@kissableviv I mean and really, how much danger is creepy neighbors going to be to a newborn? I would think there would be more danger to a toddler or kid because they’re moving around and talking and pushing boundaries. I would think you could totally get by without moving until the fall. It’s not like you’ll leave him alone or anything.
@zande2016 aw don’t beat yourself up! Kids get into so many things and can have so many bumps, bruises and rashes you can’t freak out over everything. I think you’re doing great and I’m glad you caught it early
@kissableviv smaller space for more money while you’re pregnant? I think I would try to convince him to pass for now. Maybe let him know you want to find somewhere that checks more boxes so you don’t have to turn around and move again a year down the road?
Y'all are totally in line with what I'm thinking! The safety thing is because apparently last week one of the storage units in the carport area was broken into. I say apparently because guess whose it is, the idiot neighbor who had told me about a soner leaving facility being built next door. She claims it happened during the day...I kind of freaked out that someone could even break into those cabinets, make considerable noise, and leave with stuff all in the middle of the day. Sounds strange but hey, possible. She even cane to my door to tell me in her condescending tone and talked a bunch of crap about the landlords and I seriously suggested she should leave if she hates them so much...ugh she is awful.
Our scooter is always parked under the storage cabinets with one of our cars in front of it, and there is a wall so it's not visible from the street. However, there is no gate to get to the parking lot. So people can walk up to the carports. that's honestly the biggest thing that annoys me about this place. None of this would be a problem if the landlords put a gate up. They put a gate to close off the path to the actual houses, it has a code so I feel safe in my home. It's my car and my stuff out there that I'm not so sure about anymore.
So clearly DH is over reacting and he now wants the house with the white picket fence and doesn't understand that things cost money and need planning. I'm trying to have him see the light...and I think now there is enough concern that the landlords may actually put up that freaking gate once and for all.
Congrats @carsonraynee!! Adorable! Can’t wait to hear your birth story!
I have a growth scan in a couple hours and for some reason I’m super nervous. Since my last one 4 weeks ago I feel like I’ve become too lax on my exercise for various reasons. Of course I’m still following the GD diet and my MFM has been fine with my numbers, but I’m scared they’ll tell me he’s suddenly huge and I’ll only have one more scan at 38 weeks if I make it that long. I’m also nervous about my BP, which obviously does not help the BP! I just don’t want to give them any more reasons to start pushing induction on me.
@carsonraynee A huge congratulations to you, mama! The little buddy is absolutely perfect. So glad you're all well, and hoping the NICU days are behind you soon!
Ive basically been up all night ( I slept all day though yesterday after working nights all weekend), I was tired enough to stay in bed most of the night. But now it’s 6:45 and I feel like this has been the longest day ever! Waiting on H to wake up to bring laundry downstairs so I can start it and for him to take DD to daycare.
We have to go go to the store today and currently there is no milk or cereal in the house and I’m hungry! Part of me wants to get in my car and go get doughnuts and a nice cold milk but another part is to tired.
DD starts her swim classs tonight - she will have fun as she always enjoys them. I’m secretly cursing myself for signing her up for swim and tumble at the same time because I’m literally busy everyday now since swim is Tuesday and Thursday nights. Tumble is Wednesday night. Fri/sat/sun nights I work and Monday I’m a useless zombie from working all weekend. H has his masters class m-thu 3:45-7 so I’m solo parenting those nights basically.
@carsonraynee congratulations! He is so precious! I hope you get to bring him home very soon!
@zande2016 good luck today! I’m sure if your numbers have been fine then his growth will be too. And fingers crossed for a nice and normal BP!

@carsonraynee congrats! @elizabethrod85 so much sympathy - DH only had masters lasses 1 night a week from 5-10, and thankfully DD was younger and we weren't doing activities yet. I could not be a kid shuttle right now...we also have no food (or kitchen lol) and I just haven't been up to going to the market....I'm going to try to go into the office for a bit for the first time in over a month and hit the market next door on the way home - you have motivated me - you go mama!
@carsonraynee - congratulations!!!! He is super precious and I teared up reading your birth story.
@zande2016 - good luck today! I know you don't want an induction, but maybe you would feel better making a plan for one just in case? Two different birth plans, I mean? I was VERY anti-induction with my first, but then she wouldn't come on her own and we hit the state mandated timeframe where my doctor had to induce. I spoke with my doula and came up with a birth plan that encouraged the least interventions possible and I ended up having a *very* good birth. I would be thrilled if it happened that way again actually!
Thanks everyone! Ultrasound was good, he’s weighing 5 lbs 11 oz, which at 34+4 they said is 59%. So he went up in percentile a bit from last time but they’re not concerned at all. My BP was good too!! Waiting for NST now.
@MichelleAG05 the MFM is comfortable with me being induced sometime before 39 and 40, so I’d like to give my body at least to 39+6 to do it on its own. He even said if I get to 40 and things are looking good, we can maybe wait 2-3 more days. I have spoken pretty extensively with the midwife about what we’ll do if I need induction and as long as my bishop score is good and I’m a few cm dilated they will break my water first and give me 12 hours to go into labor on my own before doing pitocon. My main goal is to avoid pit (and epi) so I am just gonna be doing alllll the things to try to get my cervix nice and soft/dilated. I had a bad induction experience with my son so I am trying to have a different experience this time.
I’m exhausted today after a long weekend. We finally got the deck finished and I’m in love with it! And I love that that is checked off the list of things to complete before baby gets here. I say “we” got it finished but really my DH did everything but I have to keep the kids occupied and out of the way which is exhausting at this point of pregnancy. And last night was the first t-ball/baseball practice for the big kids. I love watching them practice but I don’t think I can go and deal with chasing the toddler around. He just wants to play with them so badly and runs out of the dugout every 5 seconds. (DH is the assistant coach so he can't help me). I'm not up to chasing him so I'm bummed that I'm going to have to miss their practices. I'll still have to deal with him during the Saturday games though.

@carsonraynee I read your birth story and just wanted to say I’m sorry you had a tough few days attempting induction but so happy he’s doing well!! I had the foley with my son too but I was already 1cm so we never tried cervadil, just went straight to the Foley. I knew going in that I’d be getting that so I read up on it and so many women said it didn’t hurt. well idk how they got so lucky because it hurt me sooo bad!! I was squeezing my H’s hand so hard I’m surprised I didn’t break it!
I officially have or have ordered all furniture pieces for the nursery! Feels like a big weight off my shoulders! Now I can focus on details (the fun stuff!) like wall hangings, curtains, rug etc
@zande2016 I’m so glad things are looking good for you! I know you’ve had some rough times so it’s good to get some good news
Congratulations @carsonraynee what a precious healthy boy! Fx for a short boring NICU stay and a speedy recovery for mama!
@zande2016 growth scans are always stressful for me although as you know I have the opposite problem. My baby was pretty tiny last time, I think 39th percentile at 34w, but I know things can be off. I put on just a little weight and the belly is rounding up so I think he's going to a growth spurt. FX labor will come on its own for you when it's time!
At the dentist today with one of my kids. It’s her first cleaning (though she had a tooth pulled about 6 months ago). I was hoping to schedule both kids on the same day so I could sit in the quiet peaceful parents waiting room but they didn’t have appointments together so I get to come back in 2 days and do the same thing. The waiting room is awesome and my DS is currently playing what looks like Lego Harry Potter on the Xbox here, but video games make me nervous. It’s 10:30 but it feels too early for this lol.
@smashjam I love some Peppa Pig humor... there is a YouTube video out there of a call between Peppa and Suzie where Peppa is trying to learn to whistle... funny stuff
@zande2016 don't be hard on yourself! Hope he is feeling better!
So my mom and sister are hosting a sprinkle for me this weekend. I am super excited for whatever corny reason. I have been pretty sevretive this pregnancy so it will be fun to make a big fuss over it all
@zande2016 Please do not feel like your a bad mom. My son was diagnosed with Lyme disease last year when he was 14 months old. After that his liver levels skyrocketed into the 400s (normal levels are around 140) and we spent most of the summer/fall back and forth in the children's hospital. We had no idea a tick bit him and I had no idea what was wrong with him until the bulleyes rash showed up on his leg....if it would have looked like your DS's rash, I would have NEVER thought of Lyme.
My son is doing just fine now btw. Thinking of you...hopefully the antibiotics will help him feel much better very soon.
@carsonraynee I know I already posted to you but I just read your birth story and had to come back and say holy f*ucking hell, you are a SUPERHERO, lady. Another congrats and about a million props to you.
@foxbaby2016 I'm so glad your son is doing well now! I am really hoping since we caught it early the antibiotics will just knock it right out. Now that we know what he has, my H remembers seeing some little black speck on the back of his ear a couple weeks ago and just flicking it off, he had no clue it was a tick and just thought it was some fuzz. I told him the tick was probably dead and dried up and just fell right off, so it would have been too late to stop it at that point anyway. On the plus side, he LOVES taking his antibiotics, I guess they must be yummy lol.
@carsonraynee Congrats on your sweet little boy!! He's adorable and I definitely teared up reading your story!
@kissableviv your DH sounds like mine was a few months ago. Around March he got this huge urge to want to move before baby came. That our home wasn't big enough and he wanted to get out ASAP! That was about the time my nesting urge was hitting and I just waned to get our home ready for baby before I got too big and uncomfortable. (I came to the realization that his urge to move was his form of nesting) I entertained him and we went looking at houses and even put a few offers in, but being in this Northern CA housing market, none of our offers got accepted (which was sad and a relief at the same time). I had given him a time limit (which was about the time our pre-qual expired, beginning of May) and said if we don't find a place by then, we're shelving this until the fall after baby is here. He agreed and that's where we are now. Maybe if this place doesn't work out, put a timeline out there you both agree on to stop looking for a new place, which should be pretty soon with only a month left! Everything happens for a reason (which was my mantra during the whole ordeal) and kept singing that song "if it's meant to be it'll be it'll be"...haha got me through it.

Ugh. I am not feeling well today. I have a headache and I’m a little dizzy. I need to find my water bottle so I can get some more fluid in me. Good thing I’m going to the doctors in a couple minutes.
@rachelsogo thank you for the perspective! It helps to know I'm not alone with the crazy DH. And OMG California housing prices...just insane. Our friend in real estate told us they are leveling off but we are biding our time.
DH and I had a heart to heart last night and a very calm discussion (Prego lady was crying of course) and we realized after all we are on the same page. Basically he said he thinks this place we looked at is a rare find and since there was no charge to apply he wanted to have the option to entertain. I told him to look a little bit further into the future and consider babysitting/daycare expenses, plus the adjustment with a baby. Also the fact we wouldn't be focused on baby rather on moving and instead we need to focus on our newly created family. And looking at other places, we are getting such a great price here especially for a very nicely finished home.
In the end, we agreed we are safe here, and we'll be talking to the landlords about a gate. If they say no, we will invest in a couple of cameras which will come in handy whenever we buy a home anyways and at least secure our carport area however we can. We are also going to put our realtor friend on the job and see if he finds some good rentals this fall. If things were to drastically change before then, there's a very nice complex close by but in a nice area with lots of parks that always has some options available every month, and those units check all the boxes we need. So at least we have a better plan now, and we were able to have an honest talk without arguing! Win win!
If we do get approved for the unit and for some reason the dates/circumstances are favorable, we will still consider it but we won't be bummed if it doesn't work out. It was a stressful 48 hours but I'm ready to move on!
@cseley321 that's so exciting you will be getting a sprinkle! I hope it's fun !
@hillbillywife ditto with the headache and dizziness..trying to gulp down all the liquids today

I had my 36 appointment today. Confirmed thag baby is so so low hence the new horrendous pelvic pain and I am dilated to 1. Still planning on going ahead with scheduled c section since I doubt I will go early. I had to do a gbs swab just in case. Has anyone had spotting after that or cervical check? I have had some and cramping.
@kissableviv I'm glad you guys had a good talk and are on the same page. I'm probably alone in this but the other place sounded exciting being on the marina, I could envision walks with baby overlooking the water. But then I'm super impulsive. The great thing is that no matter what you guys decide it will be all good.
I just read about Kate Spade's suicide. RIP.
Obviously I don't know her and know nothing of her struggles but man hearing stuff like that really really puts things in perspective. Here is someone that seems to have it all, family, amazing career and so much wealth, yet it all amounts to nothing when you don't have your mental and emotional well being.
@lindsayleigh1989 I am going tomorrow for the same thing (36 week appointment, GBS swap, cervical check) so I will report back in let you know. However, I remember having cramping and spotting after cervical checks with DS. When is your c-section scheduled? If you go early, how will that work?

If we do get approved for the unit and for some reason the dates/circumstances are favorable, we will still consider it but we won't be bummed if it doesn't work out. It was a stressful 48 hours but I'm ready to move on!
@cseley321 that's so exciting you will be getting a sprinkle! I hope it's fun !

AMH test came back at .081. Was going to move on to IVF with DE, but have decided not to. Will be leaving it up to the universe now.
