really like using those, so I don't have to mess with plastic ones. My mom did a thing where she'd put our Christmas gifts in one instead of a gift bag, which was awesome, so I have a good number of them!

@jweber4747 It is a deposit because people steal the carts and use them to take their groceries home. Unfortunately we can't be trusted with carts LOL

  • It makes sense. Our local grocery store had those fun carts with the little car for kids to drive with the two seats and wheels which my son loved. Unfortunately they are no more because homeless people stole them all!
  • @pumpkinpancake Yes. I insist on bagging my own groceries and always bring my cloth bags. Don't even TRY to fuck with my system!

I cried today because I made pasta and meatballs and put a bunch of EXPIRED parmesan cheese on it. I was starving and so upset. Then the smell of the cheese almost made me puke. I ended up eating baked beans on toast because I was so hungry

It was tasty but not what I was craving! Such a waste of food too! DH ate his because he said it didn't taste bad and he didn't put too much on ans he didn't want me to think we wasted too mcmu. All I could smell was the moldy smell. Worst part is I just bought the cheese like a month ago!

I don't talk to my belly, it feels suuuuper weird to me. Well, that's not true. I complain and say "OUCH" and "STOP IT" because the somersaults and kicking gets a little aggressive at night and sometimes keeps me up. I thought the kicks were supposed to be all cute and gentle this early? I don't particularly care for the feeling like my organs are on a roller coaster.

ETA: i am thankful that I do feel something, it is quite reassuring to know she's still kicking up a storm :)
  • I can’t find if we have a discussion on baby registries?? I’m doing some fine tuning on my Amazon registry. Does anyone know if there is a way to indicate if I want more than 1 of something? I chose quantity 2 then add to registry, but when I go to my registry it always just says 0 of1 purchased.

Similarly for products with size or color options I would like to specify, but it doesn’t seem to save those selections.

anyone figure out how to do this?
  • The one thing that’s good about the glucose test is that it gives me time for bumping on my phone!  I have a lot to catch up on.

The drink they gave me wasn’t bad. Lemon lime flavor kinda like flat Sprite. I had only scrambled eggs and black tea for breakfast so hopefully that worked!
  • My H talks to my belly- it makes my heart melt. I am with a bunch of you though on mostly saying 'stop it!' when he kicks too hard. He is gonna bruise my spleen soon...
  • @rabtaido1214 I tried looking, but couldn't find one...I thought we did have one though...

anyway, that's super weird...You should be able to have more than one quantity by doing exactly what you said. I haven't run into issues with the size/color option either. UNLESS...are you trying to use the universal registry feature? You won't be able to choose size/color from external sites...I just put that info in the comments.

Also everyone should double check their registries to make sure you don't have accidental duplicates. I had 2 of the same high chair on my registry, and thought I had deleted one of them a few weeks ago. Well my mom texts me yesterday to say "hey someone bought the high chair but not off the registry so go remove it from your registry right now so no one else does". So I look, and it was still a quantity of TWO requested. GAH! I could have ended up with THREE high chairs lol. Talk about extra...
  • @jemmerjams thanks! I went on to a PC to look at my registry at work and now I see how to edit quantity and it seems to be working. I guess the app doesn’t work for that.
  • @rabtaido1214

In the app- go to your registry through the lists function.  Select the item and then click “Item Settings”.   You can adjust the requested quantity and add comments there.

When you add an item to the registry, it adds it with the size/color you selected.  You can’t actually see this information from the registry, but you can double check it by adding it to your cart, going into the cart, and clicking on the item.

Unfortunately, you can’t adjust the size/color from the registry.  You have to delete the item and then add it back with the correct details.

Welp, took the dog to the vets this am, they felt her down, checked her spine and moved her head, didnt look at her legs at all which I mentioned she'd been favoring one side I just couldn't remember which, and decided it's probably a back issue since her breed (pomeranian dachshund mix) is prone to back problems. They gave us an anti inflammatory for possible swollen disc and a muscle relaxer and said not to let her jump on and off of furniture... that's going to be the toughest part since they pretty much love/live on the couch... guess we'll try a ramp and if that doesn't work go back to a gate around the couch..

The fact that the build a bear problem was on the news is killing me! I think it was a great idea in theory but there was no preparation for this and you can tell by how many stores were closing and cutting off lines and the need for police enforcement.. imagine if this was on the weekend and more parents had the day off it would've been 10× worse I'm sure!! I love build a bear dont get me wrong, I have all the ones I've gotten/made over years or was one of DHs and I's first dates but but I dont think I'd attempt to go to that sale if they tried it again.
@purplegoldfish2 kudos to you mama!! I dont think I'd have the patience for others people, their kids, mine.. you got a hell of a deal for waiting!!
  • @purplegoldfish2 one of my coworkers who doesn’t work on Thursdays went with her kids to our build a bear, and apparently it’s  crazy here too!  Didn’t hear of any police being there yet, but it’s crazy how much of a turnout they got for this promotion! I think last I heard, she had been waiting since like 8am and hadn’t gotten in the store yet, but that was like an hour or so ago. I don’t think I could handle that line and wait with my 2 year old!
  • @purplegoldfish2 kids can also pay their age for the birthday bear during their bday month. I'm thinking about taking DS1 and DS2 next month.

We got there around 8:30/8:45 and got in the store at 12:30. Really, security messing up the line worked to our favor because I’m pretty sure they moved a large chunk of the line down and then for some reason told the people a few people in front of me to go where those people were instead of behind them. I’m sure if security hadn’t messed up we would still be in line (or more likely at home bearless).

Most people were pretty good - there were some obnoxious people, but they were obnoxious before the chaos really started so I just kept rolling my eyes at them.  A guy that worked at the kiosk we were stuck near for an hour or 2 gave me his chair to sit in & after everybody left with their vouchers and we were near the front of the line but the store wasn’t open a very nice couple held our spot in line so I could take the kids to the bathroom. Even most of the kids there were great. I couldn’t believe how well behaved mine were and everybody else’s seemed to be handling it well too.  Of course, the people with kids that weren’t probably left.

ETA: unless they drastically change the way they do it, we will probably not go to the sale if they ever have it again either. Great deal, but still 5 hours waiting for a few stuffed animals..

  • @britvahok We probably would have done that instead, but my boys wanted Star Wars bears.  If it was pay your age for any bear on your birthday, there’s no way I would have gone today.
