Yeah ladies! Grow follies grow! Did anyone have med adjustments? Sounds like Monday is next monitoring day for some.
@hoffmanr7 sounds like you’ll be triggering on Monday! Ahh so soon! All very exciting.
@kiwi2628 did your protocol change much from your previous cycles? Wonder what you might attribute your increase in follicle count to.
@efavell02 did I remember, was your AFC 18 or 19? So are today’s numbers pretty similar? Hope righty catches up
@halfanewt so glad you got the courage to speak up. I get so much anxiety trying to advocate for myself once I’m in the doctors office. Sounds like you got some plump ones already. Keep us posted on the b/w results.
@northbeach3 yeah my afc was 18 (11 L and 7 R). And today there was 15+5. I’m not really expecting the right to catch up much, since during iui they could never get it to produce more than 1 or 2, whereas the left always had 4 or 5. So I’m ok with it But hopefully they all just keep progressing at the same rate and we get a bunch!

You guys, I just got a call from my clinic and I feel so discouraged. They said while it’s not unusual to have nothing measureable on day 5, my estrogen is lower than they want at 109. They are doubling my Menopur to two vials and upping the follistim from 225 to 300. I was feeling so good before and now I feel so disappointed... I just went to the pharmacy for more meds this morning and now I have to go back tmrw for more. Just needed to vent.

@efavell02 I felt the exact same way. My estrogen was low as well after 4 days of stims. They had to bump up my meds to two vials of Menopur and 450 units of Gonal F. With the bump in meds it went from 44 to 190 to over 500 today. I got to see my doctor today and she said she still feels good about everything I just got a slow start. I was so bummed when I had to order more meds. My office has been great though and provided me with Gonal and Menopur. I have enough to get me through the weekend and if I still need it after my Monday appointment with will give me more so I don't have to pay for a refill.
RE thinks maybe Wednesday or Friday for my ER. Even though it would mean more meds, I kind of hope it's Friday. This way I can take the weekend and relax after. Follicles were between 6-12 today. Two new ones popped up on my right side. I doubt they will mature though. When does everyone trigger? I know with my IUIs they triggered when I was about 18 or 20....I keep forgetting to ask during my ultrasounds.
@hoffmanr7 Yay, almost at trigger!!!! You're in the home stretch!!!
@kiwi2628 Amazing update! So, so, happy it looks like the MDL protocol is just what your ovaries needed!
@efavell02 I know it's hard not to get discouraged, but it's still early on in the stimming process so there is still time. FX the bump in meds jump starts your ovaries!
@halfanewt Sounds like you have some good growth! Awesome!
@kristimh80 Woohoo! The train has left the station! So exciting to get started
@J1006 You're getting close to trigger too! FX your ovaries give one last big push!

@hoffmanr7 yay for your follies! So exciting that Wednesday may be the day! @halfanewt I would expect with some at 17 you will probably trigger either tomorrow or Monday at the latest @efavell02 dont get too discouraged! Your follies are all still fairly small so estrogen can be low. I would say about half the people I see doing IVF get their dosages upped at some point, so try not to stress to much! You have great follie numbers and the sizes are all fairly similar, so its mostly good! @kristimh80 yay for AF! Good luck at your baseline! @northbeach3 it did. I am on a microdose lupron protocol this time, while last cycle I was on an estrogen priming antagonist protocol
@J1006 That's awesome your office is helping out with meds! Hopefully, next week you won't need any more!
Thanks @kiwi2628 and @tosh24! I wish I was farther along with you guys! Guess someone needs to hold up the end of January

January IVF for me too! I just started my morning and evening injections today. I’m pretty nervous about all that goes into IVF. I’m hoping I remember to do everything at the right times. Alarms on my phone are set. I’m excited to hear more about how everyone is feeling as we go through this process.
Thank you @kiwi2628 I’ve calmed down somewhat from before. And I feel ok now. Thanks to everyone for their kind words. So glad things are progressing for everyone

@efavell02 glad you’ve been able to reappraise the situation. Weren’t you the one who gave the example of being positive neutral? The positive is that it’s still early enough to adjust your meds! I also have to admit that I didn’t know what our estrogen levels should look like st this stage. It seems like a crazy balance between shooting up to confirm follicle growth but not too high or else OHSS kicks in. Those are hard boundaries to achieve! When’s your next monitoring appt?
cant wait for today’s update @halfanewt! My gut tells me your getting close for trigger!!
In in fact this is likely the big week for everyone! AFM, only one more sleep until my first monitoring, finally. Definitely feeling more “full”. Ready to ask questions about my follow sizes and e2 levels.

@northbeach3 yeah, I'm glad they are upping the meds early on. I think it will be fine, hopefully, since I have a high follicle count. A friend of mine who went through IVF with a low AMH and low follicle count, but got her BFP, said "they can make you make more estrogen, they can't make you make more eggs, so you're good" haha. I'm sure the higher does will make them start growing more. Next monitoring is Monday (tomorrow) morning.
@efavell02 Yes I’ve been pretty nervous to start, and have had trouble sleeping at night thinking about it all. Hopefully now that I’ve started I’ll be a little less nervous about it all. I think the scariest part to me is the egg retrieval. It is definitely nice to have people to talk to through the process. I haven’t shared with anyone but my parents that we are even doing IVF. Thank you for making me feel welcome. I hope I can also provide some support to everyone else on this IVF journey.
@efavell02 Yes! I think just starting BC this morning, I was like holy smokes...no turning back now! lol

Ugh. Just had to decide if I want to trigger tonight with possible fewer eggs (but less OHSS risk + fresh transfer) or do one more day of stims (but more likely frozen transfer/higher OHSS risk). That was fun.
Decided to wait a day, playing HCG vs Lupron trigger by ear depending on tomorrow’s estrogen and follie count.

@marfi236 yay, so glad you were able to make it to see your grandma and that your cycle cooperated... now to get it back up to speed!
@halfanewt oh man, that would be tough to have them give you that option, but as kristin said, the possibility of more and better eggs increases your odds/options. hopefully the added day helps and you still stave off OHSS!
for those of you starting stims very soon, best of luck in reviewing your med protocols. i have to say, taking the evening to get all the syringes and needles organized and labeled really helped and gave me some peace of mind/got me into a better head space. i felt like the first 6 days flew by... but then when I went to do my evening gonal F shot today, I saw that a small bruise/hematoma had developed from my morning cetrotide shot. Won waah. I thought i'd been doing pretty well with no visible signs of the shots on my tummy. well, beauty is pain!
14.5 hours until first monitoring... on pins and needles!
@marfi236 glad you were able to make it back to see your gran
@halfanewt I'm sorry you had to make that kind of decision. Keeping my fx for you.
Question for the ladies stimming right now........are you noticing an increase in your CM? I feel like I've had a copious amount of CM the last couple of days.
Hello all. I am new here. Started stims on Dec 31 - Follistim and Menopur. My last u/s (on Saturday) showed 5 follicles in each ovary, but 1 was much larger than the others. I’m going back for another u/s tomorrow and I’m hoping that an increase in the meds will have helped things along. I thought this would be the easy part. Now I’m concerned that things won’t develop enough for us to make it to ER. anyway, thanks for listening. Just needed to share and see if anyone else has had this same issue. Good luck to everyone!
@northbeach3 Will be thinking of you tomorrow! Hopefully everything is progressing well! I remember my last go with follistim I had bruising as well. Thank goodness for ice packs!

@efavell02 I asked flat out “if you were me..” this is what she said she’d do, too, but that she didn’t want to make the call because of the fresh transfer vs. OHSS side of things. I definitely appreciated her honesty.
@hoffmanr7 yes. Last time and this time stimming there is a ton of CM, which makes sense, seeing as CM is promoted by estrogen and, well, we are making a hell of a lot of it.
This AM I am currently playing the game of 'what is that twinge?' Is it my left ovary? Is it gas? WHO KNOWS? lol
@halfanewt It's a tough decision to make but you really, really, don't want to transfer and risk severe OHSS. I didn't do an HCG trigger because of my OHSS risk and had to freeze all. My estrogen level on the day of trigger was just under 5000. I would have made the same decision - stim one more day and have to do a potential freeze all. I'm actually a bit relieved that I get to just relax and let my body heal and get back to normal without adding the stress of a TWW in there.
@hoffmanr7 YES! tons of CM....like ridiculous amounts. It's all the estrogen pumping through your veins

@kiwi2628 I LOL'd so hard when I read your post. That is EXACTLY how I feel right now. While we were waiting for the US tech to come in this morning I told DH that I couldn't tell if I had to poop, had gas, or it was just my ovaries.
US went good. Definitely super close, will trigger either tonight or tomorrow once they see the results from my labs.
@hoffmanr7 Yay for a great ultrasound and being close to trigger!!! I know you were stressing about coverage at work around ER time. Were you able to get it sorted out? I hope you can take the rest of the week off after your ER. It's really nice to be able to just rest and recoup.
I'm copying and pasting below from the December IVF thread because my head is spinning and I can't type lol:
I just got my freeze report from the lab - I have 10 SNOWBABIES!!!!!! TEN!!!!!! When I started this process I was hoping for a total of 3-5 embryos to have for a fresh and subsequent frozen transfers. Ten is beyond my wildest dreams. I am ECSTATIC!!!! 50% of the ICSI fertilized eggs made it from day 3 to freeze, while 100% of the natural fertilized eggs made it. We will likely use the natural fert embryos first, especially since we're not doing PGS testing. Hopefully the fact that we had 100% retention and that they are graded well means there is more of a chance of them being normal. All of the embies are 3 and 4 AB grade, which I was told my RE will go through in detail with me at my appointment on Thursday, but that the quality of all the embryos is really good and the lab is very pleased with them. Man, I really hope there is at least one take home baby for me in that 10 - and if the universe wanted to give me more than one take home baby, I'd be OK with that too!

@beachbunnyxo123 , If it helps, I took my med list to CVS, and asked to speak to a pharmacist. I wasn't sure which needles went to which, so she spelled out what needles would be best for each med, and the ones I was missing she gave me... didn't even charge me.

TTC Naturally, possibly IUIs for remainder of 2018. ER#2 ~Jan 2019
Hi all, I must admit to being lurking here for a few days, I wasn't sure I should join as I won't be stimming until late January (AF due on 15th Jan but nearly always 7-10 days late), but I see now I will have company (hi @kristimh80@shortstack930@laurengon82 !!) so I'll give a quick hello and wish the best of luck to those of you already stimming
This is my second IVF cycle and it will be frozen transfer as I had bad OHSS last time - (@halfanewt please don't fret if extra stimming leads to FET - I agree with everyone else that you made the best choice ) I was ready to start last November but could not start due to personal circumstances. So, I'm having my pre-period scan this Wednesday and can start to stim once AF arrives. The doc said the plan is to push my meds much harder this time, knowing we won't do a fresh transfer; so while I'm dying to get going I'm also kinda dreading it!
I hope you don't mind me checking in on your progress - it sounds like you ladies are all doing amazing - and getting some great numbers @hoping4lilbit - I was also slow to grow follies but they shot up in the last few days - good luck with next scan! @tosh24 - 10 embies - yay - that's fantastic
I wish you all the absolute best of luck xx

@tosh24 that's unbelievable, what great news! having a squad of snowbabies definitely helps alleviate some anxiety! can't wait for your FET.
@hoffmanr7 so exciting! can you remind me what day you started your stims? or what stim day you're on for trigger? i almost feel like i need to make a little spreadsheet with everyone's start date, trigger date, etc. it's hard to keep track of
@roisis *waves* glad you came out of the shadows! you have lots of wisdom to offer since you've already been through IVF once... looking forward to following along your stim cycle later this month.
AFM, i think my u/s appointment went well... not really sure how large the follicles should be at this point.
STIM DAY 7 lining: 11 RO (AFC = 9): 10, 10, 11, 12, 12, 13 (and some 9s) LO (AFC = 5): 13, 14 (and some 9s)
Will continue to stim for next 3 days -- lowered Gonal F to 150 daily and added 75 menopur daily. next U/S on Thursday morning -- suggested Saturday or Sunday retrieval
Re: January 2018 IVF

Great updates, everyone!!!!

@J1006 glad the bump in meds worked for you! Fx for a Friday ER for you. Having the weekend after would be nice
AFM - bloodwork came back and they want to see me again tomorrow morning for another scan.
@halfanewt I would expect with some at 17 you will probably trigger either tomorrow or Monday at the latest
@efavell02 dont get too discouraged!
Thanks @kiwi2628 and @tosh24! I wish I was farther along with you guys! Guess someone needs to hold up the end of January

@halfanewt - next check is tomorrow morning.

US went good. Definitely super close, will trigger either tonight or tomorrow once they see the results from my labs.

ER#2 ~Jan 2019
This is my second IVF cycle and it will be frozen transfer as I had bad OHSS last time - (@halfanewt please don't fret if extra stimming leads to FET - I agree with everyone else that you made the best choice ) I was ready to start last November but could not start due to personal circumstances. So, I'm having my pre-period scan this Wednesday and can start to stim once AF arrives. The doc said the plan is to push my meds much harder this time, knowing we won't do a fresh transfer; so while I'm dying to get going I'm also kinda dreading it!
I hope you don't mind me checking in on your progress - it sounds like you ladies are all doing amazing - and getting some great numbers
@hoping4lilbit - I was also slow to grow follies but they shot up in the last few days - good luck with next scan!
@tosh24 - 10 embies - yay - that's fantastic

STIM DAY 7
