is anyone worried that your families will figure out you are pregnant before you are out of the first trimester due to morning sickness at Thanksgiving? I know I am and I'm not sure what to do....
Yes! We are staying with my aunt in a house that will be packed with extended family from Wed to Sat. I am extremely worried. I have no idea how I will fake feeling good for 3 days!
We celebrate Thanksgiving with DH's family so we are letting them know that day. I wish you luck though trying to not give away any clues away and your family that know helps too.
Me: 32 DH: 34 Married 7/08 DD Born 8/09
TTC#2 Since 2/13 (Secondary IF)
2/13 thru 2/14 - Year of charting, OPK and TI
3/14 thru 7/14 - Clomid cycles, DH SA came back good
Yup...might tell my parents if the ultrasound wed goes well - but I don't know how I'll hide it at actual thanksgiving! There are 60 people coming, so no quiet corners to sneak off to and quietly battle the nausea monsters.
What's worse is two years ago someone brought a NASTY stomach bug and literally all 60 people got sick within a couple days after, so if anyone sees me looking quesy, they are bound to say something! I might have to come clean to the host and slip away for a nap in one of their bedrooms...
There is absolutely no way I could hide it, with how bad my MS has been. So we are telling. (To be fair, we'd decided to tell at Thanksgving even before the MS hit so that was just the icing on the cake!)
Planning on telling my husbands family on Thanksgiving day. Only 5 1/2 weeks along but neither of us can keep it a secret from them any longer! No morning sickness yet but don't want to explain why I'm not drinking!
I'm about 8w and we have our first dr vist next week, and we don't want to tell anyone untill after that. So thanksgiving at my in-laws is gonna be hard, I ALWAY have a glass of wine with my MIL at dinner and there about 30 other close family there too! Luckily not really having any MS, but the not drinking will be a huge give away! Good luck to everyone trying to keep it a secert!!!

I know, I've always joked with DH's family, "If I ever say no to a glass of wine you'll know I'm pregnant!" Yet another reason we are not even trying to hide it at Tgiving!
I honestly think that most people wouldn't notice. I've been using the I'm on tablets (can't drink) because I've had an upset tummy (dr doesn't know why) so I've got to eat bland food, eliminate xyz to see what's wrong and be careful what I'm eating. It's been going on for weeks and no one is any the wiser. Although I am more tummy upset than MS. One lady who I don't know when I refused a drink said "oooo are you pregnant". I just said no, I have no chauffeur this evening and that was the end of it.
I'm worried people will ask me why I'm not drinking wine... Not that I'm a wino, but I love wine and my dad always gets the beaujolais nouveau for Thanksgiving dinner every year. I don't want to tell anyone until after I have an ultrasound (which isn't until December)

I always (normally) drink the Beaujolais Nouveau for Thanksgiving too.
I'm the only red wine drinker in my family, so last year (I was pregnant but ended up having a m/c) I poured nonalcoholic wine into a wine bottle and thought that was the perfect plan. But at the last minute we found out one of husband's colleague's was going to be home by himself, so we invited him. We hadn't even thought about the "fake" wine, until he asked for a glass of red. My H and I looked at each other like, "WTF do we do?" So I poured him a glass, he had a sip, grimaced (the nonalcoholic wine tastes like funky grape juice), and didn't have any more. We were so embarrassed!
We havent decided but may make the announcement on Thanksgiving. I am not sure how I could pass the not drinking thing off, and I feel like we would want the support if anything bad happened.
I'm so torn. My DH's family will be over at our house for Thanksgiving and visiting through Saturday. I'm doing pretty good as far as few noticeable symptoms, and they aren't drinkers so I can probably get away with hiding it. I just don't want to! That being said, I want to tell my family in person and I won't see them until Christmas...so I can't tell his and then wait a month to tell mine. Best plan is just to wait until Christmas.
Unless of course I blurt it out to my mom over the phone between now and then, which I've almost done a million times.
If you're looking around wondering where everyone is, PM me.
I've been so sick lately that we knew I couldn't hide it for Thanksgiving, so we told all the family members that will be there. It takes the pressure off of trying to hide it.
We are going over Dh family house and I can fake it Im not a big drinker so that part is okay but my poop baby is my concern Im very slim and my stomach is flat so I think all that gutt will raise some eyebrows especially after I eat. On top of that Dh told our little ones and they are just over the moon about the new baby that's all they talk about. So they might make the announcement for us and then comments will follow than I will have a drink...
Re: Nervous about family finding out about pregnancy over thanksgiving?
Just start to come down with "the thing going around work" the day before. If anyone asks, just say your are just feeling off.

My family not being supportive makes it worse so I'm just insanely nervous.

Even bigger gasp: I bought myself a bottle of wine last night so I could do the same as I feel like it.
