Re: Anyone doing IVF in July/August?

  • @helloworld9. Might be worth a shot!  I'm not sure mine would have told me if I hadn't asked, but they go something along these lines, seems to me...

  • @BusinessWife our blasts weren't given as specific of a grade, our doctor said it wasn't an accurate way to predict success.
That being said I found this chart a while back and saved it.

  • @Hopeful_mom Yay! great numbers! I know the wait is hard, I hope you can find ways to stay distracted. Did they put you on a different kind of progesterone, like PIO? Or are you just monitoring progesterone?

  • I have a grading question but I feel a little funny asking, because I don't want to be a total
TW.  I know sometimes people can find seeing other ladies' numbers and reports triggering while they are in cycle and I dont want to upset anyone if they aren't in the mood to see it. I legit have no experience here and I feel like a total ivf newb, so I hope this isn't an idiotic question.

    *****TW**** blast grading reports ********

We got our grading back today from our second IVF cycle. The first time we had three frozen and we got a 4BB, 5AB, and 5AA, if I remember correctly.  So that all seems pretty straightforward and pretty great!? And I know we talked about that here. ;)

This time we have a 4AB, 5AB, and two that are each graded 6CB. So it's my understanding that the 6 part is great!  They're fully hatched?  But the CB part is what has me a little worried... Does anyone know if this is a bad indicator?

I know ultimately grading doesn't mean much, and when they choose which ones to transfer first, they're going to be looking at the embryoscope footage anyway. But that CB part just has me a little concerned.  :s

Nope, not a bad indixator... The good thing also is the C is for the trophoblast (the outer area of the blastocyst that becomes the placenta). Its generally more desirable to have the ICM (inner cell mass) be the higher rated as that becomes the baby... (only when you are talking about low rating... when its A's and B's, its all good)
at the same time.. I totally have a BC that I will be transferring and I'm not going to worry about it.... for all I know, if they had looked at it from a different angle, it would've been a B
  • tnh0413 hey glad you enjoyed some down time.  When I was just on estrace I would forget to take it all the time, its the worst.  If you've kept up with my fire vag from the crinone  :s I would actually go for the PIO especially if you've had issues with monistat in the past as I have too!  good call!!!   Looks like Oct is getting exciting over here :)

@funkykey  so glad to hear all is well and everything should be good to go!!  finally we are moving on to FET!!!  Thats very exciting!  Will you be able to start once AF arrives?  What type of protocol will you be doing?

dragonette505 how are you feeling?  Will you be starting a new cycle soon?

gfgrump I know staying positive is hard...even now its really hard!  But I was told you need to envision you're future with your child.  And the fact that i tested and didn't get a line right away when i thought by 7dpt i would didn't help the situation at all!!  Hang in there!!  Glad i'm not the only one up at 4am reading thebump ;)

  • @Hopeful_mom Yeah, I actually just had an appointment with my scheduling nurse.... So far no changes... just looking for o (which I feel like is going to be late this cycle, because of course) and then I will start priming ahead of AF. She is going to get my meds ordered today as well....
possible bad news... my nurse told me that my doc saw a polyp when she did my post egg retrieval water sono, which this is the first I'm hearing about it

  • @dragonette505 Isn't a polyp the kind of thing they mention they're seeing while they're doing the sono? I would be so frustrated to have that dropped on me out of the blue. Did the nurse say what they wanted to do?
  • dragonette505 it sux that they see it but that shouldn't upset an IVF cycle right?  Just annoying they didn't mention it to you as you could've taken care of it on your cycle off. :s

@Bababatty I was still mostly asleep since they did it during my retrieval (she also did a quickie pap smear as well since I was due) so I wouldn't have heard anything she said... just seems like it would have been reported to me... I also didn't notice it in my patient portal (though I did see my pap results when they came back).

It was weird, the nurse said: The doctor says you are planning to do a freeze all. and I was like, no I would like to transfer this time. She was like...oh, ok! You can if you like... the doctor did say she saw a polyp during your sono, but if its an issue she can take care of it if your transfer is not successful.

    Que???

SO then she went on to ask if I had a preference for day 3 or 5 and said likely I can get on the schedule for day 3, but if the embies look good push it to 5

    whet???

So is it maybe not in a bad place or not that big or what? I dunno... I'll see my doc next week probably so I guess we will talk then

  • uh oh!! I'm getting that "over capacity" message again!!
  • @ hopeful_mom I wasn't quite due, but they legit seem to just do whatever. They told me they were doing this right before I went to sleep! Lol
@tnh0413 yeah, I guess I hope it's nothing, here's the email I just got from her (or part of it, it was long) :)
