Random thought for anyone planning on being a pregnant bridesmaid (lol...don't)....Backstory...I ordered the dress last year, had no intention of being pregnant for the wedding, which is next weekend. Fast forward to February, surprise! Ensue frantic phone calls to dress shop to see if they can order me a couple sizes up, nope, too late, have to order extra fabric instead for more $$.
So I tried on my BM dress last night after they added extra fabric on the lining for my belly. She added enough lining in (and we didn't even end up using the extra chiffon I bought too...) to be comfortable. However....the dress I had chosen had an empire waist, which for the most part, meant it was easy to alter. But the boning in the bust is still an issue. So now we have to end up removing a portion of the boning because it's poking into the top part of my stomach which is barely rounding over, if that makes sense. I just hope between now and the 7th that I don't decide to really "pop" because it's gonna be uncomfortable. Moral of the story...pick a dress that doesn't have a lot of structure because it gets uncomfortable real quick when your skin is so sensitive and your belly is sticking out in new places.
Side note...since I am too cheap to buy a strapless bra (good luck finding a cheap one for a 32G) just for this event, I'm free-boobing it. If I was wearing a bra, they would remove all the boning, but alas....
Yeah the last time I did the pregnant bridesmaid thing I wore 4” stilettos (thinking I’m only 4 months along so it’s nbd) and it was so hot in that church and I very nearly fainted. Not great.
It should be inside the whole time, and I plan on sitting for most of the evening anyway haha. DH can go do his dance floor thing without me, he usually does anyway.
@sliztee I never use to hate bras, but now none of them are comfortable, but not wearing one isn't comfy either....I feel like the wire digs into my stomach all day and I'm sure it's just going to get worse. But wearing a wireless bra is a little scary with these girls....yikes.
I can’t wear a bra this pregnancy. Even wireless ones! Just having fabric on my boobs makes them so so itchy. And I’m still not having luck finding anything in my new size. I tried Marshall’s but I had my 3 yo with me which was a disaster. I’m trying again this weekend when my mom will be with me to help! (Ps I did take all your ladies advice and found good v-shape lace top undies - 3 for 9.99 at Marshall’s!)
@cdepperschmidt I think there can be variation between doctors on this test. My doctor only does them first thing in the AM after an overnight fast to minimize the chance of a false positive, but I know a lot of women are not told to fast at all, just no carbs

Mine said no food for 3 hours before, water is ok. I’m doing mine as early as I can in the morning. I’d rather fast than get a false positive!
@pumpkinpancake@cdepperschmidt my doc told me to fast for my 1 hr test because that way we know for sure it wasn't just something I ate. I predict a shit show, with that much sugar hitting my body on an empty stomach, plus the raging headache i will get from not eating. Bloodtest won't be until like 10 am so I'm gonna be worthless the rest of the day.
Watch me end up having zero issues with the test, with all my panicking I've been doing the last month
@HoosOnFirst you just reminded me! For anyone else looking for undies Target has a 6 pack of Gilligan & O'Malley bikinis for $9. I ordered some last night. I couldn't find the same deal in thong though.
Re:bras. I hate them. I can NOT free boob, but the underwire has now left a very large bruise across my torso. I didn't realize it had gotten that bad since I'm so uncomfortable all over. FX I have time to bra shop this weekend.
Re: Big boobs and underwire- while this doesn’t work with all cuts of bra, I have found a few styles of bra that still create a reasonably not gawd awful shape if you remove the wire. They tend to be a bit less supportive when you do, but it is still better than either no bra or a wireless bra that turns your chest into a uniboob.
Only wearing nursing sleep bras now because everything else is just too uncomfortable. I've given up on trying to hide the nipples, down with the wire!
My dr has me fast for 12 hours prior, but I can drink water. I'm nervous because I was close when I did it at 10.5 weeks (132), but both my MFM and OB said my sugars were fine. And they haven't had any concerns with sugar in my urine. I'm going 2 weeks from today...on my birthday.
@cdepperschmidt yup, they said I have to fast for at least 8 hours before the test, and then I can’t eat anything until they’re done with the 3rd blood draw 2 hours after I drink the drink. With my first I didn’t have to fast and only did the one hour test, so this is all new to me! Not happy about it!
I can't remember if I fasted with ODD or not. But I remember the drink tasted fine but still made me super nauseous. And the techs forgot I was back there and didn't come get me for my blood draw. I had to go find them!
I feel like I deserve an award or a short or something that says "I SURVIVED STREP THROAT AND A SINUS INFECTION WITHOUT ANTIBIOTICS!" although I think that would give people the wrong impression of me. For the record, I'm not against antibiotics or anything I'm just very allergic lol.

My dr said no food in the morning prior to my test and the receptionist setting it up said nothing after 530am. My appointment is at 845 when they give me the drink and go over my scan I'm having before hand then to the lab for 945. It's going to be a long morning that day
@hannaht8516 My appointment was at 2:30 a couple of weeks ago and I still ate a snack after breakfast (maybe around 10:30) and a light lunch (at noon). My snack was crackers with cheese and a banana. My lunch was turkey slices, almonds, and some cheese.
@sliztee That sounds good! Writing down so I remember for my appt in 2 weeks. I'll forget and then panic because I'll have no idea what to eat at the time. Lol
I’m glad that I don’t have to have an appt for mine, especially one late in the day! The orders have been sent to our lab, so I can just go in anytime that’s convenient for me over the next 4 weeks to get it done. Luckily I work at the hospital, so the lab is just a couple of buildings away from my office, so my plan is to go one day when the lab first opens, so that I can minimize the time that I can’t eat in the morning. I will definitely be grumpy that morning though for having to fast!
I only have to do the 1 hour at first and my OB said I don’t need to fast. However, I plan to do it first thing in the morning and have eggs instead of my usual bagel. If I eat nothing I will be hangry and get a migraine. Hoping that works!
I get to go to a hospital for mine too. I'm not going to the same place I did for my first one (at 10.5 weeks) because they don't have a table or bed in their main lab area. I had to sit in the basement in the actual lab where they process results (I have to lay down for blood work) and there was no cell signal and it was like a dungeon. I'm hoping the hospital closer to my house will be better.
Well, I got iron supplement hoping it would help with restless legs syndrome BUT it didn't. One of you suggested Magnesium. I might try that. I take the gummy prenatals and noticed no Iron. So, maybe with extra Iron & Magnesium I will sleep better tonight. Crossing my fingers.
@hellopartyof5 that’s how my OBs office did it before I moved! It was awesome! It was so nice just to drink the drink at home and then go in for my bloodwork an hour later and be done. I wish I could do that again.
I have one friend with a kid- shes 2 years older than me and has a 2 year old boy. She came over today with her son and we were hanging out, and I remembered that I was supposed to call a client like 5 hours prior. So I exclaim, loudly, in front of her son 'oh motherfucking shit!'.
He then kept saying 'shit'. Over and over and over. Luckily my friend is amazing and was like its fine, dont worry! But I feel so bad.

Same here, I have the drink already so I can drink it at 845, walk in for a 945 appointment, get the blood draw and leave!
That's crazy that some doctors don't just give you the drink to take at home. Had no idea that was a thing. That'd suck. I just tell the front desk what time I drank it so they can make sure the blood draw is done on time.
I get to drink mine at home too! Some of you might question my sanity but my midwife has an organic juice option she says works just as well (and tastes delicious supposedly) so I don’t actually have to drink the regular nasty one. I could do the regular one if I wanted to but I really don’t.
Yup, not allowed to drink it at home here. The good news is I can drop in to the lab whenever, so first thing Saturday morning it is. I’m actually looking forward to it - 2 hours of time I get to sit by myself and read.
Did any of you not hate being a pregnant bridesmaid? I’m in my sister’s wedding at 35.5 weeks! I knew about the pregnancy when I agreed to be in the wedding and tried on dresses knowing the bump would be big - and even got a style that I could wear a normal bra under. And I plan on flats... anything I’m missing? Haha.
Also not allowed to drink the drink at home, or any alternative to the drink. With my twins I at least got to go in to the lab and do it all there for the 1 hour and 3 hour. This time I have a dr appointment and they give me the drink in the office and then sent me to the lab next door. I’m sad about that because I don’t like the lab location next door and usually go to one farther away. Plus i’ll Have the kids with me, so it should be interesting.

I would change it, but it's also nice that it's on a Friday, so I can just go home after and not worry about going back to work and feeling like crap.
I passed and wasn't starving!

@kiwi2628 my husband are really going to have to work on our potty mouths. We're both terrible.
I'm getting annoyed at this website. It lags when I'm typing and randomly refreshes and loses what I typed or where I'm reading.
