    @J1006 Yay!!! Great news! FX for more good news tomorrow!

    @bebesparrow Welcome!! We are happy to have you with us! Hopefully, AF comes very soon for you! I know after my last FET, it came within 4 days after the hormone crash. Maybe you'll get as lucky :) Natural cycle sounds wonderful! I'm excited to stop my PIO next week so hopefully my butt bruise can heal! lol

    @kristimh80 Zika has put a damper on my travel plans for the last three years. I love traveling and want to visit so many places but I’ve had to say no to invitations to Mexico, Brazil, and Peru. I try to find other places that are Zika free so we’ve been to Europe and Hawaii. This summer will be Alaska. I totally hear you and it sucks to feel like you’re putting your life on hold, but you can still try to find other ways to compensate for having to miss out on stuff. I just know how excited you are to move forward and I can certainly imagine how an additional 6-8 months can impact that.

    The CDC has a good website on Zika updates. Miami is safe again (went in March). Also places in Mexico above a certain altitude don’t have the problem mosquitos. Can you and DH plan some other vaycay? Or can you plan to celebrate with your friends getting married in their home location?

    I know it’s a tough choice. Def do some research and consult with the necessary parties.

    @northbeach3 You're so right! Luckily, after the bachelor weekend...DH is very ok with not going! His buddies were a little wilder than him so solved that issue! lol We are hoping after this IF journey is in the next season...we can baby moon in Hawaii, but if too far along....it maybe going to a mountains with no heat! lol Thanks for the reply and making me feel better! Good to know Miami is safe again...both our BFF's live there and the only reason we've been hesitant to visit. I heard the Cayman Island were safe now too, so need to look into that as another option. Alaska sounds like such a fun trip for you!!!

    @Kristimh80 I have no advice on the zika but I feel you on the frustration.  It's great to hear DH is on the same page.

    @j1006 glad you were able to get your BW in last week and the results are coming back favorable so far.

    @alexandrabarros welcome to the board.

    @drove2u that's so nice that you were able to meet up in real life with IVF friends.  I used to be very active on boxer dog forums when I first got into the breed and have been lucky enough to meet several of those on-line friends.  I love how people can bond so much before ever really meeting.
    As far as next steps.  I'm guessing the doc will put me back on estrac after I start my next cycle - to control timing - and then we'll do an FET after the start of the next cycle.  They do everything in batches at my clinic, so after I start my next cycle naturally he'll get me into sync with their schedules.  I'm wondering if he'll want to do another sono or hysteroscopy to check everything out after the loss.
    We had considered doing another egg retrieval before an FET, but financially it's better for us to wait and do the FET first.

    @bebesparrow welcome to the board.  Hope AF shows up soon for you so you can get moving forward.

    AFM: the weekend was not a fun one.  The strawberry festival was nice - deep fried strawberries are amazing!  But after that DH's sinus infection he's been battling for a week intensified (because he didn't go to the doctor Thursday like he should have).  We made a last minute trip to Kroger's Little clinic Saturday for an antibiotic, but too little to late.  By midnight the pain was so bad he went to the ER - they gave him prednisone which seemed to help.  Then Sunday what we think is a Nasal Polyp popper out and started bleeding everywhere (all very gross).  He's getting in today to an ear nose & throat specialist but I suspect some sort of surgery is in the near future....but hey that get us to our out-of-pocket max for insurance for the year.  And this distracted my from infertility for the weekend so that's a silver lining.  He's pretty pitiful though and I feel bad for him and hate that there's nothing I can do to make it better.

    @kristimh80 we went to Cabo in January and I didn't see ONE bug. I brought deet and lathered in it every morning. granted, we were a few months away from starting IVF, but I felt comfortable going. I totally understand not wanting to put things on hold, but do whatever feels best to you!

    @Drove2u Hurdles are Saline Sono (today) then the lining (which I have trouble with) then possible autoimmune issue.  *TW I had a mc with my only pgs normal from last cycle and I have gotten a couple of positive ANA tests (general autoimmune flag) and all further testing came up with no answers. end TW*
    @bebesparrow Hello and welcome.  I hope you will find these boards a great source of support and information. I wish I could do a natural cycle! Sounds sooo much better than PIO or suppositories. How many blasts do you have?
    @northbeach3 Thanks for the info about Miami.  I have been avoiding going there and I have family there so good to know.  I guess I should look into where is safe.  I really want to travel again but have been avoiding due to zika and the unpredictability of cycling and dr appointments.
    @ChristenMA83 Sorry about your husband and your weekend.  I have never hit my out of pocket max before but I think this might be my year too. Yikes!

    Hi ladies,
    Hope it's ok I join you over here. I just finished my first IVF cycle and found out today that fresh transfer beta was neg :( So not having a good day to say the least. Moving right toward an FET cycle, so assuming early July. I was told to stop estrace & PIO and give a call with day 1 to start BCP, and will be having a follow up appointment with my RE next week. Question for those of you that have been in similar situations (failed fresh moving right to a FET): how long did it take for your period to come? How long were you on BCP (for IVF cycle it was 2 weeks minimum, not sure if it's the same)? I asked my nurse these questions and she said "that's what your appointment next week is for." Gee, thanks. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

    @kristimh80 GL at the ERA tomorrow. I'm really anxious to hear how it goes!

    @bebesparrow welcome! hopefully AF shows up quickly. mine came immediately after stopping my progesterone suppositories but I'm not sure how common that is.

    @ChristenMA83 I can't believe that happened. Yay for IF distractions!!

    @leilee101 My clinic says the same thing about waiting for protocol timing until our WTF appointment with the doctor. Mine won't even schedule the WTF appointment until beta #s are negative  :s Hopefully you can get that appointment scheduled quickly!

    AFM, I had my 5th Beta this morning and am waiting/hoping for a negative. I am thinking today's the day. We'll get our appointment scheduled ASAP. H is out of town most of the week for work so FX that early next week will work. I'm ready to get right into FET!

    PS - Can this ad with a mom and baby stop popping up? It def needs a TW

    @leilee101 i'm so sorry to hear the fresh transfer didn't work.  i haven't gone straight into next cycle, but i heard a range of 4-6 days after stopping PIO/suppositories before AF.  my clinic also likes to "sync" all ladies doing transfers, so i'm usually on BCP for a bit.  hoping you can move into your next cycle sooner rather than later!

    @bebesparrow Welcome to the board. I've only had one FET so far and AF came 5 days after stopping the PIO. Natural cycle sounds great and I will be asking for that too, but not sure whether my RE will agree since I'm in a shared risk program.
    @ChristenMA83 Sorry for your weekend. Hope your husband is feeling better and you guys can relax.
    @leilee101 Welcome and so sorry for your failed fresh transfer. I've had two failed fresh transfers. The first one was CP and I started bleeding at about a week after a 6d transfer. The second one I got AF at about 12 dp 6d transfer while still on the progesterone suppositories and estrace.

    @kristimh80 good luck today!

    AFM: DH definitely has nasal polyps and had to get a CT scan yesterday to see how bad they are.  He'll get those results and an action plan Friday.  He is starting to feel better from the meds though so that makes life much easier.  Friday will be a big doctor day for us between his ear nose & throat doc and our follow up with the RE.

    @kristimh80 GL today!

    My beta was 5.4 yesterday but my doctor wants me to repeat in a week and then schedule our WTF appointment. I missed the call - ugh, but called back and left a message asking why! I was under the impression that anything below 6 was negative and we would be able to move forward. The nurse is going to check on that today and get back to me. Even if I have to repeat the beta next week, fine, but I want to get that appointment scheduled so we can get a plan and move on. At this rate I'm going to be on the August FET board  :#

    @Drove2u It's the follow up consult after a cycle doesn't work. Like, WTF happened here!

    @ChristenMA83 AF started immediately after I stopped progesterone suppositories last week.

    @kristimh80 We'll all be anxiously waiting to hear what they say. I think the ERA is so interesting!

    Push a little bit and you get what you want, I guess. The clinic called and said that they will at least schedule the appointment but still need to do one more blood draw next Monday. More waiting...

    Hey everyone, I finally feel like I can jump in here (yay!). I've read all the posts so think I'm caught up. I don't have a FET calendar yet since I'm waiting for AF but I'm CD23 so hopefully in the next week or so I can call my clinic and get one - but I feel pretty sure it will be in July. So after 5 IVF rounds this will be my first transfer, never made it this far before so kind of nervous and trying to stay hopeful (you can see my spoiler for the details). There is no more IVF in my future so this is it, a lot riding on this. I'm so glad for this group and for being able to give and get support during all this!

    I also wanted to add in on the Zika thing, we love travel too and it's been a pain to have to schedule around it! My last ER was 2/1 but because we had a prebooked cruise to Zika territory (Mexico) our RE said go on the cruise and then we will do the transfer. They didn't want to touch me for a transfer before then and made us wait at least 8 weeks before transfer which brings us to July. I work in public health and the effects of Zika are awful!

    @kristimh80 hope your ERA today went well!

    @Momifbysea YAY!! So glad you finally decided to join us over here! It's a little more active than the TTCA35 board :smiley: Thanks for adding your Zika insight! I've already been searching "what if" vacations if things do work out. For now, it keeps my mind occupied and in a good place.

    Hi again! Just wanted to update you guys now that I have a better sense of timing. I started BC on June 3rd and will be on it until June 24th. I then start estrace by itself until July 7th and then add the progesterone shots. My FET is currently scheduled for July 13th. Totally freaking out about how soon it will be!

    @Momifbysea Good to see you over here  :) Welcome!!  I’m on CD 24 so hopefully I’ll be getting AF this weekend and can get started!

    @lizy181 Yay for getting dates! Let the count down begin!

    @ndz2018 I love that we're only one day apart! My trip to NY may screw up FET date though. The clinic nurse assured me that they can work around my schedule but does anyone know how that works? They said they take control of my cycle but if the lining check ultrasound is around 14 days in, I'm not understanding how they can really mess with that? Unless they would put me on a little more BCP to delay FET until I'm back from my trip though? I'm gone a whole week...hmm. Trying not to stress.

    @Momifbysea How long will you be in NY for? They pretty much control your cycle with the estrogen.... if your only going for a few days it shouldnt be a huge deal.
  • Options
    @Momifbysea Yes, they can put you on BCP to control your FET cycle. That's what I'm going to have done if AF decides to come a little earlier than my normal time due to hormonal crash.

    Thanks everyone for the warm welcome :blush: Also, sorry for duplicating questions, I'm all caught up on the thread now so have a good idea where everyone's at and questions I might have that have already been addressed!

    @madasm0530 Glad you got to at least schedule an appointment, my clinic requires beta under 5 strictly to submit for insurance authorization.
    @Kristinmh11 glad the ERA is complete! I'm just learning what that is, and wondering if it's something I should bring up with my RE next week when we meet. Can you share why it was recommended for you?
    @Momifbysea Hi and welcome! 5 IVF cycles yowza.. you must be so ready for a transfer at this point! Hope you're a one and done kind of lady.
    @lizy181 that's awesome that you've gotten a timeline! Makes it so real

    Has anyone used assisted hatching or know much about it? I want to be informed AF when I meet with my RE next weds, I'm definitely going to ask him about transferring two (we only have 2 frozen, non PGS tested), assisted hatching, if he thinks an ERA might be warranted yet (I've had one CP from IUI and now this BFN from IVF)....

    @leilee101 I actually asked for it after my last FET failed. We only have 1 embryo left so I wanted to be 100% certain the timing, etc for next FET was correct. For me, it is a peace of mind to know if the last failure was a fluke or something else is going on. My embryos were all PGS tested so I know there weren't any abnormalities going on. Lots of doctors won't suggest an ERA unless you have multiple failures, but it's worth looking into for sure. Just know it'll back you FET up a month.

    @Momifbysea if your lining check is at CD14, then you'll add PIO for about 5 days before they transfer.  If you're travelling then, they'll probably keep you on the estrogen and tell you to wait to add PIO until it times with a 5dt.  I think I have seen that many docs like to transfer around CD21.  At my lining check, it wasn't as thick as the RE wanted so we do estrogen for a few more days and then added PIO... my transfer date was moved from CD21 to CD23.  he said it didn't matter since they were in control of the hormones.

    hope that helps! best of luck and enjoy your trip!

    @kristimh80 glad ERA is done! FX to favorable results.

    @lizy181 that is great news!!

    Travelers: My nurse confirmed that Florida is considered safe now as well as the Bahamas. The paperwork they make me sign about Zika says 8 week delay for potential Zika exposure for women. 6 months for men.

    @kristimh80 It's good you did it for peace of mind.  I did ERA last cycle and it showed I did need 24 hr more time and got a BFP with that cycle.
    @Momifbysea Agree with what everyone else is saying. Don't stress.  They can control the cycle.  Once you start progesterone the timing has to be exact but before that they can extend it.
    @Drove2u Good luck with the hysteroscopy.
    @madasm0530 Ugh!  I want to punch that ad in the face.  Thanks whoever is selling ad space here!

    @northbeach3, yes we will be traveling from CD11-19 (big if) IF AF decides to come on time. So getting the CD14 ultrasound would also be an issue.
    Question from a newbie (sorry for all these!) but given my situation, I’ll soon be 44, it took five IVF cycles to get 2 eggs to freeze, I’m wondering if ERA is justified for me? Only because I just have these two chances. Thoughts? I’m worried with my luck I’ll be in the 25% that need slightly different timing.

    @Drove2u thinking of you with the hysteroscopy, good luck and hoping for good results!

    @kristimh80 what is your wait time until you get results?

    @susiev3 glad to hear Bahamas is now safe because we love cruises and have had to stay away for awhile during all our IVF (except this one recent trip in between ER and FET).
