Re: Symptoms 12/22

  • Had some bright pink spotting that scared the shit out of me today. Had an us, and everything looks ok. I didn't have this with my first, and it's been making me extremely nervous. Other than that just ditto to t
being tired, and really uneasy/nauseous all day. Small, frequent meals definitely help. I'm not into drinking fluids lately either.
  • Loading the player...
  • @7425cait Ditto on the fluids. I am drinking a fraction of the water I used to, but I just literally cannot even think about drinking anything. I hope that goes away soon! Sorry for your spotting scare. Hopefully it won't happen again!

I didn't have a lot of heartburn with DD, and she came out with so much hair that the nurse combed it into a mohawk.
I had zero heartburn with my son and he came out with a ginormous head of hair too!
  • I am in the stm camp of being more tired this time around...chasing a 3 years old ninja warrioris no joke lol

I was feeling very nauseated in and off and cramping...but all of a sudden it's all gone away.  Which oddly,  makes me extremely nervous.  I'm only 5 weeks and change. ..
  • I’m experiencing off and on nausea during the day, mostly in the afternoon and evening. It is so much harder now being preggers with an almost 3 year old! It’s like he knows I’m exhausted but doesn’t like it so is demanding extra attention and testing limits big time! I am having headaches, back achiness, and lots of pressure in my uterus. Smells are so intense, too. I feel like pregnant women should be used to sniff out illegal drugs lol! I told my husband to stop wearing his cologne bc it makes me nauseated.
  • Morning sickness hit this morning. I'm making chili for dh, my aunt, and uncle today and the smell makes me feel so nauseated

  • I've been MIA because this morning sickness is real. Omg. It's not just morning, it's 24 hours a day. The only time I'm not sick is when I'm asleep.
  • My nausea hasn’t been quite as bad the past few days. That’s great, but I just ordered a ton of ginger candy....

  • I just had a make me almost vomit aversion to my favorite food in the world, sharp cheddar cheese sticks...I am not ok with this :/

  • @kindbytealikat I wish there was a sad reaction instead of just love it. A life without cheddar cheese isn’t really worth living  :s

  • @kindbytealikat Noooo not cheese! I'd die.  Cheddar is 100% its own food group.
  • Oh man on the cheddar! That’s one of my few palatable foods during bad ms days - sharp cheddar and triscuits.

  • Has anyone had success with diclegis? I've been eating and drinking so little because of all day nausea.  Last night I wretched so violently I have broken blood vessels all over my cheeks and around my eyes.
  • @7425cait I told DH last night I wasn’t getting enough water. His response was that I obviously was because I’m alive and the baby is fine (insert eye roll). The only way I can drink water is to squeeze an entire lemon in it, lots of ice, and small sips. I can also drink La Croix but not sure that’s as hydrating.

Sorry you had to go through the spotting scare but I’m so glad everything looks good!
  • You guys and your cheese are giving me a craving for orange cheddar. All I usually get at the store is white cheddar, but i specifically require some orange cheddar today.

I woke up feeling hungover. Stayed up late to finish The Book of Dust (late meaning 10pm, lol) and wonder if that's it...I had a headache, could barely eat, had to get an emergency bagel and coffee on my errands today to make it through. Feeling a bit better but so tired, and my son is not sleeping so I'll probably haul him out of bed in the next few minutes...
  • @lalala2004, send it to me. Lmao
I spoke too soon. I needs it.

My nausea always gets worse in the afternoon. Why do they call it morning sickness?

  • This breast soreness fluctuating is driving me nuts. I woke up at 6 and they didn't hurt. By 10 they were sore. Now at 3, they're a little sore around the edges. It's freaking me out.

I also haven't had much cramping today. I didn't have much once I hit mid-week on week 5, but not having consistent symptoms (especially for someone who loves consistency) is freaking me out big time.

  • @coffeecocktailsandcake

yes! Do it! I took it from weeks 10- 35 with my first born. I was a MESS without it. Lost five lbs in a week before starting it. Couldn’t keep anything down and was living off of tiny bites of baby food. I was still sick on it, but was functional and in my first tri instead of puking 6 times a day was down to 1. I tried zofran and phenergan also, they didn’t work. I’m 6 weeks and starting to feel ill again, pretty sure I’ll be on it again by the end of next week.
  • Public service fyi- zofran has been linked to birth defects including heart defects. Obviously this is a conversation for each and their Drs but I know not everyone knows this information and may want to discuss it with their Drs. *not telling you not to take it,  just fyi and if you want to, talk to your doc about it

  • @coffeecocktailsandcake I'm on it now. It has helped incredibly so.
  • I second what @meeks2020 about Zofran

  • Does anyone else have itchy breasts? It is a super annoying symptom.
  • @southerngirlinwi I did during my first pregnancy, but not this time around so far.

  • My OB prescribed zofran during my last pregnancy and never discussed possible harm to the baby. I took it, it helped. Then I read about side effects to baby and I stopped. She's 3 now and so far so good, we did a fetal echo for my early use of zoloft during pregnancy. I just wish I had something safe that works.
  • Hey guys, I want to ask if anyone has had this symptom. I'm going to preface this with a TMI warning.. It's gross haha

So, I think being pregnant is giving me food intolerances. I had a glass of milk and it gave me severe diarrhoea, then 2 days later (last night) I had some pizza. It made me feel awful so I stopped eating it but this morning I have had the WORST diarrhoea. I'm actually afraid to leave the house...

Is this something normal?? And apart from attempting to avoid dairy and greasy foods is there anything I can do?
I'm basically living off plain green salad and bread at the moment :(

  • @junabugtunabug zofran is really great with morning sickness, but a lot of doctors don't tell about the risks of birth defects associated with it. It doesn't happen every time someone uses it in first tri. But it is pretty frequent and has been labeled a direct link, that's why I mention it here, so people who didn't know can talk to their doctors and see if it is the best option for them (and for them it may be, just trying to raise some awareness and get the conversation going between the person and their doctor)

  • All of this talk of cheese makes me wish I didn’t have an intolerance to dairy! I just realized it 2 years ago, and man do I miss cheese! It was a main craving with DS, so we will see how this time around goes!

Im due end of August, so right now headaches, mild cramps and exhaustion are my main symptoms. I didn’t have ms last time, just nausea, and a part of me is terrified that it’ll get me this time!

  • @tops-2 I have DEFINITELY heard of that happening, specifically with dairy during pregnancy. Sucks!!!!!

  • Getting waves of nausea. Not sure if it’s MS or not. We have all had a colds since the end of October. So who knows! I’m like 6 weeks and change depending.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @SmashJam I always buy white cheddar too. But my DD requested orange cheddar last week, and now she refuses to eat it. So I have some haha

I don’t have MS yet. I did with DD slightly from 8-13 weeks, and I didn’t with my DS at all. I’m like 6.5 weeks so not sure if I’ll have it this time.

I’ve had a cold/cough for over 2 weeks now. I just feel rundown and exhausted. And I’m not sure if it’s pregnancy or cold related. When I get home from work each day, I’m ready for bed.
  • Definitely feeling more nausea than with DS but it's uber mild and quite infrequent.
I know I'm harping on about it but the breathlessness is really getting to be annoying. Just sitting down here on the couch and I feel like I can't breathe deeply at all!
And the discharge. Oh boy. That's a whole new experience too.

  • How much fatigue is considered typical? Ive been so worn down for the last several weeks but especially since just before the holidays. I'm usually bubbly and need to be on the go but lately I'm too tired or unmotivated to do anything at all and want to just lay around rather than push myself up and out. It makes me worried it's depression opposed to just normal pregnancy exhaustion. Is this how a lot of others are feeling?
  • I don't want to move at all, and am completely unmotivated, but for me I'm pretty sure it's just a first trimester thing. But if you're concerned, you should speak with your ob or someone.

You guys. I had to cook down spinach today, and I almost lost my breakfast. Worst smell ever. Garlic had really been turning me off too, but I'm ok with eating an everything bagel.
  • @spring2630 have you had your thyroid checked ? I was exhausted when I was pregnant with DD but this time around was a whole other level of exhaustion. During my initial blood work they found I had an underactive thyroid. I’ve been on medication for about a week now and I feel a normal level of tired now

on another note.... I thought I had bad MS with DD but it was nothing compared to what I’m going through now! 24/7 nausea, can barely keep food down. I will never complain about being pregnant but I sure do hope this passes quickly! I’m not sure how long I can keep this pregnancy a secret from work before someone guesses since my office is littered with soda crackers and ginger ale
  • When you have to yawn but can't, because breathlessness.  :(

  • I'm not peeing as much as I was...leaves me pondering why since I was peeing crazy like in the beginning. I'm almost 9 weeks and baby's heart beat was 140bpm last week soooooo.....yeah. I'm drinking water through out the day, just not peeing as much...Maybe every 2-3 hours. Any suggestions or does anyone else have this issue?
  • @nuttybrewnette I'm in the same boat. First 2-3 weeks I felt like I was going to live in the bathroom I was peeing so much. Now at 6 weeks it's almost back to pre-pregnancy normal amount, and I too, was wondering if something was different.

I'm drinking more than I did pre-pregnancy, some days I feel like I can't get enough water, and no change in diet from one day go the next to explain it. The only thing I'm really noticing is that I'm hella bloated, my loose yoga pants are tight, I've had to go up a size in my undies already, and I'm eating much less compared to before because nothing but fruit and salad sounds good. So I think instead of peeing it out, I'm becoming one with the ocean.  :s
  • @nuttybrewnette I was thinking this earlier, but since baby isn’t big enough to cause bladder runs yet, my assumption is the hormone changes at the beginning and at 9 weeks, it would seem that your HCG isn’t rising as quick as it was. I hope that makes sense.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I second what @racklerooo said. While your uterus expands in the beginning it’s not heavy enough to weigh down the bladder so it’s mostly hormones and and those start to get more stable so will your bladder until baby starts pushing it.
