Finally had sex for the first time in over 2 months. At first I thought maybe I had forgotten how to do it. But after a while it turned out to be pretty good
It went way better than I thought. My boss teared up and gave me a hug and was very excited for us. She said I don’t need to worry at all, and was even open to an extended leave/coming back part time to extend my 12weeks if I want to!

@cthulu that’s great! I used to work for a law office that handled SS disability cases and I know it can be such a long and drug out process. @hardlyhannah so glad it went well for you, I know that had to be a huge relief!
Is anyone planning to go an elective ultrasound place to find out the sex before your AS? How many weeks will you be when you plan on going?
@LC12261012 No, I'm leery of going to a boutique-type elective ultrasound place. I feel like the staff isn't trained as well. I honestly don't know if that's the case, but it worries me. I picture a teenager popping gum with a dildo cam.

Obviously it's an individual choice and I am not trying to step on anyone's toes but it is not recommended to get elective/non-necessary ultrasounds at those types of boutiques. Here is some information if anyone would like to read it: https://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancy-health/keepsake-ultrasound/
@LC12261012 if we weren’t team green I would still skip those places for the same reason I roll my eyes at people rolling up in hear asking for sex judgements. They’re not medical professionals and I don’t trust them. They may be a little more trained but it’s still not enough

Hmm, interesting. I know many women personally who have had ultrasounds done at elective places and so far they have all been correct about the sex/ no adverse effects, but of course to each their own. I didn’t do it with either of my previous pregnancies although I wanted to, so figured I might since this will be our last baby.
@LC12261012 I went to an elective ultrasound place to find out the sex of DS2 because we knew DH wasn't going to be able to be at the anatomy scan and we wanted to find out together. I had a lovely experience, they were super nice and the bed was hella comfortable. The second she put the wand on my belly she said "It's a boy!" haha he was spread eagle waiting for it.
@calimom2524 HAHAHA! DS did the same thing at the anatomy scan! My ultrasound tech said that she's seen most boys show off and girls are more shy. I told DH that even if we were trying to be team green we would have found out that day because DS kept showing off...
I’ve done elective 3D ultrasound before, but not for medical or sex related purposes. Just to see what DS looked like! It was the creepiest but coolest thing ever.
@calimom2524 Don’t judge but Fall Out Boy! I’ve loved them since high school and seen them way too many times but it’s always so much fun!
there are actually several shows I’m going to miss out on and I’m bummed about, one being Bon Jovi lol
Girrrrrrrl they're from a couple towns over where I grew up and we used to hang out with them in the garage when they were a garage band. I LOVE them! I still have the original shirts they made (Fall Out Boy is for Lovers with the shape of the state of Illinois) with all of their signatures on it. We used to joke "I'm going to keep this for when you're famous!" and now they are haha.

I have a lovers shirt too!! I was too cheap to buy it at the show so it doesn’t have the tour dates on it which makes me sad, andplusalso it would fit my toddler and definitely not me. Andy is from my side of town! I’ve met them a bunch of times but not cool like hanging out with them lol

Haha yeah mine is now part of my tshirt quilt because I was around 90 pounds in high school when I got it...add 100 to that now. I've also taken shots with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus lol. So random.
@calimom2524 You've been so much more productive than I have! I've barely left the couch.
I just took a nap hoping to be free of this headache, but it's only worse. I'm really hoping to go skate later, but at this rate I'll be lucky to leave the house.
Me:32 DH:45 DSD: 20 DSS: 18 Team green baby due: Aug 6th, 2018
the only time my favorite band is band is coming Near me on their tour is two weeks after my DD and that’s not happening. I just want to go so bad!
Why can you not go? Leaving the house for a few hours isn’t a horrible thing. Who made the rule that when you have a newborn you have to be a hermit crab? Is it due to lack of a babysitter?

Haha well to be fair I did it all at work so I was getting paid for it. My motivation was majorly lacking too, it took me 2 days to build the desk and I kept stopping to eat and/or bump.

I forget if you’ve had a baby or not?
Two weeks postpartum is not a time I will want to be on my feet for hours, or in a car for hours, or away from a newborn that we will still be establishing a nursing relationship with.
You dont have to be to be a hermit crab but a concert is not a quick trip to be away. I’m in Milwaukee and the concert is in Chicago. Even if is was in Milwaukee I probably wouldn’t go because my body was still wrecked and my sleep was so wrecked and everything is just too unpredictable for that point in time

I'm jealous, I finally feel good again and my husband never wants to do anything! Also maybe this is a confession, but I would totally eat a medium (or even med rare) steak at a nice steakhouse.

@ssthomps you also never know when the baby will actually come. DS was 12 days late so if I had something planned 2 weeks after my due date I would actually only be 2 days postpartum.
My kiddo woke up with a drippy nose and ended up coming down with a fever so we went over to my moms house to hang out and both kids fell asleep in the car on the way home so I’m just sitting in my car so they can get a little more nap time in. Only problem is I’m STARVING and my left over Chinese from last night is calling my name. Debating how long I should let them sleep because the sick kiddo definitely needs the rest but mama needs to eat lol. Oh and on the plus side I found out this morning my disability definitely got approved! Yay!
@jsnakehole - If it's a reputable place I've always ordered my steak however I wanted. Usually medium rare because I can't do well done meat.
@calimom2524 Yay for motivation! Pass some of that along, please!
@hardlyhannah - I'm with ya - 2 weeks PP and I didn't want to leave the house for more than about 30 min to run to Target. Mostly I was afraid I would bleed / sweat / leak through what I was wearing! PP life is glamorous, amiright?
AFM I'm heading home in 45 min and honestly don't have enough work to keep me occupied even for that long! I did break down and made myself an appointment at the Walgreens clinic though - since having the flu I haven't been able to kick the congestion / horrible cough. I think it's worked its way into a little upper respiratory infection. Ugh. So fx some antibiotics clear it up!
I mean, you totally could go to a concert at 2 weeks postpartum, but you would have to pump, probably bring a peri bottle with you, store the milk you pumped, etc. definitely more trouble than it’s worth. I wouldn’t do it.
If he wants to go, I may indulge in a medium filet mignon. This is one of the most famous steakhouses in NYC, so I feel like they're meat is good quality meat. And I may have looked at the menu and picked out my entire meal from appetizers to dessert already, so he should really take me tomorrow.

That makes sense, you actually have to travel to the venue. We have two venues by us and they are a 15 -20 minute drive. I have a four year old. The only reason I wouldn’t be able to be gone for a long period of time that early, is because I nurse and we don’t introduce a bottle until after a few months. If that wasn the case I would definitely go. Where I live people are very superstitious and believe the mother can’t leave the house for the first 30 days. It is crazy, I would go stir crazy. Hopefully they will come back in the next year or so. I am definitley a concert goer and it is something that DH and I do often. I get when a good concert is coming to town and you have to miss it.
@cthulu the clear dripping nose is a dead giveaway a fever is on it's way. I've learned way too many FTM sick kid signs these last few months. Fx the rest heals him super quick. Happy dance you were approved! That has got to be a relief. I know what it's like to worry about finances. I'm currently a SAHM fighting a former employer of almost 9 years for unemployment benefits. Stressful but the end is in sight. Edit: fat finger premature post
@ssthomps 30 days? Oh, hell no. What about grocery shopping? Outside of cold and flu season, I say take the baby with you everywhere. I mean, you could technically take a baby to a concert if they wore those noise cancelling earmuffs, but you would probably get some side eye
