Thanks ladies for being so supportive!

AF started spotting last night, I’m counting today as CD 1 (my full flow on average is very light) and I made my call to the nurse. Hopefully she’ll get back to me soon for a baseline appt.

@rosis it’s great you’re spotting now too hopefully full flow for you will come soon!! I’m so anxious to get this started and also don’t want to stress too much either!

@ndz2018  that’s an awesome lining! Yay to being one step closer!!

    @greenhillgirl thinking of you today!!

@greenhillgirl Best of luck with your transfer today! Hope everything goes well and that you can relax after.

@mrsyng Great that you've started your cycle, one less thing to stress about :)

@roisis fingers crossed AF hurries up and doesn't delay things any more.

@northbeach3  I totally understand you about being guarded. Last time I was swept up in the excitement of doing IVF for the first time whereas now I'm trying to think about it as just another step in our IF journey and not to focus too much on the possibilities for the future just yet.

AFM Over the weekend I began worrying about the possibility of ovulating before I got a chance to do the trigger, and how that would completely mess up the timing for transfer. My scan on Saturday morning showed I had a 19mm follicle so I felt waiting until Tuesday night to trigger was a bit of a stretch.
On Sunday I had lots of EWCM so yesterday I wrote to my doctor to tell him about my concerns and he told me I could come in for a scan to check things out. We were on our way home from our weekend trip and weren't even sure we'd make it back on time. Luckily we did because it turns out I had already ovulated! We could see the collapsed follicle and there was still some liquid around so he said it probably occurred sometime between Sunday night and Monday afternoon.
I've been tracking my cycles for the past 3 years and I've always ovulated late, it's usually around CD18 - CD20 if not later, this month I was only CD13. Maybe all the stimming meds etc had some effect on my cycles, or maybe it was just a random once-off.
Unfortunately the clinic isn't open on Saturday so we'll do the transfer on Friday. I guess we've no way to pin-point exactly when I ovulated but Friday would be somewhere between 4 and 5DPO. I'm a bit worried about getting the timing wrong, I'm not sure how precise they have to be with transferring a 5 day blast. I suppose I just have to trust they know what they're doing.
    I'm 34, SO 39
    TTC since July 2015
Unexplained infertility - delayed/weak ovulation but don't know why
BFP Feb 2016 MC at 6.5 weeks
    Started Clomid November 2016
BFP March 2017 (third cycle on Clomid) HCG failed to rise, MC at 6 weeks.
IUI July 2017 BFP which turned out to be CP
    IVF scheduled for Feb 2018

  • Thanks everyone! My transfer went well and am home relaxing. I was able to get my bladder more full this time so they could see better. They implanted our best looking embryo which is female and added baby aspirin to my protocol. Beta will be on May 10.

Im not doing anything special this time. Im very science oriented and kind of burnt out on the  natural tips and dietary tips to be honest. Were approaching three years and over 36 disappointments so im not as positive or in to it as I used to be. I wanted to do acupuncture but my person i used during IUI changed her schedule and it just got to be more stressful than beneficial to get there regularly. On a more positive note I’m taking Wednesday and Thursday off to recharge, relax, and de stress and I’m really looking forward to that.

@Orlaa I’m sorry this happened to you! The clinic should’ve known better like c’mon it was 19mm which is considered to be mature! I hope your upcoming transfer will still be successful! I guess I’m fortunate in a sense that my clinic opens everyday. I don’t know how I would manage with a clinic that closes on the weekends, IF by itself is already stressful enough.

@greenhillgirl glad you’re relaxing at home! Enjoy the next few days off.
  • @Orlaa So glad you listened to your gut and was able to get that scan ASAP!

@greenhillgirl Good to hear things went well and you'll get some good rest the next couple of days! :) This is the absolute 1 time it's completely ok to be selfish :) But I get not messing with all the natural tips, etc. For my last FET, I think I must have tried them all and think they even added stress to it all. FX for your little one to stick the next couple of day <3

  • @greenhillgirl let’s go sticky bean!! I forget, do you plan to POAS before your beta?

@ndz2018 yeah, lining! Things are really picking up now!

@Orlaa oh man how stressful but good thing you know your body so well. Sadly, I have no idea how exact of a science it is with FETs since this will be my first. Did you get any sense from the doctor? Did he or she seem unphased by a Friday transfer?

happy to hear your new cycle is starting, @mrsyng! Happy to see the board picking up!

afm, my cold came back as a really gnarly cough! It’s the last week of our semester so just telling my body to get through this week at least. Tonight, 3rd e2 shot. One week til lining check.

  • @Orlaa I thought you were going to say that your transfer was cancelled! That's crazy they wouldn't trigger you and/or have you come in for a scan the next day when your follicle was at 19mm! I'm glad to hear that you can still do your transfer. I don't think your doctor would schedule the transfer if he thought the timing would be off - the clinics want to keep their success rates up.

    @ndz2018 Nice lining! I'm jealous!

@greenhillgirl I'm in complete agreement about not buying into any of the non-science based IVF hoopla. During my **trigger warning?** natural pregnancy, I was binge drinking (alcohol and coffee), over-exerting myself on the dance floor/my bike, and I was taking multiple medications you're not supposed to! Prior to this, I tried to be really "good" during my transfer cycles, and they ended in failure causing me to think I wasn't being good enough. Now, I think that the best thing to do is to let go of the idea that you have any control over the outcome. And I hope you have a wonderful outcome!

    @northbeach3 Ugh, sorry you're sick.

AFM, I had my second lining check today and it was 8.4mm, so my transfer is scheduled for May 11. I was hoping for a thicker lining, but I'll still be on 4 estrogen patches for 5 more days, so there's some more time for it grow. I stop Lupron and start PIO on Sunday. I have been doing my own Lupron shots, but my husband will be doing my PIO shots. I'm way too intimidated by the needles to do it myself.

  • @SingleGeneMe this is my first time checking the boards from my laptop and finally saw your signature/blog (don't see siggys on my phone app). what an incredible journey you've had with your IVFs/FETs. sounds like the medicated cycle this time is paying off in terms of getting more time to grow a thicker lining, but also allowing you for better planning with work events. you'll just be a few days before me! :)  hoping this is the month!

  • @greenhillgirl Yay! Glad your transfer went well.  I think you said you were taking time off - so enjoy that!

@roisis I teach piano and voice lessons, so I think I'm going to incorporate more of my own practice time over the next couple weeks.  I've also been wanting to do some updating on my website, so that might be a good project too!

@Orlaa I was thinking along the same as @SingleGeneMe so I'm glad you didn't need to cancel! fx for a successful transfer on Friday!

AFM - Started Lupron on Sunday and got headaches almost immediately.  Anyone else dealt with that? I'm really hoping it's just a coincidence with the wacky spring weather and not the meds...I don't think I could make it the whole month.
  • roisisroisis member
@mrsyng Yay for CD1 :) I can spot for several days, so not there yet - but she'll get here.
@orlaa What a stressful way to finish your lovely weekend :( I'm just so glad you went with your gut to get an appointment and can still go ahead with your transfer. I also don't know how exact it has to be, but your window is less than 24 hours which I'd imagine should be ok?  plus if the doc is going ahead he must think it's still ok. As controlled as these cycles are, I still believe there's so much of it that's down to chance.
@greenhillgirl Congrats on the transfer <3 I agree with you on not stressing on the little habits. I think for some people they offer some sense of control but for others they're just other things to worry about. I'd say realistically giving yourself 2 days off to relax is medically a much more effective plan.
@SingleGeneMe  Congrats on getting a transfer date :) As you say - still plenty of time to thicken up that lining.
@northbeach3 Bah!! Sorry you're sick :( Hopefully you're just getting all the bugs out of your systems before transfer.
@ASabelko I've never taken Lupron, but I think I remember someone saying that it can trigger migraines - do you generally suffer from migraines?

@northbeach3 Hope you get to feeling better!! I can imagine the kids you teach probably bring in all kinds of things to school. How are your e2 shots? I'm wondering if I should ask my RE for those instead of daily pills. Seems would be a lot easier / convenient.

@Orlaa Glad you spoke up! 2 more days till transfer?? Crazy May literally snuck up on me and I’m like OH SH*T!! I wanted to do all this stuff before transfer and now it’s next tue and I’m just kinda going with it at this point.

@SingleGeneMe I’m super intimidated by the PIO needles too! I decided to let my H do them at night so tomorrow I need to do it twice once in the morning around 8 and then again around 8pm after that I can continue to do them in the PM. This way if My H is out of town I can Have my brother do it, he did for his wife so he’s a pro!

@ASabelko I only Used lupron to trigger and I feel Like all those ER meds gave me a headache!

@roisis YAY for spotting she’ll be here shortly and we can get you rolling!

    @mrsyng YAY for CD 1!

@greenhillgirl So glad your transfer went smoothly! Now relax! I’m thinking about taking off the following day and the day after too, mainly just because I can And we launched a new program at work this week that I’ve been spear heading and it’s been kinda stressful with everyone bombarding me with Questions and problems ... so maybe just let them all suffer for a day or two while i let my embryo snuggle in.
  • Hi ladies! So random question... I called the pharmacy today (MDR) to go ahead and order the PIO since I'll likely be needing it next week and they told me there was a manufacturer shortage but they could give me progesterone in olive oil...WTF?! They said my doctor ok'ed it but it was almost double the cost. Anyone heard of this? Also what other pharmacies are you guys using? Think I'm going to call around...

@ndz2018 well done for the PIO, I think the idea of doing it is worse than the shot itself. I felt pretty sore hours later but mainly because I didn't have the patience to do much warming up or massaging  :p

I can't believe my transfer is tomorrow, it all happened so suddenly I keep almost forgetting about it, especially since I'm not doing all the pills and shots this time.
I'm still worried about the timing but I guess they wouldn't bother transferring if it was an issue. I'm also happy it's on Friday so I can chill for the weekend :)

@orlaa TOTALLY! I was texting with my brother right before I did it, he did IVF with his wife, he offered to come over to do it for me on his way to airport which i thought was really sweet of him. My H was home but sleeping, he's got a super high pressure job and I like to let him sleep if I can, he offered to do it this morning last night but I told him I wanted to try myself.... idk maybe to know I have some sense of knowing I can if by chance he isn't around? Regardless, I am feeling very accomplished today !
YAY for your transfer tomorrow!!! How are you feeling about it?

@roisis lol. YES, AF YOU BETTER NOT SHOW! IT’S WAY TOO CLOSE TO THE WEEKEND! (Hoping this really does work! ;) )

@Orlaa that’s so exciting! Happy transfer eve! Hopefully, you’ll have a restful sleep tonight and a successful transfer tomorrow!

@ndz2018 that’s awesome you were able to do the PIO by yourself. I’m very thankful PIO is not in my FET plan but I still watched some videos on YouTube and OMG!!! Those neeldes!! Lol.

    @northbeach3 I hope you’re feeling better!! <3

AFM, I had baseline this morning and we are in the clear to start meds!! I’m excited but also nervous!! I’m FINALLY that much closer to transfer (slightly over 2wks out) lol. Follow up US will be 5/11 and tentative FET 5/18 but based on my previous iui cycles with injections trigger day is typically CD 12 which I’m hoping for since FET would be on a Saturday!! :) but I guess any day would be great if it gives me my thb/s!

@mrsyng yay for starting meds, I find once the process gets started time seems to fly by , I hope these next two weeks pass quickly for you :)

Transfer is done! They transferred 2 blasts <3<3 .  One was looking a bit weaker than the other after defrosting but fingers crossed at least one makes it. I was happy with the procedure, my doctor was here to do it this time and it was over in a few minutes.  With my last transfer he was away and I could tell the doctor who replaced him wasn't as experienced.

I feel fine, just chilling out for a while before we head home. I'm going to check my beta in 12 days but I think I'll try a HPT in 9 days.
Super happy it's the weekend, my cousin and her family are coming over from Ireland tomorrow so looking forward to seeing them.

@Orlaa Woo-hoooo!! All done - that's fantastic :) Excellent timing in doing it before the weekend. That's lovely that you have family around you at this time - hope you have a great one <3<3

@mrsyng Yay for getting started! That's so great - I agree that once you actually get the process started the time will pass much quicker <3

Is it a bank holiday weekend with ye guys too or is that just here? I decided to work from home today and try to relax - I have a big commute and it gets a lot worse on long weekends - grumpy little me would be best to stay away!! DH is insisting we go out for dinner tonight because I've been so frustrated all week, I think he just desperately wants to help. I know this whole thing is obviously so much tougher on us that have to go through it, but sometimes I do realise how hard it must be for our SO's that have to watch and just support - and not be able to physically do anything. As I have said to him ; "If I could let you give the injections to yourself, I would":wink:
Enjoy the weekend (long or regular!) ladies <3<3<3

  • @roisis Don't rub your bank holidays in to us! :D We don't get such things in the U.S. My good friend lives in Edinburgh and is always getting bank holidays. At least for me, we get Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. Those are the only three holidays for the next 5 months.

@northbeach3 I don't think I will POAS. My thinking is, if its negative it just brings the heartache a few hours or a day sooner and I would still second guess it and same for positive- I would be worried about a CP. My beta is on 5/10 and they always do it 9 days after transfer, so it's not too late.

mrsyng  congrats on getting started. It's a good feeling!

ndz2018 congrats on doing your PIO yourself. See, it's not so hard!  :/  I always mark my spot with an eyeliner or eyepencil first so I can pick something between and not on a vein. Then I can stand on one leg and shoot without having to find the perfect spot at the same time. Pro tip lmao.

@Orlaa That sounds so stressful and frustrating. I'm sorry! At least I don't think the doctor would have done that if you didn't have a very good chance with the timing. When is beta?

I had a nice vacation at home and am now back at work. AND it's my husband's birthday. I made him a cake to have tonight and a few little presents to open and then we are going out for Brunch and a treat for him on Sunday.

I'm struggling to stay calm. I've had cramps that started 2 days after transfer and have continued on and off through now. I just want to ignore anything that is happening in my body but it's hard when symptoms appear just asking for symptom spotting. I know if this one is negative I will be kind of devastated and need a real break. My husband turns 47 today and I feel like time is running out. Wah, crazy brain.

  • @Orlaa woohoo! Hope those embabies find a good place to burrow! Glad you’re able to take it easy this weekend and enjoy some time with your family/friends.

@ndz2018 you’re transfer is right around the corner! You’re a PIO rockstar. Still haven’t given my own PIO. How are you feeling? Will they do another lining check?

@roisis are you still spotting or did AF come in full force?

@mrsyng you’re transfer will be just a few days after me! Glad you’ve gotten started. It is very exciting...until it’s anxiety inducing and nerve wracking! Haha

@greenhillgirl ack! The TWW is a beast. Symptom spotting only adds to the crazy! I feel you on the emotional roller coaster of testing. My RE did my first beta 6dp5dt which seems super early  compared to other clinics. If he does that again, I won’t HPT. Last time my beta was 20 at 6dp transfer and I don’t think that would register on my cheapies.

Afm, on day 3 of cough portion of my cold and have a hoarse throat. May need to finally break down and go to the doc to make sure it isn’t something more serious. It’s our colleges graduation today so I’ve still gotta suck it up bc I want to be there to support our students.

But FET question, if I’m on a medicated cycle, will I be triggering? My calendar only goes through first lining check next Tuesday (CD 15) and they didn’t have me order ovidrel. Just estradiol and PIO. Now I’m worried that my clinic is too hands off in monitoring!!

  • @orlaa Happy Transfer Day!!! <3

@greenhillgirl Don't get sad! I think cramps can be a really good thing! My gf said she had cramps the whole time and ended up with a BFP! For me, I felt nothing the whole time of my last FET...so try to keep happy thoughts :)

  • Found this when googling my symptoms (I know, I know) and it made me lol
  • @northbeach3 I am doing a medicated transfer and there is no trigger shot. 6 days before my transfer, I do my last Lupron shot. Then 5 days before my transfer, I start PIO shots and reduce the number of estrogen patches. The PIO & estrogen just continues with no changes until I find out if I'm pregnant.

  • THanks ladies! Clearly the anxiety is setting in and I’m starting to worry about every last little thing. I wish I was better about being able to be in the moment and not always focused on the future. I only have a few more days until Tuesday’s first monitoring appointment. I’m going to tell myself that the ample CM is a good sign that things are working as they should.

  • @ndz2018 Congrats on the PIO! It's not in my protocol this time around, but I found during IVF that I felt way more comfortable doing IM injections rather than having my DH do them.  It was nice to have the control.

@roisis @kristimh80 I definitely get migraines - so I'm glad I asked!  It was helpful to find out that they really only want me taking Tylenol rather than my normal quick-acting meds.

@Orlaa FX for a great transfer tomorrow! We're rooting for a sticky bean :)

@northbeach3 hope you're feeling better soon!

AFM, I'm traveling this weekend so I'm not looking forward to hauling meds around but I'm sure I'll be fine!
  • @ASabelko good luck with hauling them around! I’m sure we all have some funny stories of where we’ve shot up! Haha

AFM, just leaving urgent care with 10-day antibiotic regimen for sinusitis and 7 day steroidal treatment for seasonal allergies.  The 10-day augmentin will put me right up to my transfer day. What are yalls thoughts on following through with treatment? Or when would you stop?

@northbeach3 So good you are getting this done ahead of it all! I'd probably check with your RE / nurse to see their thoughts. Since only on estrogen / progesterone before transfer, I can't imagine it would be too much of an issue for now. But they may have a better take on it for when to stop :) BTW: Hope you start to feeling better!!

  • northbeach3  poor you! I bet you can take it right up to transfer but I'd double check.
  • Thanks ladies. I was still feeling crappy so I erred on taking the drugs. It’s only been a couple of dosages but it’s helped tremendously. Cough is receding and congestion clearing up. I figure it’s better to be healthy during transfer. Plus I forgot rhat they some times give you antibiotics anyway!! I should finish all all but a handful of pills the day before transfer. Just hope I’m still growing a cushy lining.

@northbeach3 I got sick a few weeks ago it sucked, well it was more my allergies/cough/cold I felt Awful but figures there’s nothing in there yet so and it was about 2 weeks till transfer so it’s NBD! Feel better!

@Orlaa Congrats on your Transfer!! When’s your first beta?

@greenhillgirl I know it’s hard to not freak or symptom spot! And i do think cramping is a good thing! That being said how much longer till beta? And can you think of anything to keep you occupied?

AFM, Tough weekend got into a huge fight with MH to the point where he was almost telling me maybe we shouldn’t do the FET and to top this all off we had my bffs father funeral.... like WTF?!?! As if this weekend wasnt hard enough Burying a man who was like a father to me growing up, you have to fight with me and say something like that OF ALL EFFING THINGS WHILE IM HORMONAL?!!?!  Ugh sorry just needed to vent everyone. Ugh men are SO SO frustrating sometimes! We don’t fight often so I suppose They get nervous too but still we are literally 3 days away not the effing time man!

@roisis I wish we had bank holidays here!!!!  I suppose it is hard on out SOs and if you read above I got Into with mine this weekend too. I suppose I am Ridiculously hormonal and probably shouldn’t have said some of the things I said and vice vera. I think this whole process puts a huge strain on relationships. This weekend surely was a build up of a lot of things for ours. Gotta take the good days with the bad, right?
  • @ndz2018 Ugh, I'm so sorry you're having a rough weekend! You're right, they get stressful and usually don't have a good way if showing their feelings. Lately, my DH has been a pain so I've had to make snide comments to put him in check. We also never fight, but I get it. You should be excited right now. Try not to let all the craziness get to you. You FET is Tuesday, right?

  • @ndz2018 I’m so sorry you’re dealing with all that. Try not to take the cruel words he spoke to heart because as we all know these struggles really do try a relationship more than anything else. You will get through it.

I cant imagine dealing with that stuff while hormonal!! After my PIO shot last night I actually got really sad and almost cried for all the animals in the world without homes. Lmao. I text my mom and she just said “you poor hormonal baby” hahaha.

Were headed into manhattan for dh birthday of a spa facial thingy for him then a fancy brunch. So that is a good distraction. Four days til Beta. The cramps have continued and they’re bad. But could def be PIO.
  • Sorry to hear about the spat with DH, @ndz2018. Specially on the day of your friends fathers funeral. :( emotions are running high and it can be hard to pause before speaking or emoting. We threw a cinco de mayo party yesterday and I was bit cold to my DH bc he wasn’t helping set up as much and then I realized he was doing other house prep stuff and felt like a jerk. Do what you can to smooth things over. You wanna feel good going into your transfer!

@greenhillgirl you are a strong woman for not HPT!! I’m counting down the four days with you!!

@orlaa hope the little one has snuggled in for the long haul and is building up your HCG! :)
