My name is Kara. I’m 25 and my husband is 28. We live in Western Pennsylvania. I am due around October 18th. This is our first child so I am very glad to have a community of veteran and first time mamas alike. Scared and overjoyed is how we feel!
We recently moved back to the area from Lexington Kentucky with our two Jack Russell Terriers to be closer to family for when we have kids and I guess it was good timing
We are huge Kentucky Wildcat and Pittsburgh Penguin fans. Nick works in IT and I work in agriculture. I coach a livestock judging team in my spare time.
My first appointment is on March 9th and I am super eager and nervous! Any tips, tricks or pointers for a healthy pregnancy would be appreciated.
Hello ladies! My name is Daphney, and I’m due October 14th. This is our first baby, and it still doesn’t feel entirely real. I’m 26 and my husband is 34. I’m the first one of my siblings to have a baby, and none of my friends have gotten pregnant either. It will be nice to have the support of you guys, since I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed right now.
My husband and I live in Michigan with our two dogs, a golden and a husky. I’m a high school teacher. In my free time I love reading, watching YouTube vlogs, gaming, and hanging out with my family. I’m so excited to be a mom!
Hi everyone! Finallly got my BFP after 11 months of trying! Me and DH have a 2.5 yr old daughter and we are sooooo extremely happy to be expanding our family
Hi! First time caller! I'm currently 6w+2. This is my first pregnancy, so I'm thrilled/terrified. To make things complicated, I'm also planning a wedding. My fiance and I are getting married in August, so I'll be about 7 months pregnant on our wedding day. Oh, and the wedding is in a brewery (which is a real bummer for me because I do love my beer.) It's not how we planned it to happen, but we're both really excited. 2018 is going to be a huge year for us! Glad to be here!
Hi all!! My name is Nikki, I'm a second time Mom (DD is 20 months) and I'm due October 29, 2018 (though I'm pretty sure that'll change to October 26 with my first u/s because we were tracking with OPKs so we're pretty positive of when we conceived). Hoping for a happy, healthy 9 months for us all
I just got mine 2 days ago, very early. AF is not even due until Friday. Anyway, I live in the Seattle area with my husband, 21 month old son, and our cat.
DS took 9 cycles to conceive with temping, OPKS, preseed, the works...so I expected it to take awhile. Color me shocked when after 5 cycles of NTNP, here I am! Due 11/1, but that board hasn’t opened yet, so I’ll probably just straddle both boards.
Hi! FTM 7 weeks today... Stopped BC in October & nothing happened so in January used OPKs and Bam! Super excited to have first Ultrasound and see the little Nugget this week... Plan to tell close family at 9 weeks and the anticipation is killing me!
Hi, I’m Kate! I live in south central PA. I’m 29 and my husband is 31 and this is our first pregnancy! We are beyond ecstatic as we have struggled with infertility for the past year and a half. EDD is 10/14 and we saw baby’s heartbeat this morning at 6w2d!
We have 3 spoiled fur babies (a dog and 2 cats). I’m an occupational therapist and work with kiddos who have special needs while my husband is in the Army. We are very happy to be living close to family as the Army previously moved us to Buffalo NY but after they moved us back home out of pure coincidence and luck, we’ve decided we are not going to move anymore! Woo hoo!
Hi all! My husband and I are pregnant with our second child. My estimated due date is October 29th based on temping and OPKs. I am just over 4 weeks now and haven’t had any symptoms other than heartburn. I look forward to getting to know you ladies!
Hi everyone! Another NYC first pregnancy! My estimated due date is October 4th. 8 weeks pregnant today! Some daily nausea and headaches but not too bad. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Hi Ladies! I've been lurking for a bit and decided to finally introduce myself. I got my bfp a couple weeks ago and my EDD is October 21st. I have a 4 year old DD who will be 5 when the new baby is here. TW* I had a mmc a little over a year ago; we went in for our 11 week scan and baby was measuring only 7 weeks with no heartbeat. I had no bleeding/cramping and all the symptoms still so it was pretty shocking. Luckily I'll be getting an earlier ultrasound this time around, but I'm still pretty nervous. *End TW. I'm excited to get to know everyone and share this journey with you all!
BFP #1: due 6/17/2013, DD born 6/25/13 BFP #2: due 6/30/2017, MMC found 12/7/2016 BFP #3: due 10/21/2018
Hello! I'm a little nervous to post because it's a bit early. I got a bfp this weekend and another this morning (just to be sure lol). My estimated due date is 21 October. I'll be 35 this week and my husband and I live in Alabama. This will be our second child. My DD will be 2 in April. I plan to surprise my husband this weekend and I'm having a hard time keeping it to myself!
Hello hello! I got a BFP yesterday after AF was 4 days late. *TW I got a BFP in December 17 but lost it, which was super hard since my husband had gotten over excited and told a bunch of people. We've decided not to tell anyone just yet this time. (Thankfully). My first doctor appointment will be March 14th. My EDD is October 27th. I'm anxiously awaiting that doctor appointment to confirm things! Hubs and I are both 29, but I turn 30 SATURDAY! (Dirty-Thirty, what!). We have a furry toddler who is a jack russell/chihuahua mix and he's our love. I'm a mental health counselor for work and in my free time I like to read, play The Sims, ride four wheelers and play with Snapchat (hence my avatar). Looking forward to hopefully hanging out with you all for the next 10+ months!
Hi @legalmamanyc! I do have a doctor and a hospital- Dr. Joshua Holden my appt is not until 3/11. He's Columbia doctor that practices at NY Presbyterian. Their website is really good and each doctor has their page that gives descriptions of their experience, specialties, education, if their taking new patients, etc.
I decided to go with NY Presbyterian because they are a top rated hospital, vicinity to where I live- central Harlem, and my husband works for Columbia athletics so I know it works for insurance purposes. Also, I have heard from other BMBs that Colombia's OB department has free private birthing rooms- over 40 rooms. Hope this helps! Excited to have some other NYC ladies on here!
Hello everyone! I’m super excited to be able to be a part of this group
My husband and I have been married for a year and a half and this will be our first baby. We feel very blessed!! I’m 25 and he’s 24, but he will be 25 when baby’s born. We have two dogs that are our world right now, a chocolate lab and a boxer. They both love kids/babies, but will have to adjust to sharing our attention with their baby sister/brother! We live in the Seattle area, I’m in the mortgage industry and hubby’s an electrician.
I got a very faint line 10 dpo, and retested every few days until the line got dark, yay! The doctor thinks I’m due 10/15, but I am 99% sure I know when I ovulated and I have consistently long cycles, so I think my due date is around 10/21. We have our blood test and questionnaire on 2/27 and then first ultrasound 3/23! Can’t wait!
I’ve been really hungry, thirsty, and a little crampy here and there. I have some days where I’m crazy tired, and haven’t been sleeping well. Oh and super sore boobs, like, since the beginning. BUT overall I feel good and am very happy
We haven’t really told many people yet, I’m nervous about something going wrong, it’s still so early, and it still doesn’t feel real!
I became a member of the bump with my last pregnancy A15! We have since became a group on fb, still talk daily and seriously have become family. I really hope it’s the same with this group!
EDD: 10.15.18 had my first sono yesterday 6w1d
This is my fourth pregnancy I have 2 daughters ages 11 & 9 and my A15 is 2 and my first baby boy needless to say spoiled rotten
@macheno 40 private rooms?!? WHAAAAAAAAT? I delivered at NYP on 69th last time and there were only a handful of private rooms all for more than $1,000 none were available to me for my first delivery bc they were all taken. I’ve picked a new doctor —Sarah Yu bc Dr Waterstone wasn’t exactly my favorite especially toward the end and for my post visits. Dr. Yu delivers at NYP downtown on Williams St. with only THREE private rooms so honestly I might be willing to switch doctors if we had the chance of getting a private room. Thanks for the info!!!
I just found out I am pregnant last Wednesday and I am beyond excited. I am due around 10/15. It was very much a surprise for us. We had the 'let's start trying' talk last Monday and oops... I feel a little unprepared but reading everyones posts in these forums has been very helpful. About me.. My husband and I are 26 and we live about an hour outside of Chicago. I am an ICU nurse and I know nothing about pregnancy and babies. As soon as I learned we were pregnant I whipped out all of my old OB notes from college and have been studying up! I have so many questions about what I am in for. I love to kayak and be with my family and friends. I just found out my little cousin is about 8 weeks pregnant. My husband and I haven't announced our pregnancy yet so it's a fun little secret right now that our family is actually growing by 2 instead of 1.
Hello. This is our 2nd, DS was Jan '17 baby. I eventually faded from that group. If and when the move to fb happens I won't be going - not my deal. Hopefully it'll stay active around here though!
Hello Ladies, I'm 7 wks pregnant, not to mention ecstatic to have surpassed the half way point of the first trimester and other failed pregnancies. I'm 32 and from HI; the love of my life is a French 40yr old boy. The little bean is due 8. Oct. We live in Paris, France. I'm happy to be here to lurk, learn and share with all of you. Wishing all of us some lucky adventures!
Good morning ladies! I'm so happy this group exists! I found out I was pregnant a little over a week ago and had a pregnancy confirmation appointment two days ago. The scheduler messed up and scheduled me for an ultrasound so we actually got to see a heartbeat and a very small embryo. That made me feel so good. I've had a miscarriage in the past, luckily we weren't far along, but it still hurt! So this time I'm a little worried but trying not to worry cause that won't do any good! My due date is October 14th and I go in for my first OB on March 7th!
Hi! so excited to be here! Got my BFP 4 days after my wedding, according to my LMP I’m due October 31st. I tend to go a tiny bit early so I’ll probably stay here despite the fact that it’s possible I go into November.
*TW*
DD1- was July ‘13. Born in Cali things are a TON different there.
I had a miscarriage in September ‘14
DD2- was March ‘16 born in Mississippi.
Another miscarriage July ‘17
I’ve got my first appointment on Tuesday (the 27th) in the morning so excited about that. I’m 25 and work for a popular retail company as a manager in Mississippi. I love video games. I don’t watch a lot of tv (almost none, I am currently watching the Olympics and probably won’t touch my cable again for like a year once it’s over) I’ve got a German Shepard puppy and a rescue kitty and that’s about it. I’m pretty boring
I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and figured I'd finally introduce myself. My name is Kristina and I'm 27, husband is 28. We live in beautiful sunny FL and this is our first pregnancy. I'm so excited and grateful to have this community to learn from/share in the excitement since its killing me to keep this a secret! I'm 7w 4d and EDD is 10/7. I had my first ultrasound on Monday where DH and I heard and saw baby's heartbeat and we are so in love already. Can't wait to experience the rest of pregnancy (especially 2nd tri!) and finally share the news with the rest of our family and friends.
Wishing everyone else on here nothing but the best, and congratulations all you October mamas!!
Hello! I'm a 29 year old RN from MI and this is our first pregnancy! DH and I married in July and had intended on TTC immediately but came home from our honeymoon to 3 messages from my doctor's office... never a good sign. Long story short, I ended up with a LEEP procedure and eventually got the green light to TTC again. We were extremely lucky to get pregnant in our first month of trying! I was so prepared to have several months of waiting that things are a bit surreal and I'm feel as though I'm almost waiting for something bad to happen, but overall trying to remain positive! I'm 6w6d and our estimated DD is October 13! We don't have our first appt until Feb 28th, I'm hoping to feel more confident after that appointment, all these crazy symptoms, including aches and pains, has me constantly wondering what's normal and what's not.
DH and I love the outdoors! Our favorite spot to visit in the summer is Sleeping Bear Dunes, which we highly recommend you visit if you're in the area!
Anxious to see what these next several months will hold for us all!
@shannakaye13 there's a handful of us MI mamas! I've always wanted to visit Sleeping Bear, but still haven't gotten out there. I'm in the Detroit area.
I've been so excited to join in (finally got TB community privileges today - yay) and have been reading through this board since I got my BFP on Tuesday! My name is Michelle and I am 28 and my husband is 31. This is our first pregnancy and we couldn't me more happy after stopping BCP in November! We moved from my hometown of San Diego in March and laid down our roots in Palm Springs California - definitely happy that my non negotiable to move here was a pool - that will definitely be my life saver when it gets to 110 in June-August haha.
It has been a whirlwind of a year but we are so looking forward to this new chapter! It is looking like my DD will be October 28th so already looking forward to the holidays with our new addition.
I have been feeling pretty normal still other than a sore nipples and a little more fatigue. I'm currently anxiously awaiting to hear from the doctors office to set up my first appointment (around March 20th). My older sister is also pregnant and due in August and I finally get to tell her the big news in person when we are out in San Diego this weekend! So excited!!
Congrats to all you October mamas! Looking forward to the journey with you all
Got our BFP on Valentine’s Day with an EDD of Oct 23rd. I’m 32 and DH is 33, this is our first pregnancy and we’re ecstatic. We currently live in Vancouver B.C. with our french bulldog, Frank
Our first u/s is booked for March 24th at almost 10 weeks and we can hardly wait!
Hi Everyone! I’m Staci and I’m 31. My husband is 32 and this will be our 2nd! We have a 21 month old daughter. We are from St. Louis MO and both work in healthcare. Im a RN and my husband does healthcare IT. I’m thinking I’m due around Oct 27-30. My first U/S is 3/14 so we will see then! I had a C section with my first and I’m really hoping to have a VBAC with this baby! With my first pregnancy I lurked on here quite a bit but I’m planning on being more active this go around. Excited to get to know everyone over the next 9 months!
@shannakaye13 Welcome! I have lived in MI my whole life and have never visited Sleeping Bear Dunes. MH will have to plan a trip there sometime, I’ve always heard it’s wonderful!
I'm excited to be here, I'm Rebecca and I'm 28. I'm from New England.
I guess I technically got my BFP on January 29th, but I never actually saw a + since I found out during my annual exam. I was a little shocked since we had only been trying for a few weeks and didn't expect it to happen so quickly. But I'm also very thankful.
My EDD is 10/4 and this will be our first. We're very excited and I'm very tired, something I think you can all relate to! I can't wait to go on this journey with all of you!
Hey all. I’m a 3rd timer from NY. I have two boys, J 5 and M 3.
According to my LMP I’m due 10/29. I got my BFP 2/20. We’ve been trying since 4/17 and *TW had 2 CPs (June and September) along the way.* I’m still being cautiously optimistic about all this, at least til we get confirmation in 3 weeks but I’m hopeful.
I have 2 pets, a calico/tortoiseshell cat named Molly Weasley, and a chocolate lab/pitbull named Bellatrix LeStrange. And yes, I am a HUGE Harry Potter nerd.
