Anyone doing IVF in July/August?

I'm kinda bummed at the moment, trying to shake it off before work... Xpost from TTGP IF/Testing:

I had my morning monitoring and second part of trigger - the doctor said when I pressed a bit, we should get 5 mature, hopefully more.

5??????  We had 10 last time!  And only ended up with 3 to freeze.  I sure hope we get more than 5 mature, bc at that rate, we might MAYBE just get one or two more out of an entire second cycle????  I mean don't get me wrong, 4 or 5 frosties to try would be 100% miraculous!!  And really 5-7 is about what I think we would feel comfortable with in terms of eventually transferring them all.  I guess I was just assuming this cycle would be about the same or better than the first one, not worse.  <img alt="" src="https://forums.thebump.com/resources/emoji/confused.png" height="20"> i.e. 6-7 total.  So anyway, just trying not to let it get me down too much, bc the truth is she really doesn't know, and we'll find out whenever we get the fert report.  I can't remember if it was later that same day? Or the next?  But it's gonna be what its gonna be, and we'll find out soon enough...

@BusinessWife - Maybe the doctor is being conservative? I think there is still hope you will get more than 5 mature eggs. I think I got my fert report the day after.

I'm planning to announce to the in laws at Christmas, when we see them, and to my mom hopefully before Thanksgiving. I see my mom almost every weekend so it's hard not to drop the news early.

@tinjp78 - I agree, it is much easier this way to keep IVF between me and my husband. I don't think I can handle them questioning my choice about it and stuff.

I feel like I was MIA for a week even though it was a couple of days, have been celebrating the Jewish new year.  It doesn't seem many celebrate BUT still asked for a good sweet year for us all with healthy miracle babies!!!

Looking at ur numbers I actually thought they sounded more promising then last time BUT each place measures differently too!

@helloworld9 Beta is wed and I'm so nervous everyday.  It was the holidays so u feel like g-d has to hear u and all is well in the world!!  Love that everything is going smoothly as it should, let it continue!!!

@safire3 looks like u could've went sooner after all is said and done but glad ur going with ur gut and choosing what u feel is best!!

As for when to tell the parents?!! I kno it's a scary choice for sure! Especially with extra opinions.  I chose not to tell my mom as I didn't want her to worry.  I couldn't wait to tell her when it worked! *** *** TW 10 wks MC at her house and had to go to the hospital, it was a mini labor awful. I told her 20 min prior as I was just so exhausted she thought I was really sick and was worrying about that.  So I told her.  It will always kill me that she didn't get to experience any real joy with me no matter how short lived.  Now she knows it all and still worry all the same but is praying and doing everything in her power so I can have success***TW Everyone's family's r different and u kno what's best.  My moms main concern is still me and she hates that I did so many cycles as who knows what these meds could be doing to our bodies.  Hoping everyone will have good news to share soon enough!!!

AFM: I'm hella nervous!!! Being preggers with twins I did feel something so I just keep waiting for similar action.  I will say I think I'm now have some type of reaction to the crinone as I feel like it's irritating my insides UGH!!! Not sure what to do

I took a shower and just ran cold water to try and get relief for my vag.  I would like to think the pain from this is taking my mind off other symptoms i'm having!!  I was pretty nauseous this am actually and know its too soon, 6 wks to the day is when that started with twins.  I keep reminding myself its one so its ok if i'm not feeling the same things prior.  I actually thought my boobs felt a tad sore for a sec and got excited...talk about grasping at straws   

My BW came back with E2 at 617 and Prog at 8.1 so i was switching to PIO every to other day anyway.  They say these numbers mean nothing and I dont have anything else to compare it to.

@Hopeful_mom your beta is Wednesday already? Are you planning to test before or just wait it out? I have everything crossed for you and I'm hoping this is the year you get your take home baby as well!

@BusinessWife I'm sure the doc was just trying not to get your hopes up. I hope you get a lot more than that tomorrow. I think fert report will be the day after. Tomorrow they will just tell you how many they got. GL tomorrow!

@BusinessWife It might be they are being conservative, also again they are probably telling you about the ones they think are mature. They usually find some more once they start aspirating the follicles. But sometimes if you have fewer eggs they can be higher quality, so either way you're still looking good!
@Hopeful_mom I am so anticipating your beta day. Sorry you have to go pio, but they say it's the best, and for some reason they just want that progesterone higher on these medicated cycles. Tw.... in early pg you do get those symptoms here and there, right??  I def had some instances of  nausea and other stuff here and there. Of course not the soul crushing ms i had for my preg that lasted 10 weeks. I think if you are feeling symptoms it's a really good sign! You can't blame them on high progesterone from the supplements since your prog isn't high! 
Afm just chillin and slowly feeling better. I've been trying not to focus so much on living each moment as waiting to be in my next cycle. It's nice to forget for a few hours that I'm infertile... lol!
tmi: it's nice to have non procreation sex with my husband! Lol

dragonette505 haaaaaaa!  so true!!! one of the many reasons I love this board YOU!!  Thanks for that reminder maybe its real symptoms  Just took another shower to put out the fire that is known as my vag...just praying its hurting me and not my pnut!!!
Its amazing they say you can have sex after 5 days really with all this crap my darling is not touching me!  He didn't touch me the first time either so I'm not that concerned!
Enjoy some hours of normalcy - its so few and far between!!

@Hopeful_mom my docs don't let you have sex till  after af so he was sooooo happy I finally felt good enough (4 days into this cycle) to do it! Lolol for my transfer cycle he didn't get to touch me either. Lol nope!!!! We also were given the instructions no sex till after beta, but even without that I'd have not let him!

AFM: Was up at 7a in pain and first fell bac asleep a few hours later...I literally want to rip my vag off!!  I heard bac from my RE and he agrees I'm having a reaction to the crinone (my vag is very sensitive..I"m rare I"m sure anyone else taking it will be fine!!) and I think for now will switch to just PIO and see how that goes.  We already know my butt will not thank me but it is what it is...this is killing me to no end.  The only good thing is he reminded me this can't hurt my pnut just me...so that makes me feel a lil better.

To be fair, she said we could expect 5 <i>mature</i>, so that part remains to be seen... :/  last time we went from 18 to 10 mature tho, so if we <i>do</i> get similar, like 10-12 mature this time, I will be so dam happy to give that doc and her wacky measurements a big ole cosmic BOO-yah!!!   :D

@Hopeful_mom  yeah, we are 100% ICSI, all day, errday. That's just how we roll. ;)  sorry you want to rip your vag out.  That doesn't exactly sound like a good time to me.  :s Fx the PIO will have you back in business.  FWIW, my nurse said they just get better results with PIO so they don't do any of the suppository type stuff... yay?  (((Hugs))) excited for better and better news each day.... ❤

@Hopeful_mom If it makes you feel any better, I really had no symptoms prior to my BFP except for some residual bloating from the retrieval. FX for your beta on Wednesday!! Are you going to test early?

ReesaAnne16 funny i was just lurking on a PIAF board wishful thinking  and was thinking about u!  Hope you had a nice time away!  And that does make me feel better, with my vag being on fire its hard to concentrate on anything else   I have a feeling I will test the day prior or day of...I've been in so much pain and chickened out

This stuff is just such a rollercoaster... ugh.  Over it! Lol. If look at the measurements from the day prior, we had 5+6 in the 15-19 range, so I am going to stick with that and hope we get a decent turnout!  Eep!  I have to work all day tomorrow but not till 9AM, so fx I can find out prior to work starting so I dont have to stalk my phone all day for the voicemail lol

I hope you guys are all totally right.  Maybe I should never have even given what she said a second thought, but it's so hard not to when it's all so close to your heart. :/

AFM, no more spotting! Yay! I'm still wondering what  that was all about? Hmmm Anyway, I restart my nasal spray on Oct 1. DH will take a day off from work on Oct 2. He said that if ever something happens, like if I get some strange reaction from the spray, he'd have to bring me to the hospital. huh? Wait a moment??! What could go wrong? I asked him. I already took that spray last month and I didn't have any reaction that made me consider going to the hospital. Oh well, he can take off whenever he wants, he deserves it.

@Hopeful_mom Ugh that sounds horrible with the crinone. I'm so glad your RE agrees it's a reaction and is taking you off it, even if you have to do PIO. That will still definitely be better, I think. I can't wait for your beta results. FX for you!

@BusinessWife I really know nothing, but I agree with everyone else that 5 seemed like a lowball. I hope you get some really great news today!

I'm kind of annoyed with myself for not testing sooner now to see whats going on with me.  I do an ovulation test and an hpt as thats what i did the last time and it worked...not so much for me today  I have a friend that made it black and white or whatever that trick is and she swears she sees something...for 7tpt I think it should be there BUT I'm taking my own advice and will try to still have some hope...

I keep wondering if all my vag issues did not help the situation!!  And I still want to itch her off but at least the burning isn't as consistent...the pain is unreal!!!

@hopeful_mom 7dp5dt is right on the cusp of being too soon to count yourself out. I'm guessing your beta is Wednesday? If you are already testing, why not test tomorrow and beta day? That way you can see if the line is getting darker. I'm going to keep having a good feeling about this transfer of yours!!!

@hopeful_mom I have lots of positive thoughts for you, and I'll agree with @dragonette505 that it's probably just too early. Good luck!! AFM my SHG was clear, consent paperwork is signed, meds are ready for pickup, so just need to pay and get through the next few weeks so we can start the FET cycle.

So we got some news, but it's a little mixed?

Of the 21 collected, 17 were mature!!!
7 were fertilized and we will find out how they fared on Saturday.

Another 9 were fertilized with ICSI... But are being "watched," I guess to see if they take?  What I don't know about Embriology is a lot.  So if anyone has any insight, I am all ears.

Super happy about the 7 to see how they do!  I don't honestly have the highest hopes for the other 9, but we'll see.  I know DH is going to start to get anxious about having "too many" to eventually go back for all the eSETs, but I told him we still don't even know how many will survive the week,  :'( so we just have to cross that bridge if we come to it.  It still may turn out to be a moot point, and only time will tell...

@BusinessWife I was just stalking you for this report! So I'm guessing they did half natural fert and half icsi or something like that? My 8th embie last cycle was a late fert so it can happen... My guess is they will let you know tomorrow if any more fertilize and begin to develop. 7 is awesome so any extras will just be extra awesome!!

@BusinessWife we are 100% icsi too...takes out the guesswork (usually!)I know in some cases the eggs are *almost* mature and they watch them to see if they will fully mature. I don't know how long that takes (some hours, though) so maybe after that they icsi'd them so it just makes them behind they others.

7 is great and 9 more is fantastic!! Basically it's possible that a few more can fertilize a Lil later and join the party, they're a Lil shy with their new boyfriends apparently  . Let the magic begin, tell DH to not stress just yet!  It's out of ur hands,.... pot calling the kettle I know

I know nothing about this, but I'd think there's at least a good possibility you'll get a few more. Odds seem in your favor. So happy for you! this site is acting crazy huh!!!  since last night!!!

I stopped the crinone 4 days ago and i still want to rip my vag off, i can't!!  And lets add that i look like i just went through puberty with a scratchy throat to add into the mix, i have to be pregnant right.   

I did test again and I got a squinter I mean its sssssuper faint BUT it is there so let pray this nugget is in the right spot and my beta comes back good!!  At least its another day of hope so lets keep praying for me sticky bean, come on!!!

@BusinessWife I guess the 9 are slower to fertilize but I bet they will get a few from those as well! 17 mature and 7 fertilized is still awesome though! That doc clearly didn't know what she was talking about!

Thanks @dragonette505 as sad as I feel for the 10 we lost, I am glad that they gave those 9 a shot... it's bittersweet for sure to have what we have, so hopefully more good news will make that eaiser.

Last time with only 10 mature, that means if 6 fertilized, we only really lost 4 at that stage, not 12.  I guess this just seems harder in a way bc we had 17 mature!!  How did 10 not even get to day 2??  A part of me wants to know why, and a part of me says to just let it go and not worry, bc it's not like "knowing" would bring them back.

Isn't that crazy, both times now, we have just a 1/3 fertilization rate from those retrieved?  ...and then a girl on insta who started stimming same night as me got 21 retrieved, 17 mature, 16 fertilized.  Like really?

Not sure how i'm making it in all this pain, I'll have to walk like i've been horseback riding dear lord...when will this pain go away already!!!

I"m nervous that it really took 8dpt to really see something but I did transfer one not two and trying to remember that.  I really appreciate the reassurance as we all know how tough this is and the outside world really doesn't get it.

Let me add my OH was having chest pains and we needed to go to the DR so he did not know I tested...talk about trying to steal my thunder 

@businesswife i'm sorry none of the other 9 made it but we really want the super strong to survive!!  The most fertilized I ever got was 7 and 6 made it for testing   Its a hard road for all.  I've gone into ER with just 3 or 4 and prayed hard each one would make it, I know how uncertain this process is.  You've been around these boards for a while and people of the same age getting the same amount all come back with different things.  One girl gave in 8 for testing and got all 8 back, its unheard of and is happily pregnant with her first transfer.  And then theres the girl same age that got nothing back.  Theres still so much research as to the why....  Is it your egg is it the sperm.  Doing icsi they are taking "the best looking" doesn't mean its perfect.  When mine haven't made it to blast they always blame my eggs and i'm always like...u dont know that!!  One ER I got 10, I think 7 fert and 3 made it and I got nothing from that round.  Its a toss up.  Hang in there I think a great report is coming your way this weekend!!
