We had an appointment with the Dr (Dr. D) we prefer at the high risk Dr yesterday and then our OB today. Dr. D was optimistic about his outcomes, actually said he’d be viable just a LOT of NICU time and all the problems associated with it. Still have AEDF, but fluids are good, he’s active, heart rate (both mine and his) are stable, brain and heart look great. I have every Dr pretty nervous because I’m adamant about not going to the hospital just yet. I’m counting kicks constantly and I have a Doppler at home I use daily in combination with the kick counts. If I feel anything different (head ache, contraction, decreased movement) I’m to go to the ER, which I’m in agreement with. Just don’t wanna be sitting in a hospital for 4 months racking up bills unnecessarily. I’m a teacher, so I’m able to veg out and do minimal things. If the flow reverses it’ll be a different story but we’re praying it doesn’t reverse for a little bit (at least not until after 28 weeks...which isn’t too far as I’m nearing 25 weeks). I got a steroid shot today at the hospital and I have an appt for another tomorrow. They’ll repeat this again if I make it to 32 weeks (32-34 weeks would obviously be my goal). My OB seems to agree with me that I should make it to at least 28 weeks, and at the hospital all the nurses kept commenting how active he was in utero so these are all positive signs. Thank you guys for the positive thoughts and prayers, please keep them coming. It’s been really helpful for me to have the support system on here. I’m still checking other threads regularly, though not commenting as much because I know my situation is different from most now (which is GREAT! So happy everyone else is getting to actually enjoy the stages of pregnancy)
@princessandthegator I'm glad to hear he is so active and looking good other than the umbilical cord issue. I hope he stays in there for as long as possible. Glad you are monitoring and taking it easy

@princessandthegator I’m glad to hear you appointment was positive! Do they not expect you to go full term? Do they deliver early because of the condition?

Yeah, apparently with the condition women don’t go full term (I also have placenta previa and it looks like full pp...because that’s how this pregnancy has gone...and I won’t be able to go full term with that either). Some women will have it for months, others only weeks before it reverses. I’m praying that I’m a miracle case where I got to 36, that would be amazing. But none of the Dr’s are expecting that to happen.
I know I shouldn’t but reading threads online has really helped me. Most moms give birth to babes who catch up completely developmentally by 2, it’s helped me stay pretty positive.

Whatever keeps you going strong momma!! I think it's better to read up and be prepared for anything
So relieved your Dr. is feeling optimistic now. What a strong little guy you’ve got. Can’t wait to “meet” him when he makes his appearance (in many more weeks!) since we are all so emotionally along in the ride with you guys.
Glad to hear things are looking so optimistic! I have experience with having a micro-preemie with DS1, he’s 7 and totally on par with his peer group. But hoping your little one stays put for a long time yet!
Go glad to hear this news! Also I want to give you huge props for standing up for your rights. It is very very hard to stand up to doctors and let your voice be heard, so great job on that. You are already an amazing mama!

Ive been a bit absent these last two weeks but I am got on today because I was thinking about you and baby. I am so happy to read that things sound positive and praying that he stays put for as long as possible. Sending all the positive vibes your way!
ETA: hope that doesn't come across to creepy! Either way again I am so happy for you and praying for a positive outcome.
Update ladies: I’m on my 2nd day in the hospital. Yesterday they found my umbilical cord flow was reversed. This morning we had another BPP (he passed well) and the cord is still reversed, they’re basically holding out until he goes into distress. I just finished my 24 hr magnesium drip (It’s the absolute worst) and we’re just playing the waiting game.
@princessandthegator I'm so sorry things aren't ideal right now but glad to hear it sounds like you're under great care and observation. And exciting that he passed his BPP well! Thinking of you guys and will keep you in our prayers!
