Rainbow Babies... post may trigger some.

Re: Rainbow Babies... post may trigger some.

  • @tgortney I missed this, hon. I am so sorry. I hope the loss is an easy one for your body, even thought I know it's not easy. You'll be missed. Be gentle with yourself, and be well. You're in my prayers, and sending you creepy internet hugs.

  • @sm05-2, I have had spotting in both (all three as of tonight  :s) pregnancies  I have had. It can be totally normal, so try to get some sleep until you see your dr in the morning.

I had a small amount of brown spotting earlier tonight also and I am trying to tell
myself that it could be totally normal (TMI alert- there was some sexual activity that occurred last night so I’m hoping that’s the cause...). Ugh PGAL brain is such a b*%%!

  • @stlmegs Sex can totally do that. I had spotting after my first US as well. Apparently anything up there can dislodge old blood. Really helpful for PGAL moms.
  • Anyone else (on Endometrin) spotting (pink/peach)?  I’m only 4w6d and I get an early u/s on Tuesday, but the wait just got a bit longer this morning.  I’m on Endometrin and get that it and the applicators can be irritating (at least according to google), but the last time I saw spotting and I was pregnant, it was at 11 and a half weeks and didn’t end well two days later.  I know there’s not much to be done (I emailed my IVF nurse who assured me it could be normal), but it is messing with my PGAL head a little bit

ugh stuck in text box. I had some pink spotting around then and I did IVF this cycle and am on endometrin. I have an ultrasound tomorrow and I’m so nervous. My betas have been:

    847
    7 days later: 4747
    5 days later: 7460

    PGAL brain is the worst.

also, does anyone else have issues with the keyboard in this app? It always autocorrects my words. Typing is so frustrating!!
  • Still in limbo. Betas were 3548 and then 5844 48h later, so they went up by 63% which is borderline for viable vs miscarriage. Hoping to get in for an US early this week to see what's going on. I just want a normal, stress free pregnancy, is that too much to ask?!

  • @comealongponds I am having the same beta crap, too. My acupuncturist said she and my doc have both seen everything and she thinks my levels look fine. Doc is a little concerned but I guess we will find out tomorrow. I also read that numbers slow significantly as they get higher. I actually think yours look pretty good- have you checked betabase? Very helpful.

I wish I didn’t even know my beta numbers  :s
fingers crossed for both of us!
  • Praying for big beta jumps for both of you. It's hard to set your mind at ease. I tried to go into this pregnancy being blindly optimistic, but it's hard. My progesterone was 2 points lower than they wanted it on my first beta, so my pio shots were increased to 150. If my numbers are fine on my recheck Monday, I am going to try and relax. Until then I am a bundle of nerves though
  • @Lelo2006 Heck yes. I know just how you feel.
  • I'm sorry for being stuck in limbo, @Lelo2006 and @comealongponds, that's the worst.

As for me, I've received some fairly positive news: my bleeding and cramping is due to a small SCH (blood clot), so I'm on pelvic rest for a couple of weeks. I'm also upping my prometrium from 200mgs a day to 300. Interestingly, this fertility doc (not my usual, but they rotate on weekends) wants me to stop taking baby aspirin. I'll do that, but I thought baby aspirin could help with this situation (she thinks the clot will resolve faster without a blood thinner). I may call my fertility office in the morning for a second opinion just to be safe, but for now I'm breathing a sigh of relief, which is so nice since I've had four previous losses.
  • Praying for amazing betas all around!!

So so glad you got good news and some answers @sm05-2!
  • Catching up! @comealongponds and @Lelo2006 praying for good betas and an end to limbo!

@sm05-2 I know I said this elsewhere but wanted to put it here: not happy for pelvic rest, but SO happy for good news!

Going back tomorrow afternoon for my follow-up US. Hoping to see a baby this time. I'll be 7w5d. I'd rather have waited until 8 weeks, but Thanksgiving.
  • @sm05-2 I had a huge SCH with my twins! It was terrifying but it reabsorbed/bled out by my 13 week ultrasound :) hoping for continued good news for you! Pic in the spoiler (I hope).

Well ladies, I am out. I started having some weird cramping/left sided pelvic pain on Tuesday, on Wednesday and Thursday it was more of slight cramping/dull ache. On Friday, the cramping continued and I started spotting in the afternoon at work. I went to the lab and had another beta drawn and it was only 423 (77 to 423 in one week). Yesterday morning I had a lot of bright red blood, which has continued through the weekend. I will go for another beta tomorrow morning and if it is less than 200 I do not have to test that again.
    End TW

I wish you all a happy, healthy, and boring 9 months!

  • I am expecting our rainbow baby. We suffered a miscarriage in Feb of 2016 and although few knew about it, I always think about what if it hadnt happened. This little one has been hoped and prayed for for a very long time. Even our 2 boys have been asking for a little sibling, a sister specifically. We are hopeful that this little one will stay sticky and will be the final addition to our family.

    ***TW***

Looks like I’ll most likely be joining you though. :( My spotting turned into a full-blown period last night (sorry for TMI, complete with all the usual cramps and clots).  I guess we ended up on the other side of the 67% or so for PGS normal embryos.  It all feels like such a numbers game/gamble and we seem to have the worst luck :(  So tomorrow’s appointment will have a new objective and we’ll schedule a WTF appointment with the RE.  I guess I’m grateful we didn’t lose two and a half months like with our last loss, but this was supposed to be our best shot so it’s really disappointing.  :(

I wish the rest of you a happy and healthy 9 months!

  • Thanks @stlmegs. But I have a lame update.

The PA was able to see me a day early and I apparently still have a sac and even a yolk sac (I’m just 5w2d).  Still don’t know from where the bleeding is coming (maybe cervix?).  It’d almost be more comforting if they’d found an SCH, but for now, I still appear to be pregnant. I hope the bleeding stops soon.  This is all such a head trip.

Wow!!! Early pregnancy is such an emotional rollercoaster and mind %&!}. I am having some weird light brown spotting that has me weirded out but my dr seems unconcerned for now. My PGAL brain is assuming the worst, even though i really probably shouldn’t.

  • Ughhh @artemis618. I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's so freaking hard. I've read tons of stories like yours, though, that ended up positively. Did you get HCG levels drawn?

I had really bad spotting with my son who is now 4 years old. I was absolutely certain I was miscarrying. He was totally fine, though (other than being a crazy wild child), and I'm hoping for the same outcome for you.

IVF/FET/PGS is such a freaking head trip. I'm available to chat any time you need support from a fellow IVF mom. xoxox

  • @artemis618 wow!! I hope things continue looking up! Do you have a follow up scan?

Today I am exactly as pregnant as I was when I had an ultrasound that showed "No signs of pregnancy - either I was never pregnant (despite it being Dr. confirmed) or I had already passed everything"...   Today I am spotting.  Total mind f@#$.

    Edited for language
  • @artemis618 I am glad you got better news.  Praying things keep looking up for you :)
  • @artemis618 I'm crying for you; I so don't want you to go! I don't want you to have loss, of course, but you will be so missed. I hope we hear good news from you tomorrow, but if not I won't blame you at all if you don't update. I'm praying for you, lady. Whatever happens I wish you health and a peace that surpasses understanding.
  • Thanks so much @stlmegs @Lelo2006 @acunamatada @Crystal321 @christycalifornia

My first ultrasound was previously scheduled for tomorrow, but we saw what we were going to see today, so my next one’s not till next Tuesday morning (barring any major disaster).  The PA said I could come in earlier if I’m concerned, and she was really nice about giving us lots of extra pics (considering there’s not much to see at this point!).  No beta as I guess seeing the sac on ultrasound is more compelling?  I’m on activity restriction though till the bleeding stops.

Sorry for the false alarm, but l was freaking out.  I really feel like it’s CD1 with all the cramps and light flow...

  • @artemis618 no need to apologize! Anyone in that position would be worried. I'm glad they saw the sac! I am surprised they're not doing betas to compare though, maybe they're not that worried?
I hope your bleeding stops soon and you can relax a bit before your next u/s- I know what a pain that wait is.
  • I haven't been as active in this thread as I'd like to be, but just jumping in to let you know I'm crossing all my fingers and toes and limbs for you @artemis618
  • @artemis618 Hoping for continued good news and I'm so sorry you are going through this! and I hope my experience can give you some hope. I just wanted to let you know that I too do FET's with PGS embryos and with my first pregnancy I had a VERY substantial bleed and my HCG level even dropped and I thought I was for sure out, but low and behold our sweet boy (who is now 2) was perfectly fine. It was determined to be a miscarriage of one of what would have been twins (still horrible but we did get 1 baby out of the deal). I am hopeful your sweet baby will hang on!
  • Hey y'all! New here. I had a m/c last year at 10.5 weeks.  I'm surprised that my doc has not yet done any blood draws, and I'm 8 weeks today. We did have an u/s for dating purposes at 6w3 days and we saw a HB of 124.  We did see a HB last time at 8 weeks as well.  There was no real explanation for my last lost.  FX for all of you, and many blessings to all of your angel babies.
