  • @SmashJam good luck with the job hunt! I can still do a half decent job on my legs but that may not last long.

I received the stroller last night and put it together with the bassinet, DH got emotional when he saw it. Now I get excited about strollers, lol. How things change!

I am overwhelmed with all of the change happening this summer. I found out yesterday that they are changing the structure of my job at work and I will be reporting to a new VP as of this Summer.  I LOVE my current bosses and my department and I am so sad for what this means to my job.  It doesn't help anything that I am hormonal, emotional, and sleep deprived at 34 weeks pregnant.  My son has his preschool graduation on Thursday and I am seriously concerned that I am going to be a hot sobbing mess.

  • I asked my hubby to help me trim up before going for a brazillian the other day and he refused (rude!!).  I tried to do it by feel and ended up cutting myself....  So I'm coughing up the money for regular waxes from the waist down until I can see my feet again... Do not want to be a Sasquatch all summer.

Add me to the miserable/over it group... this weekend I was just so sore everywhere.  These last 8 weeks are going to be looong!  and I have to go back to work next week after my doctor giving me 3 weeks off to rest due to my anemia. So not looking forward to it (insert sad face here).
  • @SmashJam FX for you on the job hunt! And sorry your DS wasn’t having sleep last night and has been emotional this morning. I walked in the door last night at 2:30am after driving for 6 hours and my DD started crying as soon as I walked inside. I wanted to pass out and die lol. Hopefully the low key day will be good for you both! It’s raining here in PA so we’re inside today too.

@wildtot I’m so sorry! I hate days like that. Sounds like a romantic movie and ice cream kind of evening  ;) I hope that the day gets better!

@kissableviv isn’t it weird how the the list of things that excites you changes as your life changes? We got a new washer and dryer in the fall and it seriously made me so excited! Baby stuff is even better! I’m planning a trip to target to finish up buying the things I need and everything is seeming so real these days!

We we got new neighbors about a year ago and don’t know much about them. Found out through the grapevine that the husband is a CHIROPRACTOR! I feel like I need to be more friendly with him and do some googling. Is it too late to start going to a chiropractor?
  • Y'all, I feel like this kid is coming soon. So much pressure (front and back :/ ) and still having contractions, which are getting a bit more uncomfortable. Little dude still looks great on NST (having those twice weekly). I was just at the OB and talked myself out of asking him to check my cervix, in part bc I've had no spotting. However, I just talked to my sister and she had zero spotting or discharge with any of her 4 kids before labor. Soooo, now I wish I had asked! I do know my OB is on call tomorrow and I see the MFM on Thursday for a growth scan but wish I knew more today. The OB also mentioned steroids if it looked like I was going to deliver before 36 weeks. Also need to line up a caregiver for our dog, finish packing my hospital bag, and pack a bag for DD to stay with friends while we're in the hospital.... I'm not ready!!! :scream:
  • @TalesOfASocialIntrovert it’s so freaky knowing that babies could decide to come any minute. I hope your little dude stays put for a while so you don’t have to deal with all the stress!

I had several timeable contractions yesterday and I felt crampy and yucky all day. I’m def not ready for a baby yet either
  • @TalesOfASocialIntrovert I think any prep you can do now may help ease your fears a bit just knowing you are prepared until you can find out for sure at your next appointment :) You have me in a panic now though haha realizing I have an insane amount of things to do! haha

  • @hillbillywife I don't think it's too late for a chiro! Actually this may be the best time! I say go if you can, you won't regret it. So exciting to go shopping for all those last things!
@TalesOfASocialIntrovert good luck with the monitoring! I'm starting to think this kid may be late. I know being on the smallish side doesn't matter much but I'm getting so curious about meeting him at this point and I just hope there aren't too many surprises!

  • @hillbillywife never to late to start seeing a chiropractor. I didn't start going until the last 6 weeks of my first pregnancy :)

  • @TalesOfASocialIntrovert I don't know if this is your thing but have you checked your own cervix? I didn't monitor  cervical position  when ttc my first two, but I did for this lo and have definitely checked recently just so as we get closer I might notice a change. I know my midwife said she herself couldn't even GET to my cervix it was so high with my last two, even at 41 weeks +, and that's what I'm experiencing now. I'm not doing it all the time jist that once and will another time when I'm closer because of that whole risk of infection or whatever but if you are comfortable it's an option?
  • @SmashJam At this stage in pregnancy and with how low in my pelvis this kid is, I just can't reach :( I totally would otherwise! With pregnancy for DD, I was charting and checking my cervix daily so it's something I'm pretty familiar with.
  • This baby movement thing is so stressful. Baby boy was active this am and did a couple of hours of 10.kicks and now he's quiet. Ate and drank.sweet stuff and laid on my side and nothing. I'm lounging on the couch and he is moving more now but today he feels lower so movements are somewhat different. Like he is full on head down and deep, and I can't feel as much because I also ate a bigger lunch. Ugh. This is so annoying! Everytime I try not to stress I get back to this point.
  • LOL.  I asked DH to help me shave and he would not.  So rude!  I think he's afraid to cut me accidentally while doing it, but still!

Found out baby boy is in breech and I'm trying all the different things online to turn him naturally.  I can't tell if it's working!  He was head down at 28 weeks and I thought he was still in the same position.  I swore I could feel his little butt and legs for the past five weeks, but at our last US, he was flipped around!  They brought up aversion and I'm trying my best to coach this kiddo to flip before we have to make a decision.
  • @julybabybear have you looked into seeing a chiropractor who performs the Webster technique? Also I’m sure you came across it but spinning babies has exercises you can do. I’ve also heard of accupuncture for it. I don’t know how far along you are but you probably still have plenty of time for baby to turn on their own.
  • My husband was all for helping me trim and shave last pregnancy, I haven’t gotten to the point of asking him yet this time but I might have to later this week since we are going to a water park this weekend and I’ll be forced to wear a bathing suit.
  • DH said he would totally help if I wanted him too, but I don't think I will ask him.  @TalesOfASocialIntrovert I had quite a hard time but I'm high up so I can imagine if he was lower how difficult that would be!

@wildtot haha my H is the exact same way. He’d be so excited to help me.

Back to my random- found out my neighbor’s practice is kinda far away so it wouldn’t be worth it to go to him. BUT I think I might still look into it. Anything to help this pelvis.

    ETA- “it” referring to chiropractic.

@hillbillywife i started going to the chiropractor three weeks ago and I’ve gotten some relief. I’ve had some bad days but I sleep way better at night without the pain. Worth it!

well DH let DS run around naked in the house and i found some graffiti on the side of couch. I really should start preparing myself for a pee and poop filled weekend but it hasn’t sunk the mess I’m gonna be cleaning.
  • I am jealous of you ladies that have a spouse that is willing to help down there haha. I don't trust mine at all to not chop up my lady bits haha so mirror and stretching it is haha

We are starting to paint the nursery and dd's new room tomorrow. I had the worst time trying to decide on colors ugh but I think they will be okay.
    April Siggy Challenge Social Distancing

  • @lindsayleigh1989 what colors did you decide on?

DS is awake. he's been awake for roughly 15 minutes, so I am trying to wait til 6 to get him up. He did get up to go pee, so that's good! I heard him run across the room to the potty then heard the lid slam. DH, every the optimist said, "He didn't get up to pee. I bet he just got up to run across the room and slam the potty lid." Either way, early day for me! Yay...
  • @smashjam that would be pretty funny if he really did get up just to slam the lid, that is such a toddler thing to do. Mine was up early too, starting at 5, but since he's still in a crib I refuse to get him until 6. So he just whined on and off for an hour.

The exhaustion and getting up in the morning is becoming unbearable. Thank god I now have two weekdays where I get to sleep in a tiny bit thanks to working from home, but it's not much, like an extra 20-30 minutes. On a happy note, yesterday we received a $700 debit card from T Mobile as a rebate for phones we got a few months ago. I totally forgot about it, so it was a nice surprise. Resisting the urge to go spend it on a weekend spa getaway by myself lol. Going to be responsible and use it for baby stuff and groceries or something. Adulting sucks.
  • @julybabybear breech here too! Check out the spinning babies website if you haven’t already, there’s lots of ways to help coax baby into the right position. A friend of mine had a successful version with her first but she said it was very uncomfortable- but I’d take a version over a possible c-section any day.

    @wildtot I hope you don’t mean pee graffiti  :'(:s

  • @lindsayleigh1989 I’m curious which colors you chose as well! :)

@wildtot is “graffiti” what I think it is ?  :#

Had some migraines last week and when I went to the OB Friday my blood pressure was higher than normal for me and there was some protein in my urine. They decided to send me for blood work and have me come back yesterday. Well bloodwork was good and my blood pressure is back down! Whew I was definitely panicking a little but am super appreciative that they wanted to be cautious.
  • Glad all is looking good @ashbub714!

I've officially moved up to 2 Nexiums a day.  Every little thing I eat now makes my acid reflux flare up - guess that and the rib pain mean baby boy is big enough that he's all up there too.  He's luckily head down, because there's really not a ton of room for him.  I think I mentioned before - my torso is so short that I only have about 1-2" between my bottom rib and my hip bone!
  • wildtotwildtot member
@ashbub714 @acunamatada lol yeah pee graffiti didn’t notice it till maybe 20 mins later.
  • I'm gonna start being consistent with the spinning babies exercises, I know this babe still has a ton of room unfortunately!
@ashbub714 so glad everything is back to normal! Always good to know you're being carefully monitored.

I'm turning myself crazy over how to best use all the coupons and completion discounts. I'm dumb and missed out on $500 worth of stuff to buy at 15% off because I didn't realize that Amazon wanted no more than 2 transactions. Bummer! So I moved some stuff over to Target and Buy Buy Baby. Anyone knows if you can use one of their coupons on top of the completion discount?

Funnily enough one of our friends who couldn't make it to the shower found our Target registry which I created like in January at random just for the welcome box and she bought us a $100 monitor , which we already have. So I'm treating myself to shopping trip today, and will use two gift cards that I got when buyobu a gift for another baby shower as well.

Yup, I'm officially in mom mode with all the coupons!

I think I need to start napping when DD naps. I just put the last coat of paint on the nursery dresser (still needs a coat of wax) but DD is awake now and I'm exhausted! Her naps are progressively getting shorter so I feel like I run a marathon to accomplish things while she's sleeping since I know the time is short :/

ETA @kissableviv BBB's website says their monthly coupons can't be combined with other discounts, price match, or special offers so I would assume that includes the completion discount. I have yet to find a coupon or discount that can be stacked as their store. I've also found that price matching (usually to Amazon) gives the best price for BBB.
  • @kissableviv My experience with my first was that BBB matched Amazon's completion discount (15% instead of 10%), and would also allow me to use as many 20% off coupons as I had with me.  But they would not stack them, and they would not allow a 20% off coupon on top of a price match.  I can't remember if I got the 15% discount on top of a price match - honestly, I think I gave up on matching prices when completing our registry purchases. This time I made a spreadsheet and am tracking which places things are cheaper to utilize all my completions, but totally forgot about the $300 in BBB gift cards I have and already spent over $700 there.  Oops!
  • @MichelleAG05 Creating a spreadsheet is a good idea. I still have lots to buy with a tight budget..... thanks for the tip!
  • @runsomewhere well said! I completely agree with you. People are always in such a rush they’re only thinking of themselves and don’t stop to think of what others may be going through.
  • @runsomewhere that’s awful. Those grouchy people definitely wouldn’t want to be rushed through their appointment if THEY were the ones getting bad news. Having perspective is a skill that not everyone has. So sad for those moms and dads today.

@kissableviv I went to target today to use my discount and not only did I use that one, I also got a discount for bringing my own bag and a 20% off cloud island coupon. So I guess you can use multiple coupons there lol. have fun shopping!!

  • Agreed @runsomewhere! Glad everything looks good for you!  I seriously was just thinking the same thing though - at my 31 week ultrasound they said BB was 3 lb 14 oz and around 45%.  But Bump says 2.5 to 3.8 lbs. Obviously something is off!
  • @runsomewhere While I agree that it was totally tackedless of that woman to throw a fit in what sounds like the waiting room, I can relate to the irritation of long waits if it's the norm. I obviously can't say that's the case for that office but my MFM is constantly running 30-60 minutes behind....like, at every appt this pregnancy and the last. And while I can appreciate that they potentially discover more serious issues than a "regular" OB office, I'd appreciate my MFM in particular expecting most appts to run longer (since most must since they're always so behind) so that I'm not spending 3 hours in their office. Again, not excusing that womans behavior though! Hopefully she was just getting an NST like you said and not anxiously awaiting difficult news as well.
  • @TalesOfASocialIntrovert that’s a good point too. I think there’s a tactful way to be upset about wait times. Making a scene is never the good way lol
  • I agree that throwing a fit is ridiculous, but it’s also kind of ridiculous for a medical office to routinely be running 60 mins behind schedule. Emergencies come up in OB, so to me it’s a difference between an occasional really long wait due to urgent issues, which I’d be fine with vs waiting an hour at every appointment, which I would complain about (quietly, without throwing a fit). That hour wait is part of why I left my old OB, I’d make first thing in the morning appointments specifically to avoid long waits, and still I’d wait 30-60 mins every single time. Clearly that’s an issue of overbooking.
  • The woman was waiting for her anatomy scan. Like I mentioned, despite the office being super busy they do very well with wait times.

That's based on my observation of going there for the NT, anatomy, monthly growth scans then NSTs/weekly scans after 34 weeks with my prior pregnancy and following a similar schedule with this pregnancy, so I am there a lot.

I will add that they fit me in same day for an amnio when I got some bad blood work results for which I was so grateful but it may have also caused a delay for others.
