I am definitely not allowed to buy any more babywearing apparatuses. But if I were to get one I have my eye on this wrap that’s been lingering in my local bst site lol
August '18 March Siggy Challenge - You had ONE JOB
lol I've been there. After DS2 outgrew babywearing I sold or gave away most of my stash. All I have left is a full WC Tula that has always been my favorite and I will never part with it. I'm holding off on buying anything else until I know what the sex is of this baby but I figure with love noir you can't go wrong either way, I had a love noir Tula at one point for DS2. However if baby is a girl I'm buying the girliest shit you can find!
@neeraja_k I'm sorry for your experience with everything. I was diagnosed with GD with my DS - once i failed both 1 and 3 hour test my OB referred me to a dietician who is in their same building. I met with her once for 'guidance', then tested after each meal, sent my numbers weekly to my OB/nurse ant I was all good. If anything was close to or over the 140 mark, they asked at my appointments, but I learned what I could and could not eat. Like you said, people with diabetes and GD react different to food - just keep listening to your body and doing what you're doing
ETA Because TB keeps cutting off all my posts. Grrrr
After my post being buried multiple times on Car Seats for the Littles, I thought I’d ask here: Does anyone have the Graco Click Connect 30 infant seat? If so, would you be willing to tell me how many inches the seat is, front to back, with the handle upright? I’m trying to figure out if it’ll fit behind the driver seat, and if I could still drive comfortably.
@ecwk My closest BRU is closing. I drove up there yesterday, but they’d already sold out of it. The next closest store is something like 2.5-3 hours away depending on traffic.
Speaking of BRU, and not to hijack the thread, but they're having one of those "trade-in events" from Feb 16 through March 16th I think. I thought it'd be a good way to unload the crib my mom gave me, that I don't want, in exchange for store credit for things I'm sure to need down the road (like car seats). I've never stepped foot in a BRU, how does the exchange work? Do I just bring the old crib in, or do I have to schedule an appointment? I'd like to get it taken care of while I'm down there for my next prenatal appointment next Wednesday, since it's not going to be a cold, rainy mess.
@neeraja_k - from what I understand you bring it to customer service and they give you a coupon for (I think) 25% off an item. I do believe there is an expiration date on the coupon but I'm not sure. *This is all based on some half-assed googling, I haven't done the trade in event myself
My mom is a nurse and it's taking a workshop today about pregnancy, labor, and delivery. She's been messaging me all day with things she's learning. Her job has nothing to do with L&D, she's just taking this workshop because she's interested now that I'm pregnant, and she gets paid to attend. It'll be nice to know she's informed about complications and such when I go into labor.

You just bring it in. You don’t need to make an appointment.
Oh, super random random but I'm kinda sad the symptoms boy or girl troll didn't come back to play. I mean, I had @ecwk's bingo card ready and everything.
Pity party NBR AW post: I just found out I'm losing my job at the end of September. The call center I work out of is closing. I'm due 8/13. Sightly freaking out, trying to stay calm. T&Ps appreciated. Anyone else experienced anything like this?

@lakesideknitter oh no, I’m so sorry! I’ve never experienced anything like this, but sending internet hugs. Don you get a severance package, or are there other locations you could get a transfer to?
I can take a severance or transfer to a work-from-home customer service position (totally unrelated to my field but I could keep my current salary). I'll probably end up transferring to prevent losing my benefits during maternity leave. It'll end up being worth more than severance would - 20 weeks vs 15 weeks heavily taxed. Thank you for your thoughts. I'm sure we will be okay, it's just overwhelming. @scottishlass1213@lolog531

@lakesideknitter Without knowing the details, the work from home CS position sounds pretty great for having a new baby at home. It would certainly give you some time to figure out your next move. DH was able to work from home for 10 years, and it was fantastic.

@derbysquirrel yeah, my husband works from home and loves it. I would NEED to leave the house at least one per day tho. At least to go for a walk. I'm sure it will all work out fine. It might also be weird for both of us to work from home simultaneously. But we'll figure it out.

Just want to share a good quick read on American Olympic gold medal winning new mom Kikkan Randall. What an inspiration. Having that medal to show her little boy when she gets home brings tears to my eyes.
@lakesideknitter oh no! I’m sorry you’re dealing with this! No advice or experience here, will you be able to transfer to the other position before September so you don’t have to deal with transferring a few weeks post partum? All good thoughts heading your way
I got an email this morning that my glucose test results were in, so I immediately signed onto the portal. Normal range is 65-140 and my number was an 83!! Yay to not having GD! I believe I’ll still have to test late 2nd tri, but one less thing to worry about the next 13ish weeks. I’ve been eating worse than normal, so I still need to get that in check and start making better choices, but for now it’s a huge sigh of relief!
School is canceled because we are covered in ice. SO is supposed to fly in this evening. And I am so scared flights will be canceled or the roads will be too bad to get to the airport. GO AWAY WINTER. WE DO NOT WANT YOUR KIND HERE.
@mrsbubbles-2 I'm hoping I wouldn't have to start the new position until after maternity leave. We have a lot of questions to ask tho before we make any decisions.

That suck, @dirtanddiamonds hope your DHs flight is not cancelled!
About to head to my friends house and drop off a digital hpt for her to take...she had two negatives yesterday that showed a line after the time limit. I know, I know, evaps and all that...but they were pink lines and that happened to me at 9dpo this time...also had same thing happen today, faint line hoping not a chemical....eeeeeeek send good vibes!!!
@lakesideknitter Maybe this could end up being a blessing. Working from home with your newborn could really work out nicely. FX it all works out in your favor!
This is random and kind of a BF or WTF but it Thursday. We hired a new admin. assistant who started last week. She is super nice BUT she is late pretty much every day. Like 15 - 20 mins late. She was out sick on Monday and Tuesday which is fine. But I just feel like if I started a new job I would try being on time at least in the beginning. I know things happen but, not everyday. It really doesn't affect my job but we are a pretty small office and the moral has been shaky lately with new hires getting away with a ton.
I had an interior designer come and do a 1-hr consult in home about paint colours (we just moved in in October and have only painted two of the kids' rooms so far). I am so excited about what we came up with - there are only a few rooms that were a priority to get painted, but now that I have ideas that tie together for the whole house I just want to paint the whole thing.
@alinafed what colors are you thinking? I'm weird, I just like my walls to be all one, neutral color. DH and I are still debating painting the baby's room.
We found out the baby's sex at around 8:30 this morning. By 9:30 my mom had already bought him $200 worth of clothes and my dad got him two baby hockey jerseys for when they watch NHL games together. My parents are ridiculous.

@lolog531 - YAY!!! So glad your results were good!
@dirtanddiamonds - I really hope your SO makes it home without delays, ditto about winter. I'm so over it.
@Brezzy1928 - ugh, what a pain. If it's a pattern is there a way to have like a department head hold a meeting and outline the standards? That's such a pain to deal with, I'm sorry!
@alinafed - how exciting! I love it when home improvement projects come together!
AFM it's already a shit day at work and I'm feeling scrappy. So rather than just kind of accepting the crap I'm getting handed I'm firing back. It's a departure from my normal non-confrontational self and I don't think people know what to make of it lol! Don't poke the hornet's nest if you don't want to deal with what comes out!

I just spent $17 on this bag of candy from Dylan’s Candy Bar at the airport
@melprop I don’t have that seat any more so I can’t check but I think you can go to a store and test it out in your car. Can you get to a BRU?
My first box of clothes for this baby showed up at the house last night... omg the nb onesies are so teeny tiny!!!
