@maureenmce I was dying for a burger last night too from Five Guys (not sure it is a national chain, it’s a burger place) but my husband couldn’t go to there. Maybe tonight I can make him...
I just got myself some Cinnabon, under the logic that cinnamon rolls were my craving last pregnancy so maybe this pregnancy they wouldn't make me want to ralph. My logic was not sound (although it was, objectively, delicious... tasted good, made me gag).
Still no actual throwing up, but I feel queasy when I'm hungry and queasy while I'm eating and queasy immediately after eating just about everything. Bummer.
@AGK2015 OMG - Cinnabon! We don't have any within an hour of us, which is so sad! I was really craving Cinnabon last week and DH and I drove all over looking for a decent bakery to get a cinnamon bun from. We ended up with donuts, which was thoroughly disappointing! @abowls Thanks! Now I want nothing but orange sherbet! lol! That sounds amazing and I will need to go to the store after work!

I woke up this morning craving soft serve ice cream. Particularly the flavor burst kind with the color around the edges in “blue goo” flavor and spent 45 minutes searching local menus to see where I can find this in SC (they have it in CT where my parents live) I came up with nothing and might die
I haven't wanted to eat anything because of my super bad nausea from week 5-7, but at my 8 week appointment on may 1 my doctor gave me some nausea meds and now I'm eating anything and everything! Most of my cravings have been for crap food.
I have been craving McDonald's terribly but have not given in yet and I'm 8wks 1 day. I'm actually pretty proud of myself. But I did go to the movies Tuesday and ate so much popcorn and it was like heaven!
I haven't yet had real nausea to keep me from eating, but I do have some aversions that make me feel like "ugh, this won't settle well." So today it's been more bread with PB than normal just to get some calories, I managed to eat 2 hard boiled eggs, and some yogurt with berries.
My nutritionist and doctor both told me to ignore common "avoid these during pregnancy" items if I just use common sense like raw fish only at good quality sushi restaurants and not from a grocery store where it's been sitting out all day, or soft cheese made with pasteurized milk. And I've been so excited and have been craving a salmon roll, so we're going out to sushi tonight. Here's hoping I can actually eat it, rather than getting there and deciding it doesn't look good any more!
Other than yesterday's In N Out, the only thing I've been able to have for lunch is chile relleno, which is, essentially, a large amount of melted cheese inside a green chile. I feel like this is such a weird thing to "settle" my stomach (it's spicy kind of! it's full of cheese!) but all of my other lunches make me want to gag.
I can't really eat anything other than bagels for breakfast or lunch, so I am really looking forward to my menu expanding beyond cheese, chiles and bagels. I miss vegetables and fruit and a varied diet. Bleh.
I'm having a particularly unhealthy day.... I'm needing sweets! I had some cake, and now I'm eating some fro-yo from Orange leaf. *sigh* Perhaps tomorrow I'll try to be better.
Well, we got Papa Johns pizza tonight and it spiked my BG levels (I'm not super shocked, but frozen pizza doesn't spike them), so I'm gonna be pissed if I'm actually diabetic after all this and can't have Papa John's
Ive been craving carrots lately, and we only buy shredded carrots for salads. So I sat here and ate shredded carrots as a snack. I'm gonna have to buy some baby carrots this weekend when we go grocery shopping.
@PensiveCrayon who knows. I got the BBQ Chicken Bacon pizza...I didn't even think about the BBQ sauce being a problem till my friend mentioned it, so I'm sure that with the pineapple really threw me over, I may just have to try a regular pepperoni like I do with frozen pizza. Which sucks because (apparently UO based on everyone in my life...) I LOVE pineapple pizza!!
@CecilB93 Ugh, I'm sorry the pizza didn't work out! It must be so tough to navigate first tri food aversions/cravings with the blood sugar issue. I'm sorry!
Guys, the only thing that sounds palatable for dinner is a baked potato, but everything I'm imagining putting on it (butter, sour cream, cheese, etc.) makes me want to puke. I can't...like...just have a plain baked potato can I? That's so weird. Is there something else I could put on it that I'm not thinking of???
@maureenmce it has definitely been a struggle when it comes to nausea and only certain things (typically carbs...) sound good. Protein makes me nauseous a lot, so that sucks that I HAVE to have a protein if I have carbs. For your potato...maybe a bit of olive oil? Is that weird? I'm thinking that would keep it from being super dry, but idk if it would taste weird or not. Typically butter is my go to...
I think cereal and fruit must be my pregnancy cravings. I don't usually dig cereal but for some reason when I'm pregnant it's the perfect before-bed snack. Just finishing a bowl of Lucky Charms, and I'll down my PNV with the leftover milk!

MH was so excited to make me dinner tonight and when I walked in the house, the smell of it made me gag. I didn’t tell him that, but shit, it was awful. It was tater tot casserole, and the only thing that tasted good to me was the tots on top. I’m with @CecilB93 proteins make me nauseous too.
On a brighter note, I ate this whole thing the other day:
I have been surviving MS with ginger ale and Ritz crackers. I also have a small bowl of honey nut Cheerios before I leave for work to put something in my belly. That's been working reasonably well, but I still feel crappy.
As for cravings, I went through a pizza phase, then a mashed potato phase, then a sandwich phase. Not sure what the next phase will be.
@binxybaby I feel like it's a puzzle on one of those standardized tests, with pictures of a pizza, a pile of mashed potatoes, and a sandwich. Then the question, "Which comes next?" If that makes any sense at all. I'm still drinking my coffee over here.

A whole bunch of junk. Pizza. Burgers, Maruchan Ramen bowls. Cereal. We're in the middle of a kitchen reno and I have no stove right now; I'm limited to a toaster oven, microwave, and food that doesn't need to be cooked. Since I am trying to avoid deli meats it's been rough. I've eaten more pizza and burgers in the past month than I did the entire year prior. Mooooo
I’m with all of you on aversions to protein. With my first I craved Korean beef tacos, though maybe that was after first tri? The only things that sound good to me consistently the past couple weeks are strawberries and plain ricecakes. Or nachos. Mmm.
The only protein I can tolerate is fried chicken or chicken tenders and I CANNOT handle seeing or smelling it raw. Lucky for me DH made some delicious fried chicken tonight.
I finally got my only good craving of this pregnancy so far - Ben and Jerry's Phish Food. I'm usually not an ice cream person so I probably haven't had it in 5 years but it was GOOD.
Now I just have to find something *other* than ice cream I can tolerate to eat for dinner and I'll call this day a win.
I feel like I am constantly hungy, even if I've just eaten and I hate it. lol.
Right now I am eating a Dorito taco salad that I made for a picnic we were supposed to go to this weekend and had to miss because of a sick toddler. It is delicious.

So when I was around 5-6 weeks, chicken sounded amazing. Like I wanted Cane’s non-stop. Now just thinking about it I’m gagging. Chicken made in any way sounds awful! My husband made chicken taquitos last night and I had to leave the house til the smell aired out. So I left and got myself some nachos from Taco Bell... which tasted delicious at the time but the thought of those makes me want to gag now too!
I have been craving a Mac n cheese burger for daaaays though. I think I might need one.
You guys are all talking about pizza. I might have to go to the pizza place down the street and get a slice to add to my lunch. It sounds delicious.
I haven't been able to handle protein in the mornings (get a tiny bit from peanut or almond butter, but I eat it with toast and banana...). Then I had some full-fat greek yogurt and blueberries when I finally could handle it. I have a small (2.5-3 oz) piece of leftover porkchop and strawberries with my lunch - I didn't plan correctly today... haha. So I guess pizza it is. Ha!
I am disgusted by meat right now. So I was searching for foods at lunch and wanted a grilled cheese and tomato soup. Well there was chili so I went with that. Good news - it tasted okay. I ate it. Bad news- I forgot I hate cheese now. I already had gas and cramps from it. Good news - after I had to run to the bathroom, my gas pains are all gone now!
You guise, I made a miscalculation. I ate all the strawberries at lunch and now I have nothing tart to cut through the nausea. It’s going to be a long rest of the afternoon. Seriously need to plan better.
