July 2018 FET

Wanted to get this thread going, even if a little early! I know of a few girls gearing up for July transfers already. Thought would be a great to get to know others before the craziness began! <3

AFM: In the middle of a ERA cycle, which procedure should fall around June 5th, then hopefully will have a real date not long after for July. If everything stays on schedule, FET will be 1st week of July it's looking like.

@kristimh80 I’m tentatively thinking mine will be 7/3/18 as long as my AF cooperates and shows up around 6/10 (ish)!  It’s been a hell of a hold up on my end but I’m looking forward to doing our FET in early July!

Hi girls!! Joining on here too. I started a July Ivf group so will pretty much copy and paste from there my history with infertility.

I’m back on the boards TW: I got pregnant naturally about three maybe four years ago years ago now on the first try which resulted in a CP. we tried for another year and a half with no luck. We then attempted six iuis which one resulted in an ectopic but luckily they caught it on time. After six iuis we went on to IVF and got pregnant with my daughter who is now 16 months. so we’re trying for our second now. END TW

I returned to my clinic last week and now that we have four frozen embryos we’re looking for a July transfer. I have my hysteroscopy scheduled for June and now just waiting for my period to come to go for a baseline. I’m really hoping we will continue with all of this. Not sure about the financials yet andthis will be discussed on Monday. Just really want insurance to cover this otherwise we’re out and not going to proceed.
Glad to be part of this group and hope I still will be after tomorrow! Ha!

I’m hoping to make it in to this group with a transfer at the end of July.  As long as my protocol is is the same as my last FET and my cycle behaves itself :)  A lot of things are up in the air right now but I will be pushing for this FET to be ASAP.

Hello again @kristimh80 and @ndz2018. I wish I didn’t see you but happy to see a familiar name around again.
  • Drove2uDrove2u member
@j1006 I hear you. Things are up in the air for me too right now. When will you find out?
  • @Drove2u Glad you joined us here! I saw your original post and thought this maybe a a better fit since you've already done a retrieval and usually the IVF groups are for that side of things :)

@J1006 FX you make July transfer happen! How long in-between are they wanting you to wait? Are you having more testing done before then? I'm sure you've told me, but I'm scatter brained this morning!

@ndz2018 I figure...what's one more thread to be involved in? LOL Hopefully, some of the "lurkers" will join in earlier this way :)

@kristimh80 lol you’re totally right. I’ve been out of the game for a little while now and forgot. I wonder if there’s a way to delete my originally post?

Im waiting for AF to show still and really hoping it comes soon like today or tomorrow so I don’t have to do a baseline this weekend. We’re going away so that just won’t work. I know I should’ve asked the doc but I didn’t think of it. I’m just confused why transfer for me would be July 4 but baseline would be potentially this week. Wouldn’t my transfer be in June then?
  • J1006J1006 member
@kristimh80 My Doctor saw something on my SHG this week so she wants to do a hysteroscopy to see what it is. They only do them on days 4-10 of your cycle at my office so I have to wait until next cycle. My nurse mentioned that they may start me on BCP on day 5 if we have to schedule it outside of that window. I think I’m going to ask and see if I can just be on BCP whether it’s in that window or not since they always put me on it for FET anyway. That way I don’t have to wait another cycle.

@Drove2u My FET cycle took about two months.  My RE has be on BCP first (about a month) then everything to suppress my ovaries and prep my lining. Maybe your RE is similar?
  • @J1006 That’s right! I knew that!! That’s a great idea to go ahead and ask anyways. Nothing else, sometimes BC will induce your cycle if they want you off it until right before. Sounds like could be a win / win either way

@J1006 Hey! It sucks we’re here...Wish we didn’t have to be here either. When is your next AF due? And I hope that it all works out with the BCP!!

@kristimh80  I was just thinking ...where is the July FET  :D

@Drove2u Hey!! Welcome to the July FET and congrats on your daughter and 4 frozen embryos! Did you do PGS testing in them too? We did our ER in Dec out of 29R , 21 of them fertilized and 12 made it to day 5. We did PGS testing and gave  5 embryos waiting for us to take them home( 1boy and 4 girls) and 3 mosaics that they don’t recommend for transfer yet they’re keeping them frozen.. who knows maybe we’ll retest them in the future.
  • Drove2uDrove2u member
@j1006 that’s a good idea to ask about the bcp. And yes I wonder if that’s what my doc wants me to do too. For the first cycle that was successful he told me he wants to put me on bcp and I asked him if I really need to be on it and he said no. We can go ahead without it. But since this is a FET I wonder if now I need to be on it.

@nzd2018 wow!! You got some nice results there. Do you know what you will be transferring?
We did not do PGS testing. All four embryos are pretty good quality. It would’ve cost us $5000 and since we have unexplained infertility we just took that risk.

Still waiting for AF to come. Was expecting it today. Pms’ing so bad so hoping it’ll come soon!! Lol
  • @Drove2u FX your AF gets here soon!! I haven't used BCP for FET's. It's never been in my protocol, besides for retrieval time. I was under the impression that estrogen keeps your ovaries quiet so don't really need it. But my office does do progesterone blood drawls around CD 14 at lining check and checks ovaries...so maybe have something to do with it :)

Yeah PGS package was all OOP for us , ran us about $5500 after all was said and done. We paid before the ER for 10 embryos to be tested BUT since we had 12 make it those two extras were a few hundred dollars. I’m also 37 so our chances of having some of them  chromosomally abnormal is a little higher and we just didn’t want to chance it. And yes we will be transferring the boy!! We had many discussions about a son so since we know we said, why not! Plus we feel more comfortable with an older brother with all those girls :D:D  Just hope he takes since our only male( unless one of our mosaics are a male but I never Asked) and if not they’ll be a lot of pink in our future lol
  • Drove2uDrove2u member
@nzd2018 I'm also 37. My embryos are from when I was 35. We're thinking of just having one more and then we will be done. Also paying $800 a year for storage fees which in a way is not too bad but I don't want to be paying for that for years when we're done with our family. I figured if we really wanted a third, we could try naturally and if it happens it happens. If not, then that would be ok too! But I really don't think I want 3. lol. That's great that you chose a boy. Your logic makes sense too about choosing him first. So exciting!!
  • Drove2uDrove2u member
@kristimh80 yes that's kinda what the doc told me. Only three appts. One is for baseline. One is for lining check and one is for the transfer. Of course, I still have to do the hysteroscopy and all this depends if everything goes smoothly. The first time around for IVF, it only took a month. But it's been two years and things could have changed.
  • @Drove2u Ugh, I have a feeling my doctor will want to do another hysteroscopy before transfer too. She likes them done every 6 months you're under-going treatments. You're lucky your 1st IVF only took around a month. My retrieval to transfer was 2 months. Think that's why I'm so hesitant to go into another retrieval before transfer. That wait just seems like an eternity lol

@kristimh80 two months isn't bad at all really!! Ive heard some girls where it is months. I guess mine technically will also be about two months.
Well, I found out today that insurance will pay for everything related to FET. I will just have $40 copays. Thank goodness! And I'm so happy that we are now officially doing this. I registered with my insurance company today so all is in motion. Meanwhile while I was on the phone with the insurance company *TW* My 16 month old was crying and I'm like "Hi, I need to register for fertility treatments and the lady goes "are you sure?" LOL" END *TW*
I'm so excited to be going through this journey with all of you!!
  • @Drove2u That's amazing you have insurance coverage! Mine only will cover testing / bloodwork not fertility related. My husband keep telling me it's his "boat money" every time we have stuff done lol

@Drove2u that’s awesome!  I wish my insurance covered something. We have 90% coverage for diagnosic testing and that’s it. Everything else is OOP.  DH and I joke that our kids better get scholarships since we are spending their college funds trying to create them.

@ndz2018 I knooow!! I feel very lucky trust me. If we weren’t covered we honestly would not be able to do this. Or I guess we would have to get a bank loan or something.

Still waiting for AF to come. Already almost two days late. I need it to come today so I can do baseline Thursday or Friday. We’re leaving Friday for the long weekend. Ugh.

@Drove2u Some states mandate it and some don’t.. More BS! I’m in NJ which apparently can go either way. I have 4 full IVF cycles covered(only used 1 so far and hoping that will be my only one i will have to use), my bro/SIL had partial coverage shelled out about 12k all said and done , and then I have a friend who has ZERO covered no diagnostic testing NADA!
  • Drove2uDrove2u member
@ndz2018 ah ok! It’s a state thing. I didn’t know that. My insurance is NY since I work there. But I live in PA. I grew up in NJ. where do you live? Feel free to PM me.

@kristimh80 honestly I’m a little confused about the timeline myself. Lol I normally get my meds through Aetna specialty pharmacy. So I have to wait for authorizations and then someone else calls back to confirm and then someone else calls for your credit card. Lol. And then finally you get them. Ha! It takes a few days for me. I’m guessing they will be putting me on bcps for a July transfer. My hysteroscopy is on June 6 so still have some time for that.
  • @Drove2u Ahh ok, that makes sense then! Guess the only benefit not having insursance paying for anything, I don't have to wait for anyone. Silver lining lol Hopefully, June 6th goes well for you! <3

  • Drove2uDrove2u member
@kristimh80 thanks for doing that. I’ll prob fill mine in after the weekend. Just on my phone now.
So I found out a little more about my timeline this morning. I had the baseline today with complete blood work for CBC, stds, AMH and thyroid. I also had a us and all looks good. Waiting for my blood results which I should get in a few hours. I needed a baseline done before the hysteroscopy. So I will be going for another baseline in June to really start this. So technically it’s going to only take one month but this month is for testing.

@Drove2u Sounds about right! So is it just the hysteroscopy and testing this month? No meds or BCP?
  • @Drove2u Exciting!! That's great that they are doing more blood work for you. My RE mentioned doing more intensive blood work if we decided to do another retrieval to see if levels have changed. I'm tempted to ask again for it next month anyways. Nothing else, the amh part is nice to know. Mine was high a year ago, but I always wonder how retrievals affect it. Let us know how things go! :)
